All I'm seeing is a variant of a Command cruiser .
Got to agree, they just reused the same assets with (very) minor modifications. The secondary hull is a modified command cruiser hull, the nacelles are modified command also and the saucer looks like a more triangular Guardian saucer (at least from top down perspective).
I can't see anything that strikes me as appealing. It looks like another Command Ship Variant. At least we can change it to the Original/Retrofit configuration.
I wonder if Cryptic will touch up the old Excelsior models to include the fins that were near the rear of the saucer.
Is it just me or are the new traits limited to 3 Km .... I mean come on guys
...
at what point will you really be within 3 Km of a enemy
Read it carefully, it's 3km of your TARGET, not 3km from yourself. In other words it's like Kemocite laced weapons skill in that it has a small AoE from target.
I wish you could see her from additional angles. There is no denying she's an Excelsior when you see her nose-on.
I'll be the first to say, I'm looking forward to this one big time. Just grabbed the new Avenger, and love it, but the Excelsior has always been my favorite ship. Next to the Connie of course.
I'll wait to see how it looks in game of course, as I tend to mix and match parts anyways.
My mother always told me to walk away from a fight, The Marines taught me how.
Yep, I happen to think she's a beauty. If her stats are what I think they're going to be like she going to be every bit as rock solid in a fight as her predecessors. THAT looks like a federation battlecruiser.
What difference does a new cruiser make when the end-game FRIGATES can tank better than a player's cruiser? One Vaadwaur shield-rip and it is frag-bait like everything else. :/
Does look more like an Excelsior from that angle right enough. Though I don't get why all the saucer sections have to be elongated of late, what's wrong with a classic round shape? My friend will love this though, solely so he can use his standard Excelsior skin on a T6 ship lol.
Regarding the saucer, I'm gonna wait til it comes out. I can always put the original saucer on it and kitbash a "refit" for myself.
Yeah I'd be curious to see how that would look. The nacelles and the primary hull on this new one look pretty good, I'm just feeling nostalgic for the more circular saucer.

Who the hell was asking for this? How much you want to bet this makes a 125-year-old frakking museum piece a better ship than the GCS again?
Oh, and it's ugly as sin. I'm not touching it with a ten-parsec pole.
I am sure people asked for it somewhere...
And its not making a 125 year old ship better, its an updated version of that 125 year old ship...you know like how dodge came out with a new challenger.... its not the same one, its just a newer one...
Also don't forget the blog clearly states, we can use any other heavy cruiser skin variant on it...doesn't have to be the t6 one...
There is a few other ships I was betting on seeing before this one...surprisingly...the old joke isn't happening anymore with this girl....
Tuesday passed and were getting 10.5 Thursday instead....
I thought that the Command Cruiser was the attempt to make a T6 Excelsior, guess I was wrong. Can we get some Fore, Side and Top view images? Because from what I can see, it looks more like an attempt to make a T6 Constituition by looking at the pylons and what I can see of the primary hull, even the nacelles look more like they were styled after those used on the Constituition refit.

Will You PLEASE stop with the damn Triangle Primary Hulls!!!!!
GO back to using the more rounded ones, these look absolutely horrible in my opinion.
Why the hell do Ya have to mess with a classic shape that has always worked just fine???

I have to say that I'm extremely underwhelmed. So many different direction they could have gone with "25th century Excelsior" and they settle for a kitbash of existing components. It's ugly, and not in a good way. On top of that, it's uninspired and has no equivalents in the Klingon or Rihan fleets.
In all honestly, I'd like to see some more Federation vessels in the compact blocky vein like the Avenger. Ships that simply have the look of tough, frontline vessels designed during a time of war. Maybe some Rihan designs that have them trying out some Fdderation design features for greater efficiency with the Feds creating a sleek and no-nonsense multirole ship like higher-end warbirds while the Klingons roll out some awe-inspiring warship to remind us all why the Empire is a force worthy of both respect and fear.
Mix up the design features. The alliance of powers brings an unprecedented level of cooperation and brainstorming between the three main powers. Lets see that reflected.

