Well now I'm
really tempted. The Fed ships look great and I want the KDF ones because the KDF needs all the help it can get...so maybe just buy the big pack for 15% off and get the Roms as the icing on the cake?
And also glad I hesitated and hadn't purchased any yet! Really sticking it to the early adopters eh Cryptic?

It's because almost nobody did adopt this time. Command has flopped huge.
...they were technically on sale when they launched.
Have you seen how many Command ships are out there in sector space? Geko has boasted about the sales of the pack, and for once I actually believe him. Hell how many people bought them just for AHOD alone? Power sells.
Yeah I was thinking the same. I wouldn't necessarily agree that they've flopped based on the amount I've seen flying around.
A ship I do believe flopped big-time is the Dauntless. I think I've seen maybe one of those since it was introduced. Must've been that one Star Trek fan who thought it was a cool design.
USS Casinghead NCC 92047 launched 2350
Fleet Admiral Stowe - Dominion War Vet.
I've seen very few compared to normal ship releases. Usually every second ship (like when intel came out) now it's one in every 20 or so from what I've seen. And as for Geko I believe nothing he says. He boast that everything is awesome. The dude lives in a Lego Movie.
I have the Fed pack and the AHOD trait is the only good thing about them...
not sure where you've been, can't throw a rock in sector space lately without hitting a fed command tac cruiser
And yet Geko *JUST* said on the last P1 podcast that these ships were their most successful ever. I'm starting to see a pattern with the things this guy says and it's not comforting.
Oh he's a liar no doubt; thats what marketing people do for a living, particularly when the the product they're selling they have to try and convince people its chocolate. But in addition to all the ships you see there's all the people that bought it, ground out the trait, then ditched the ship and went back to something they actually like. Those probably outnumber the people actually flying the thing.
as opposed the phantom......oh wait
How does that 'oppose' anything? Thats why most people bought the Phantom, its what they'll do to sell the next batch of ships whether people fly them or not.
Then i felt sad because I love this game.

So what?
They can discount all they want, but if they're going to run their own games into the ground, i just can't justify giving them any real money.
If you say you don't see that many Command Cruisers, then you're either lying, lack observational skills, or you haven't played the game in 2 months.. because they're everywhere.
Putting them on sale is a smart move, they're appealing to those that are still on the fence and thinking 'should I just get it?'
As for the quality of the ships, they're very very good ships. I have the fed 3 pack, and personally I love them, I never fly anything else. I'm not too big on the Operations ship, but the Tactical and the Science Cruisers are beasts.
This proves to me that my observations about the command ships is true , and that Geko's statements on P1 is falsehood to try to promote sales of a poor performing ship as far as giving up intel ship for it . IMO
While I have seen them, I can not believe that the T6 ships have been overly succesfull, so chances are cryptic will have to step up to T7 and start earning cash.
In the meantime, T6 ships will have to earn themselves through discounts.
About the sale, id consider it a boost to players to make it a wee bit more affordable to get t6 ships as there arent that many different ships around yet to please everyones tast. Especially for Roms and Klingons there isnt too much too choose from and im not into the klingon t6 designs so far. Im hoping for a nice T6 Bop and a rom T6 sci ship.
The rom cruisers do look good but they arent ideal cannon ships and i prefer cannons on warbirds.
The Maha raptor for the klingons certainly has punch but for me its a one trick show and personly im pretty tired of straight forward firepower and only firepower. I like my gravwells, i like my dem3 and so on.
Well see. For the moment im more than busy getting my fed alt and my klingon to speed. My romulans for the moment only fly the odd mission but mostly just doff and resolve mining claims.
A fool and his wallet are easily parted, I suppose.
you say that but every 2nd or 3rd ship i saw the last week was a command one.

Like I've said before though, there are some people who just want the new shiny & don't care how good it actually is.
