I'd like to do some matches like before dr, when i used to play every f... day for more than 6h only arenas and cnh, solo and with fleeties, but now the serves are like dead: continuous dc's, rubberbanding and ui delays are driving me crazy, really :(
Just did an arena, it was going well, then BAAAM all my friend list disconnected, including me, and logging back again we were rubberbanding like on a 56k... meh

Eh..I can hold my own 1v1 in a t5u wells, vs intel ambush vapers (thats all intel ships)...its doable, just not easy. My toughest fight still is the ecplise a2b intel. OSS3 and SS3 + ionic ever 15 sec...The kobali console helps tremendously but ya gotta bring the dps before the next ss3 is ready.

TEAMS will almost always win out over pugs 9-10, its an mmo for christ sakes, make some new friends, your fleet dead but you got alot vested in it? F them! leave them! find some new friends

The PvP community in STO is nearly dead, no PvE'ers want to do serious PvP and the friends I made in STO are playing more fun and interesting games.

So I say F you. Stick with your broken game. I'm playing a better game where PvP is popular and promoted by the devs.

Not at you. Just replying in the same tone as your post.

I get that I should have moved on long ago, but I'm not an MMO guy. STO is the only one that I ever truly got into.

The reasons why STO was an exception was it's Star Trek, there was no real grind when I started playing, the game style was and is still unique and there was a good community.

Now it's all time and money sinks, grinds and PvP is broken.

    So yes, I'm mad.

I'm mad at Cryptic for designing clearly PvP oriented mechanics and then messing it up. I'm mad at Cryptic for going F2P and messing it up.

I never played Ultima Online but I remember when I was invited to a marriage late nineties. Well, after the church ceremony and festivities in real life they married a second time the next day playing at Ultima and I was one of the few friends amazed who watched the event!
People really lived a double life with Ultima!

Sal, sorry for the off topic.

ya thats was awsome!, its even was in the guiness book of world records there for 2000 for largest online community or something i think:)

I again, remember the frogger, pong, mario, wolfenstien- I grew up with these just horrible games LOL

just a practice in memory and hand-eye cordination, and then most of the time just a bit of luck to get onto the next level

it was frustrating! but because the frustration level was so high that when you did succeed you did have a massive sense of accomplishment:)

modern games are just amazing visually and with their complexity, also they keep going farther and farther away from boring repetative tasks and hand-eye cordination towards ease of play and engrossing stories- take a game like mega man and hand that to some kid and tell him to play it LOL you will get an ear full on what the games missing or how pointless or stupid most of the game is

its like the settliers carving out a living on the frontier, kids dying left and right, not enough food to make it through the winter, misery, just a life of misery
then fast forward them to now standing in line behind some kid thats losing his mind having to wait 10 minutes for his coffee while clutching his iphone LOL

i read so much about grind, grind, grind, and guys im right there with ya, grind sucks, i have grinded my bid for king and country years ago in mmo's, so i hate it just as much as the next guy, but man oh man, it still beats kite'n out in the fields for weeks and weeks strait on everquest, just mindlessly chewing through mobs for hours and hours and hours trying to get a drop LOL

virus made a post on the forums earlier this week pointing out to some folks the cost of gaming in sto vs having a subscription, rang pretty true to me as far as I am concerned

I dont know about the rest of you, but I cant go to the bar on a friday night without going through fifty bucks, LOL just one night, couple hours

for me? save me from 4 weeks of soul sucking grinding for couple bucks? count me in

but now, it seems that the best of what free to play could be is being twisted into pay to PLAY period, and gameplay, balance, glitches, all that seems to have fallen to the side in favor of blatant money grabs:(

I use to think free to play games where a brilliant idea, I have no problem pumping in my fair share of money to keep a great game going, but now- now I think that a subscription game is the best model, at least there- its focus is on balance, gameplay, content, and fixing glitches than just "what will get the players to swipe the credit card this week" LOL

ah well, lets hope the next star trek mmo really is a sweat thing, ill still be alive when that comes around so I cant wait, might even have voice activated controls on the ship, make use of holographic emitters in your home or something:)

