Since "Spock" and "Unification" are basically the same idea at this point in-game, it's entirely unsurprising that the Republic, and D'trel especially, would mourn him.
I have a question for the scholars of the Rihannsu language here: What would be a grammatically-correct formulation for the phrase "Virinat's Revenge", particularly as a ship name? (t'Shael is about to get her Kobali cruiser, and she was a third-generation Virinat colonist. Does "colonist" apply after three generations? Anyway, that's her basic motivation.)

I wouldn't like to comment on the grammatical correctness, but from what I've read, I don't think the name itself would not be used by Romulans, as I've read they don't like to give ships names which convey 'something to live upto', for example, Enterprise/Endeavour essentially mean 'an undertaking' which would imply that the ship 'has a job to do'. Virinat's Revenge would again imply a purpose to live upto, so not the kind of name they would bestow...

I think 'colonist' would still apply to inhabitants of planets with a particular racial demographic regardless of the generation, as they are not living on their people's homeworld. For example, the inhabitants of Caladan are members of the Federation, and would identify the planet as home, but would not distinguish to identify themselves as 'Caladanians', but simply as Humans living on one of the Human colony worlds...

But it is her purpose for existence, ever since the Tal'Shiar mind-TRIBBLE incident - she wants to hurt the Tal'Shiar, the Elachi, and their masters the Iconians, and to continue to do so until she feels her need for vengeance satisfied. Now, if the Republic had a stronger hierarchy to their fleet, she might be prohibited from naming her ship thus, but it does suit her personality.

It might be her purpose, but that doesn't necessarily make it the ship's I'm trying to find where I read it, but one of the Romulan sources I use has more than a few broken pages now :-\ Of course, there's no reason why she could not rename the ship herself

Sounds not terribly unlike D'trel, LOL.
Anyway...I know that a lot of Rihan starships are named after Journey ships (Rea's Helm, Lost Road, Shield, Bloodwing, Vengeance, et cetera). Those are always a good place to start.
Of course, there's no reason why she could not rename the ship herself
Kind of the angle I was going for, yes, considering it's not properly a Romulan ship, but rather one of the Samsar cruisers developed by the joint efforts of the Alliance and the Kobali (that's my headcanon explanation for the existence of Kobali ships with Starfleet, KDF, and Republic captains, anyway).
Besides, I don't think the Romulans have a tradition of horror movies, so I can't use the naming convention I used for the other zombie ships (USS George Romero, USS Vlad Tepes, and USS Lestat).
Worffan, one difference between t'Shael and D'trel is that D'trel wants her enemies dead. t'Shael wants them to suffer. Death would end that.
Jon's Post, supplemental: After spending some time perusing the Imperial Language Institute website and not finding anything relating to those particular parts of speech, I guess she's just going to command RRW Ra'khoi.

Revenge is a good name...
So....methodically, V for Vendetta vengeful, rather than massive emotional trauma vengeful?

It was in My Enemy, My Ally. There's a conversation between Ael and Jim Kirk about the Enterprise that boils down to the Romulans not generally naming ships (or people) after virtues or abstract ideas, for fear that the subject will be compelled to take on traits of its name. (Names are a big deal in their culture.)
In the novels they tend to name ships after things like armor and weapons (Cuirass, Gorget, Gauntlet), as well as reusing the names of Journey ships (the 18 generation ships that left Vulcan during the Sundering). Ael's Bloodwing is named after a species of bird (a vulture analogue), and is also a Journey ship. In Peace Forged in Fire Worffan and I also used Eyiv s'Rea (Rea's Helm), Delevhas (Shield), and Eyhon Eludet'eri (Lost Road).
However, since you asked, jonsills, the direct translation is Ra'khoi s'Virinat.

Awesome  That's the site I was meaning which has some broken pages, and I believe, that was where I read it... Equally, I don't consider that to be a 100% foolproof source... For example, under names, they list Ael as being written

I've not read the novel, so definitely read it online, but it may simply have been on a now-broken page... Thanks for confirming that I hadn't just imagined it though

Well, it also occurred to me while I was having dinner that this particular example may be more acceptable than most since the ship's being named after revenge for a particular act rather than the concept of revenge in general.

Ah, thank you. Always been a fan of Bilingual Bonus in ship-names - it's why my Klingon's Risian corvette is IKS D'k Tagh. (And t'Shael's Kestrel is RRW Nei'rrh, named for a small venomous bird native to ch'Rihan.)
Ael thought it was hilarious when she found out the Enterprise wasn't named for any particular enterprise, but for the concept in general. It finally explained (for her) why that ship found itself at the crux of so many matters of galactic importance. (Also, apparently "Jim" means something in Rihannsu that is also very funny, and possibly scatological - she refused to tell Jim why it was funny.)

I wrote it in between evacuating both ends of my alimentary canal last night. Came out pretty well, given that.
Ugh, I'm sick as a dog and I have a paper due tomorrow...this day is gonna suck.
Thank you, though. It came out pretty well, if I do say so myself.
TMI, but excellent work.

A little bit of repetition in the opening lines of the speech, but otherwise a very nice piece

Enjoy.
Thank you; not having a particularly good couple of days here, but at least the story came out well!
I'd better go get some Gatorade and graham crackers; those ought to help.
