Well, Worffan's already seen what I have planned for #3, and I've been thinking about how to play "Infection" since grylak proposed it. As for the first one, it occurred to me that the Mol'Rihannsu have more reason than most to want to honor Spock's (apparent) passing. Gives me a good excuse to use Morgan again, and finally reveal why she's called that.
"Great War! / And I cannot take more! / Great tour! / I keep on marching on / I play the great score / There will be no encore / Great War! / The War to End All Wars"

Gonna write a thing for D'trel tomorrow. Spock's her idol, she sees him and the Unification movement that he founded/supported as the root cause of the few good things that happened in her life. It gave her Adani and her one year of relative happiness. A concrete purpose, too.
Cast:
Drew Mason - Garrett Hedlund
Marcus Kane - Matt Bomer
Galan tr'Varo - Dylan McDermott
Amanda Palmer - Ashley Greene
Rebecca Van Doren - Charlize Theron
Jedda Tobin - Bridget Moynahan
James T. Kirk - voiced by William Shatner
Agreed, nice entry, Marcus. Nice, short, and to the point.
My main idea for #1 has all my various captains visiting Vulcan, though I also have a possible idea on how to bridge #1 and #3. I also have an idea for #2 that's been brewing in my head for a while.

Yet another reason why she and Ta'nara must never meet, then.
Hmm...trying to figure out whether or not it would make sense to have one of my characters come to Vulcan. I considered Alyosha, but the environment on Vulcan would be very harsh on him though I know he could endure it long enough for a ceremony with proper advance preparation. I just don't think he would go, though no disrespect would be meant by that. If Berat went, it would be primarily for duty reasons due to his high-ranking dual commission, and I am not so sure the story would ring properly on the personal level.
There is one other possibility coming to mind, but whether or not the character would be in the area at the right time...I am not sure.

I'm going to have to change out my signature soon, because it's reached the point where I can't watch, hear, read, or even think about that speech without tearing up.
For my part, I too have gone off-prompt. I just can't picture the Vulcans doing an anniversary memorial. And for whatever reason, late June is always a really awkward time of year for my captains.
But I did have something from two characters who I don't show enough of, who would have been heavily impacted by losing Spock.
...Oh, baby, you know, I've really got to leave you / Oh, I can hear it callin 'me / I said don't you hear it callin' me the way it used to do?...

Thank you As mentioned, it was a dream I'd had after first watching That Movie, and the most vivid image I had, was of a fleet of ships encircling the area, like a paddle-out...

Likewise, thank you. Like yourself, I can't picture Vulcans doing an anniversary memorial, it's just not their way, and even if they did, as you know from The Notes, both my Vulcan mains are on Earth, and Ael likely wouldn't atttend something like that unless ordered, so it seemed more fitting to go with my dream than with a direct interpretation... I really liked how you captured the point that Hobus wasn't just a threat to the Romulans, but to everyone everywhere
Sander, it's a nice touch that Spock would have inspired Grimes to appreciate humanity, just as he himself in the end came to appreciate humanity as a part of who he was. Very nice indeed.
The more I am thinking about it, the more I see the possibility of having my Romulan and Reman characters involved in this, and a Vulcan who hasn't been seen this far, that I intended to debut at a later date. I think this will have personal resonance with them, and even though I know the planetary environment could be harsh in some ways for Commander Shalrak (my Reman toon), I think her endurance in it would be significantly better than Alyosha's, so she would willingly bear the necessary inconveniences. I don't get reasons often to bring out Shalrak or Tovan, so this might work.
As far as a Vulcan memorial...I do have an idea of the type of commemoration and the motivation, when remembering a person of great accomplishments. It will take a bit of time to make sure it comes across right...

In the novel The Restaurant At the End of the Universe, there's a section discussing Dan Streetmentioner's Guide to Verb Tenses For Time Travel, in which an attempt was made to create verb forms to describe events that haven't happened yet, events that have happened in your personal timeline but not for your audience, events that would have happened if you hadn't changed the timeline to prevent them, and events that happened to you while you were traveling backward in time with the intent of becoming your own grandfather or grandmother. (Later editions eliminated all that, noting that it's possible, if you're sufficiently flexible, to discuss such matters using standard verb tenses. The only change in the end was to remove the future perfect, as it was discovered not to be.)

Agreed; it seems like a very un-Vulcan thing to do.
I really liked how you captured the point that Hobus wasn't just a threat to the Romulans, but to everyone everywhere
Yeah, once you parse the technobabble into something that make sense, Hobus really was a pretty terrifying end-of-everything scenario. It was basically a cosmic firestorm that grew bigger and spread farther the more it consumed. Spock's red matter singularity was like a massive air tanker water-drop on the heart of that firestorm.

Thanks. I think Spock inspired Grimes in a lot of ways. (As he also inspired me.)

Canonically, we have seen statues on Vulcan, but I doubt there is the same kind of sentiment attached to them as there is in Human cultures...
And absolutely, maybe the Iconians or Masters just thought "TRIBBLE it... time to wipe the slate and start afresh.."

The Vulcans do revere great thinkers like Surak and Syrran. I don't think giving similar reverence to Spock, given his being able to fully come to terms and accept both sides of his heritage, is too much of a stretch.

Like these, absolutely, but I would not expect to see individual memorials, and the attendent emotions as with Human memorials. (although I've read that a memorial is going to be introduced on the 5th  )
Comments
Indeed.
Will need to see if I can come up with anything for any of these prompts.