NOT to say, this isnt fun LOL sto's tons of fun for me right now, pvp needs help real bad via t6 powers getting a tweak, but its still fun

good to see a little bit of the old ric back these last few weeks, happy someone got around to changing your diaper;P

I see your still cooking up another messiah complex with addressing the bug fixes- but, none the less good to have you back helping folks out again :) *slaps on back

messiah complex? well that's new. Let's just say that after Command was released, devs earned more respect from my side; they demonstrated they can make balanced stuff which are not PvP breaking. Lol, I dare anyone to say Command battle cruisers are overpowered. The fact they aren't makes me happy of piloting one.

I extensively tested every single space ability; Suppression Barrage III was a death sentence for a vaper, turned Surgical Strikes in Potato Strikes, slowed down zippy escorts to make them easier to be hit by my guns.

When I discovered that the accuracy debuff was not working, I went in cop mode.

no one really wins:( thats the sad part, we all lose for staying in this game for pvp when they dont give us any real support

its great ric rubbed it in borts face to get the fix, (sqeaky wheel always gets the oil and all), but ric, you, none of us should have to work so hard to get fixes to pvp- its going to be really sad if its six months post t6 release and they finally get around to viral torp :(

Working for fixes? Nah, I understood it is, was, a lost cause with the last EP so I just made a channel set with what the majority of the community wanted.

Eventually Salami is going to be our man, but I now play Foundry as well, some PvE, managing the fleet now that I have superpowers.

About Suppression Barrage III, as far as a friend of mine tells me, it worked fine until yesterday before the patch. Seems they screwed it up later, right when I discovered it was not working properly. The fact that it was a must have in my cannon build (beams are too mainstream) turned me in the bug cop.

This morning I shockingly entered a C&H after a minute I was queued. My happiness went down the WC when the *usual* rain of neutronic, ionic and surgical began to land.

So I went in Ker'rat, only to discover there that SB3 is bugged.

Then, bored to see T6 cheese heroes all around, I hopped back on my trustworthy Tempest and started punishing.

[11:46] [Combat (Self)] Your Nadion Saturation Bomb deals 59651 (73768) Phaser Damage(Critical) to Taz.

aw, got a little upset, didnt you ? :P Not surprising though, since my description matched the characteristics of your posting history quite precisely.

As to your above attempts to cast me in a negative light, I can tell you this:
If somebody deliberately tries to derail a thread by attacking the OP and his fleet explicitly with the purpose to wreck organized pvp-events in a time where the community has already shrunk to a fistful of players then I am allowed to defend myself right, or do I need to request your permission to do so, my supreme grandmaster beameddown? lol. And yea, Talon schizophrenia Jonas and his countless imaginative forum alt friends have been doing it fanatically for years and consequently he's the most known and salient individual with his past actions.

Furthermore there are/were guys out there who've put their energy and efforts for the benefit of the pvp-playerbase nothing else, none of them were power hungry maniacs, but hey you can call me a "tyrant" since everyone is entitled to freedom of speech. However the way how you express your view indicates a lack of coherence and gratitude for people giving their very best and sacrificing alot of free time/play time to set the ball rolling.
Yet, all you can do is mashing immense walls of never-ending stories into the forums with a 100% mindless content and without any recognizeable structure. Even a 5-years old preschool kid comes up with a more correlative syntax than you will ever be able to.
I would even dare to set up the thesis that you spend more time in the forums to write down your long-winded novels than in-game which seems to be somewhat pitiful.

In the end it is your cheap attempt of provocation which validates the pathetic display of your thinking and acting.

However right now yes adapting is just not going to happen. There is far to much grind involved.
The amount of grind has become absurd. Not even pouring ridiculous $$$ solves the problem.

If it wasn't for the hefty time cost attached to DR, I am convinced some PvP fleets would still be alive and kicking.
