What quote is on your ship's Bridge Plaque?

Here is a picture of Captain Picard reading the plaque of the Enterprise D. I'll let you guess what famous quote is on this plaque. :)

And here is one from USS Voyager.

If our ships had Bridge Plaque, what line would your Captain(s) like to put on his/her ship's plaque?

* * *

The one I would want to use is in my sig, but in case I ever change my STO sig...

We're Starfleet officers. Weird is part of the job.

And here it is in Latin. Just because.

Sumus stella classe nautae. Mirum est pars munus.

And here she is saying those words herself. Pardon the low quality of the image, but the sound is fine.

Sig? What sig? I don't see any sig.

That's a good question. The USS Chin'toka undoubtedly uses something attributable to a Federation hero of one of the Battles of Chin'toka. I think it is based on a quote from the episode "The Siege of AR-558" from Benjamin Sisko, and goes something like this:

"They were more than just names, the brave soldiers who gave their lives, their blood, and their peace on that hallowed distant soil. Let neither the passage of time nor light-years diminish our gratitude to those who pay the price for our freedom."

I felt like a ship like that needed a remembrance of the lives lost in the Chin'toka system, which includes AR-558.

Here is one that fits with the Akellen Macet, which was commissioned and sent into the Cardassian territories in direct defiance of the True Way. (Why the ship name? In my headcanon, Macet was horrified when he realized his rhetoric against the Federation had inspired the rise of the True Way. He spoke out against it and his family was brutalized and he went into hiding, but continues to speak from his secret location against the terrorists and is thought to be behind efforts to counter them and their supporters from within the Cardassian political system.) I thought there were few better choices than Malala Yousafzai:

"The terrorists thought they would change my aims and stop my ambitions, but nothing changed in my life except this: weakness, fear, and hopelessness died. Strength, power, and courage were born."

The dedication plaque of USS Lestat, Grunt's new Samsar cruiser:

    Actio personalis monitur TRIBBLE persona.

(Literal meaning: "A personal action dies with the person." Grunt's interpretation: "Dead men can't sue.")

(Or possibly Actus non facit reum nisi mens est rea - "I never meant to kill anyone.")

D'trel would use something Rihan, maybe something Spock said once, but Three has a LOT of quotable plaques...

In fact, she has a standing policy of having a Maxim of Maximally Effective Mercenaries as well as a quote.

From my in-game ships, some of my favorite Maxims:

USS George Takei (t5u Avenger): "Maxim 27. Don't be afraid to be the first to resort to violence."

USS Leonard Nimoy (t5u TSABC): "Maxim 15. Only you can prevent friendly fire."

USS James Doohan (t5u DSD freebie): "Maxim 13. Do unto others."

USS William Shatner (Phantom): "Maxim 37. There is no 'overkill.' There is only 'open fire' and 'I need to reload.'"

USS Patrick Stewart (Guardian): "Maxim 1. Pillage, then burn."

USS Brent Spiner (Chell Grett t5u): "Maxim 6. If violence wasn’t your last resort, you failed to resort to enough of it."

My favorite actual quote is the following, from the George Takei:

    "I. Like. To. Kill. Things."
    ~Richard

There's also the following, from the Brent Spiner:

"Killing means never having to say you're sorry."
    ~Richard

And this little gem, from the William Shatner:

"I don't even pay the price for my own crimes." (the plaque doesn't have the reference, but it's a Richard quote)

Another great one, from the Patrick Stewart:

"The look on your face when a toddler rips out your heart and shows it to you? Priceless.

    For everything else, there's Fwoosh."
    ~Richard

I have a Klingon toon with all ships named after drinks measures (tot, dram, jeroboam, etc.) so the dedication is a poem by Aphra Behn.

If all be true, that I doth think,
      there are 5 reasons one should drink;
good food, good friends, or being dry,
or lest one should be by-and-by...
      or any other reason why.

"In Peace, preparedness, in War, silence"

The big advanced warbird got commissioned for the Delta Quadrant, so.

"Though we travel under strange stars, we remember the blades and fires of our homes."

My Klingon (well, Orion) main pilots a Mogh, and the Demonslayer has as its motto a reminder to its more bloodthirsty Klingon crew:

Galaxy Class Deadnought Cruiser (Fleet, upgraded)
"All it takes to keep the encroaching darkness at bay is a single little flame, a spark, a light, hope. And from that a new dawn will come."

      For my alt:
      U.S.S. Black Dragon
      Akira Class (Thunderchild subclass)
      "Here be a dragon."

The motto for my alt was the motto I used on my main. But I have decided to move my main's motto to my alt, as when I started my alt I decided to go with 'dragon' style names. Thus my main's ship got a new motto.