It's 2410 damnit! Triangle hulls are IN!
I wouldn't be surprised if the T6 Prometheus had a circular hull.
I am most pleased that the Excelsior is getting a 2410 update. I am hoping that the Advanced Science Vessel will get some loving too.
When it comes to kit-bashing, ASV's a Galaxy-Class kit-bash in itself. Would be nice to be able to use the different skins/pieces used for the Galaxy variants to use on a T6 (and hopefully earlier versions) of the Adv. Sci. Vessel. Also, for T6 ASV, it would be very nice to allow it to use the Saucer Separation console.

There is already an Excelsior with a round saucer. Time for something different.
Kitbashers can rejoice, and Excelsior lovers will surely be happy with the old design.
Can we get the nacelles for the Command Cruiser?
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
I can see a portion of it being Excelsior, but I also see too much Command Cruiser/Regent/Odyssey ships:
The main issue is the saucer, the problem is the dome under is circular, and the command deck is rounded off so we have two parts that flat out clash visually with the overall shape of the saucer. Expected if they did the Arrowhead shape they would have went more Guardian cruiser rounded off shape over the sharper one they show here. The location of the impulse engines...oh dear...almost all cruisers seem to have them out where they are placed (except the Command ships now...) Would have preferred them more in the center, and wider...stylized thin I guess?
The Nacelles I can see show some of the actual wrap around of the blue warp coil grill like the Excelsior, but the problem is the gigantic Bussard collectors= Command Cruiser. To the point they kind of break the style of what is behind them. I like the Nacelles overall shape, but I would have liked it to look sort of like the Avenger class (T5) front Nacelle style - only instead of one Bussard collector opening there would be two smaller/thinner ones to match the size of the warp coil line (OR match the T6 Explorer Andromeda Class Bussards) Also their size, they seem shorter than one would think. And they connect in the middle section like...the Connie/some other ships do with the pylons so it kind of looks odd (though the pylons do look good!). I will miss the fins/thruster assemblies...
The Neck appears to be fine. Though it looks like it slopes down the back like some other ships, this is okay! The secondary hull just looks like it's thicker in the back, this is okay, only thing I'm wondering about is the bulge at the bottom missing that dark/field thingy that most Fed Cruisers have.
If you are keeping the nacelles and saucer way they are, I request "B" version parts in the future if you will... like the current Advanced Heavy Cruiser line has:
The secondary Hull gets the Ent-B type thingy on it too, The Engines like I described earlier visually, The saucer though, I would not mind a change: instead of a circle, or arrowhead, go the route of the Exploration/Galaxy/Andromeda variants....only, more extreme to a actual oval if you need the pointy fix, or maybe a Stadium shape? ( dimensional geometric shape constructed of a rectangle with semicircles at a pair of opposite sides.)
That is all. I'm tired, forgive spelling/grammar at this hour, please.

So a T6, but I can use the the old skin. You've got yourself a deal.
I don't see a single line in that picture that lends itself to the Excelsior. Bulging nacelles? Yet another arrow-shaped saucer? I'm not seeing any elegance. But hey, smart move letting us choose old skins!
One of the original selling features was the transwarp drive, is that going to be included in some way?
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
So Romulans get nothing, but feds get anther ship? KDF get screwed too?
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to complain about romulan and kdf content.. thank you for answering that question.
Normally i would tell you to google T6 T=varo or T6 Gurumba, but our preview source has removed its content after too many people linked to their site on this forum.

Just seems lazy imo,
Oh and still waiting on a T6 Defiant

Bring on 2411.
Emissary and Nomad class Star Cruiser hulls need to have a T6 facelift, those were sleek and sexy.

How about re-balancing space combat?

Same thing was said about the bortasqu'
Then again it might be called an excelsior if it looks like voyager and has a tugboat attached to the bottom of it.
