I would like to take this opportunity to thank Cryptic for some of the changes in this new lockbox. I am still taking them all in, but there appear to be some VERY positive steps here - the removal of the dreaded minipacks, the choice of Krenim weapon type, the making of Reciprocity available to KDFs/Roms, the inclusion of duty officers with 'in demand' Active Roster abilities (hopefully this will include ones like the Attack Pattern Cooldown reductions/Zemok, and DEM Power Drain Removal/Marion, etc, to help curb the crazy prices these have been commanding lately).

One of the biggest issues ingame at the moment is the fact that due to the current metagame, certain older items - like Plasmonic Leech, like Zemok, etc - are extremely useful in builds and are in very high demand. But as these are from older lockboxes, their supply is extremely constrained. Some of the steps you have taken will begin to help to address this issue. Thank you, and I hope positive steps like this continue.

I like most changes, but lets not be so naive to assume all of these changes were altruistic in nature. To wit: the removal of mini packs wasn't a decision to reduce player frustration: it's more likely their existence was gutting sales of R&D packs in the Z-Store. Also, it may have been to remove EC from players (as they sell for alot on the exchange)

Yeah getting that dreaded feeling as well, scam us into buying that TRIBBLE. Honestly the LAST thing I can use is ironically enough more Doffs. Got all the ones I need and as a Sci captain I don't see a single point in the new Doff traits they're giving those Delta doffs... ugh, Cryptic FLAWED logic if you ask me...

Having read the blog and, most importantly, the descriptions of the traits named 'Taking you with me' and 'Blaze of Glory', I am left with the distinct impression that the devs have decided the best approach to dealing with power creep is to help it along. Temp auto res, increased damage, and totally immunity.... Can you get any more ridiculous? ​​

I must say this is the first time in a very long time I've been tempted by a Lock Box. Thank goodness you're getting rid of the TRIBBLE prizes. Reciprocity will be the new Leech.

hmm it seem that greed won as allways , i was expecting some science love from this box , instead i get more imbalance and powercreep by allowing klings and romulans using reciprocity. And if you adding the sci dreadnaught to a rip off pack... you guys realy have no ethic .

I think they mean the worthless doff mini packs

pwe has a nice sense of hummor , romulans , dear klingons ,even beloved feds you want a new sci ship , ok here take it , you just have to open a „few” , usefull , doff packs that are allsow very cheap . Cheap like us.

Mark the calender. This is the first lockbox I am not going to open... at all.

What a load of... TRIBBLE. Absolute TRIBBLE. This is not even CLOSE to what I was expecting... and they've decreased the odds of getting new weapons even further. Just awesome -- more chances to blow $$$ or dilth/EC on boosts that I don't need.

Well it had to happen eventually, I guess this is the end of the lockbox thing for me.

There are still the "big" packs, aren't there?

But of course the ultimate reasons is to keep lockbox sales high or even increase them.

Oh, and it almost looks as if the new Krenim ship will also cause people to wonder why their ship is flying backwards.




Regarding the time ship - I think the inclusion in a DOFF Promo or a R&D Pack promo is likely, but I also won't discount the possibility that it might be part of an event reward. But that might be overly optimistic.

Interesting, no signs about the [Redacted] science dreadnought from [Redacted] website. Maybe it will be as a reward during the fourth week of "Broken episode", or another "grindversary"(400 vouchers for first run of mission, 600 from daily mission style?) is upon us with one piece of new space set unlocking each week?

PS: lockbox changes are good and finally Reciprocity for KDF/ROMs, guess what item will be 100m+ EC shortly after this box ends. Also Krenim warship seems nice, warship(8 weapons, destroyer stats again?) and pilot + intel hybrid seats bundled in one ship?...

Science Dreadnaught? Are you guys referring to the Krenim Temporal Weapons Ship? No way in hell do we get to fly that as a our own ship. At best it will be a special mission where we get to control it. My guess is we'll be escorting it to the Andromeda Sphere to escort the sphere out of existence. That ship is WAY too broken as a regular ship.

In any event these changes seem very positive. Time will tell as the other lockboxes cycle through and we all see how it shakes out with the past items.

Trendy, please, where is the announcement for new ship slots??! I ran out. Only ones left are either lockboxes or T5-U C-Store ships (which can't be reclaimed as T5-U). Please, please, urgently increase the ship-cap limit!

I think not making the new Science Dreadnought part of the lockbox/lobi package is a mistake. I have lost all interest in the new lockbox. And I'm not going to spend 500 mio EC on a single ship.
