Q: Why isn’t the Qa’Tel Flight Deck Raptor’s Destabilized Tachyon Emitters console part of a set?
A: No other Raptor variants came with a console, so there were no consoles with which to make a set.
Uhmm... SuQob Raptor came with Bioneural Warhead. Puyjaq Raptor came with Graviton Pulse Generator...
They are but they're not part of the Qin Heavy Raptor line.
Doesn't stop them from making sets out of them, they have non-in-line ships taking advantage of consoles from others already. The Fed Battlecruiers being able to make use of the cloaks for example. So while not specifically sets, there is nothing keeping them from making them so, since they are able to edit existing consoles/console sets and adding to them. Additionally at multiple times in the past the SoQob and Puyjaq have been given away so the KDF players would be able to make a full set from varying vessels without having to purchase them all so long as they took advantage of those giveaways.
Or better yet, if a person has the set pieces for one of the factions with full sets, allow the pieces to be claimed by a KDFer, of course only one set would apply if someone owns both.

The Fed's lowest BOff seat is a lieutenant so you don't need to deal with singular ensigns sitting in the corner.
The Roms get an ensign engineering seat but that can go into emergency power abilities or an engineering team. That and they get access to another universal Lt. Commander slot for either more healing, more firepower, or more space wizardry.
The KDF seats are my least favourite. The ensign seat will most likely be a tactical team or a beam overload. I've always loved the Lt. Commander/Commander BOff setup for escorts so if I pick the Lt. Commander slot for something other than Tac, I'm missing two abilities.
I'll most likely just buy the Alita though. I've been drooling for this ship for quite some time so thanks for all the time you've spent on bringing this beauty back up to par!
I actually prefer the Klingon seating best because I like heaps of engineering and putting that lt.com universal into engineering with the lt.com eng would make for an epic little cruiser/escort hybrid. The fed version would do, but that klink seating on the fed version would have REALLY tempted me to buy... we shall see if the fed is tempting enough.
The Nebula-configured Odyssey needs to be a thing.
Actually personally I like the KDF>Rom>Fed for boff seating, the Lt. Com Universal might not be ideal for a particular build that you like, but its highly versatile in general.
The Fleet verison of this ship has more hull points then my Fleet Corsair T-U, better Boff seating, trades cruiser commands for a cloak, and .02 shields for better turn rate, trades hull restance and healing for Defence, Accuracy, and crit severity, and the ability to load cannons.
Even the Qa'tel's skin looks simular to the Corsair's.
I has more skin/parts options too.
If its bigger then the Qin it'll be nearly the same size.
The only thing I'll miss is the O.S.S. prefix and the giant guns.
YAY that the Fed one got rid of the useless tac ensign slot. Boo, that the other factions did not.
I don't think that matters anymore? With the new ensign abilitys it kinda takes care of ships with a single tac ensign slot. Kemocite 1, Structural integrity collapse and Subspace Vortex. Not to mention a ton of new Intel, Com, and Pilot skills to use if its a universal. Never again are we plauged with 3 Emergency power to ? or TT1 x2 or whatever But, You know what really is awesome, alot of these DON"T SHARE a CD with other abilitys.
Umm, are you sure about the raptor's hull and shields Trendy?
It's the same as the Alita ones while raptors used to have worse shields and more hull. Since the Qa'Tel is based upon the Qin, it should theoretically have 44k hull at lvl 60 and 0.833 shield mod. Of course if you're actually giving it FED escort values, I'll be glad since they're better (please update lower tier raptors too, btw).
I'm hoping it's because of the lack of set bonus. Hope it's not a typo.
Seems legit.
Well then let's rejoice.
On the other hand, my more OCD part would like to know why every T6 KDF raptor has a different shield mod. Or even, entirely different characteristics.
Afaik, all raptors till Tier 5 have more hull than similar FED escorts and 0.833 shield mod (compared with FED 0.9). Also a tad lower turn rate, on average.
At Tier 6:
the Mat'Ha stays true to those ideas. More hull, 15 turn rate and a lower shield mod (somehow 0.85 and not 0.833 though);
the Pilor raptors are more similar to raiders in order to fit with the other factions' pilot ships. Very low hull - though still higher than FED and ROM pilot ships, very high turn and another different shield mod, even higher this time (0.97 for Fleet, thus about 0.88 for the imaginary non-Fleet base);
the Qa'tel keeps the 15 turn rate but somehow gains FED escort like hull (thus lower than on a typical raptor) and shields (0.9 - thus significantly better than on typical raptors).
If someone asked me, I'd tell him just giving all the raptors what the Qa'Tel just received would be best. At last they'd finally follow the same rule.

Nice ships, but not really an improvement over the Command set IMO. Personally, I find it a little disappointing that there's only one hangar slot. I think I'll stick with my Command ships when I want a good carrier.
Wow, the 1-liter looks like it just climbed out of the pool (if ya know what I mean?.. shrinkage?!?..) though I do like the '59 Caddy tail lights flavor.
The K-Tel or is it ¿Que Tal? looks like it's wearing headphones (20 Original Hits! 20 Original Stars!)
and
The Jewel went Cyclops (Green eyed lady lovely lady, moving slowly towards the sun..)
That is just enough above the Ar'kif that I might have to save some ZEN for that one. Very, very nice update stats-wise, and the bird just looks vicious with the 2410 update.
Pilot's an intersting choice. But these ships don't scream Intel or Command at me either, so Pilot wins out by default.

