I do not get that for instance the Romulan Heavy Warbirds can literally SPAM heavy torps.
Makes no sense, this is intant death to me and my friends...
Also the Photonic Fleet from the ... forgot the name... are bloody deadly, on normal mode alone.
Not to mention Advanced, and SURELY not Elite Mode.
Strange.
Note, I am NOT a FAW/Beam user, but one is a cannoneer ship, the other a Torpedo Hunter.
You should never be destroyed by a romulan heavy torpedo period
you most likely have no kinetic resistance or armor...your fault
Cannon scatter volley
tractor repulsers
Traits to improve accuracy against small targets like fighters and Torpedos
brace for impact
subspace remodulator
polarize hull
Speed/manover you know move around outrun them
The list goes on and on
Jellico....Engineer ground.....Da'val Romulan space Sci
Saphire.. Science ground......Ko'el Romulan space Tac
Leva........Tactical ground.....Koj Romulan space Eng
JJ-Verse will never be Canon or considered Lore...It will always be JJ-Verse
I do not want to swap into FAW just because it's OP.
I'd like to play MY thing, see...
Adapt or die. :P
You don't NEED to use FaW, you need to use an AoE attack though.
A properly timed Hargh'Peng hit can do it. The key is to not just shoot the D'D incessantly. Pretty much ANY AoE ability can clear the heavy torp spam.
I've been having great fun with my delta recruit. As I near level 50 though I'm feeling a little daunted at the idea of making this a full character (which is what the game should want us to do).
Did a borg sector invasion with level 8 gear on the T4 defiant. This reminded me of how that played as a finished character 2 years ago.
The gap to get to the current endgame ship is pretty big. The reputation is doable. The ship you can buy. However earning 300,000+ fleet credits to get the fleet tac consoles and a few other things is pretty tough with most fleets finished. Even giving away all of it in dilithium will be a challenge to find. And, honestly, playing without that equipment is unpleasant.
Then of course there are the 45 spec points to gain - 3 or 4 months to be able to play properly (if you can find a fleet to slot projects).
To me it seems that the system really needs a new holding to give new characters a chance, along with reducing the spec point grind in half or quarters.
Same here. I've having a ball with my Delta Recruit as well, which I model after the ReBoot character, Ray Tracer (I even gave him his signature Web Surfer outfit). Over the last 4 days, I level my delta up to level 50, and am almost finished with all the delta missions - just have the finish Cold Storage once the update goes in today.
Anyways, my opinion on playing this as a delta character is no different than when I first play STO 3 years ago on my main female TAC FED when F2P came out. The only difference is you speed through it with the delta rewards you get, which save times for me to work on deviantart commissions in between.
As much as I would love to a do a Delta on my KDF, I have to sadly just play with just the one Delta FED as I have enough on my plate with the 3 toons I have altogether. I wish the best of luck to those in Rogue Alliance & Rogue Blackguard who are grinding multiple Deltas to get the rewards our fleet is handing out personally. =3

I have all of this, not top gear, sure, I am far too poor for that, but I DO have those.
And yes, I actually even use it.
Still, despite my weapon skills are maxed (even the hishest one) I miss a lot.
And NO, I DO use x2 [Acc] green cannons.
Them Torps are a hard target to kill.

My Harpeng was MKII, I did not find a better one, sadly.
Still looking for one.
Thing is, the enemy comes always sitting on my roof, see, for some reason these heavy ships are danged agile and fast.
They torp me mostly in close range.
I try to stay away, but my cannons seem to lose quite a bit of damage over distance...
So yes, I am often halfway to 1/3rd the max distance from these big busters...
I have been playing this game since season 2. I have played, where possible, each new season.
I have kept up with the new developments that have come our way.
I do feel that things have moved fast of late. So in 9 months things will have changed beyond belief (lvl cap, new ships of totally new classes as well as new boffs and a new R and D....the list seems endless)
But at least the game is MOVING. If this means changing then I will accept this or be left behind.
Even if I sometimes feel like a hamster on a wheel !
I understand that a challenge is better than no challenge! But this is ridiculous! I can no longer even damage a romulan ship anymore! I am firing 8 weapons on the thing and nothing! And in no time I get destroyed! The last time I played this game was about nine months ago. And I could do just fine against the romulan ships. But now they have made the game impossible! A game that used to be fun is now irritating! I have no idea why they decided to this TRIBBLE! You idiots might think this is great, But not everyone likes to be killed before they can even get a shot off. This is a shame too! I really liked this game! I worked hard and got all the top tier ships. But now my top tier ships may as well be shuttle crafts! I will never spend money or waste my time on this TRIBBLE of a game ever again unless they change this back to the way it used to be! Otherwise it is just a waste of space on my harddrive.
No offense, but i got my DR KDF-Rom tac to level 50 with Mk IV gear on. Never bothered to upgrade it since i didn't need it for the content.
If you're having difficulties there are a few things to consider:
1. check you weapon power
2. Check your skill point distribution
3. Check your boff seating
4. Check your difficulty setting
5. DO NOT GO RANTING ON THE FORUM - This should actually be the starting position
6. Ask advice with significant data such as "Mission name ", Specific opponent", Your character class, The ship your currently flying and so forth.
If you want to improve then follow these basic steps and don't forget about #5
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I will take any advice.

This is not the game I once knew, lol.
So much to learn again...
I seem to remember a time before LOR when Cannons ruled the game and beams were little more than a joke, funny how biased formers are towards Cannons.
I'd say they were more like Dragons than Illuminati, and definitely nothing like Templars.