Only the first power you've listed is a tactical power. And the station I was referring to was a tactical station so it could only use pure tactical abilities. So I'm still glad the Feds have lost the ensign tac slot and wish the KDF and Roms had followed suit, it was what drove me away from my T5 version. I may try the T6 version out now though for Feds. That said though, I think they shot themselves in the foot slightly with the pilot ships. Those mechanics have really changed how I fly and now I'm preferring dual beam banks because keeping things in front of me is a cake walk haha. I think they should have given all ships, or at least all escort ships, the manoeuvring systems of the pilot ships.

That first part is true, but it still doesn't get any sort of set bonus from equipping the parts - this is what, in my opinion, people are up in arms about (the fact that there's no Raptor console set bonus).
Looks nice, however I have a small issue with what was written in the stats:
Friction/Traction: 60
Friction Friction
There is no friction in space!!! Space is empty, there's nothing to create friction! Why didnt you just leave it on inertia?
Because not all missions take place in space. There's Friction inside the Solanae Dyson Sphere (for instance), and there are even abilities to buy from fleet spires that make your ship more controllable inside an atmosphere. Plus, Undine Space, you know, is filled with water, and there's Friction between that water and your ship's hull.

Set Bonuses
Advanced Tactical Systems (3 pc) – Passive
–Recharge Time on Tactical and Pilot Bridge Officer abilities
+Accuracy
+Critical Hit Chance
However on tribble, the Consoles have the 3 pc set bonus as: Advanced Tactical Systems (3 pc)
–15% Recharge Time Reduction to Pilot Bridge Officer abilities (no mention of tactical)
+3% Accuracy
+2.5% Critical Hit Chance
Is/was the blog wrong? Or is the item information on the consoles on tribble wrong?
Just trying to make an informed purchase here. Thanks!

We get both cloak and high hull points and shields, so I'm not complaining.
Who cares about high hull points and shields.. ??? ROFL... and the cloak.. ¿? of course you get a cloak... ow.
On a sidenote is so funny to see how so many people get excited (again) when new shinys arrive, even if half of those ships will be bugged somehow lol (im pretty sure the singularity beam of the Arkif is still bugged as hell). But anyways will be always the same story who really bothers anymore xD.
I love this improved version of the Ar´kif!! My question is if they will have in the near future a unique bridge layout? Since all the romulan ships have the same bridge! If you can make that It will be glorious!
But I must say that this Upgrade It´s fantastic!! I hope the patch ends fast so I can grab one!!

I agree, even if the ship layout remains the same, it would be nice to choose different bridge designs/layouts for the Romulan ships.
although a dedicated Fed player myself, even I thought the lack of 'compensation' to the KDF ship was odd.
If you were a dedicated KDF player...this sorta thing would be expected.
They could have made an awesome 2-piece set with the MatHa's Cannon console. Could have.
But, they didn't.
...
At least they're consistent.

Dear Cryptic... If you make a different boff seats then make available to choose it! I'm playing on FED side, and when i saw Lt.Universal i was very very very disappointed :( ... I think KDF version (Ltc.Universal) is a lot BETTER. Please, make available to CHOOSE boff seats!
Funny thing is they won't really be able to make adequate console sets even with the T6 B'Rel, T6 Vor'cha (should it ever come) or T6 Vo'quv (should it ever come).
What I mean by adequate? Well, the Vor'cha and B'Rel have a lower tier C-store versions with consoles, but their T5 ones don't. So at best, they can get two part sets where many of the recent FED and ROM versions have 3-part sets.
And obviously, neither the Qin nor the Negh'var had any other consoles from their lower tier versions.

I've got to ask: isn't that a bit disingenuous when in both of the examples where KDF ships are restricted from acquiring a console set bonus... there are cross-faction consoles that are part of that set bonus? Why are cross-faction consoles, already available to the Fed/KDF/Rom before these new sets are released, not being included in the possible console set combinations? I'm not expecting any higher tiers for the set bonuses (in fact, I'd be in favor of capping the set bonus at the lowest tier available to all factions), but why does:
Console - Universal - Destabilized Tachyon Emitters+ Console - Universal - Point Defense System = Set Bonus
...and yet...
Console - Universal - Destabilized Tachyon Emitters+ Console - Universal - Point Defense System = Nothing
Yes, by the way, I am asking about all cross-faction consoles, for all factions; not only would it open up more options for all players, it would help fund the game by increasing demand for cross-faction consoles... which we all know come from lock boxes.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.

For the Romulan one, this seems to fly as the source (terrible, terrible pun intended):
Jhu = Angel
Ael = Winged (also the name of a main character in the Rihannsu series, Ael t'Rllaillieu)
so... "Jhu'ael" suggests "Winged Angel."
