As player who watched all 5 Anniversaries , I think that STO community of players have right to know whats going on with you ppl. in PW&C , do you have anything to say about magnificent 5th Anniversary debacle?
I am asking STO community of players for good of this game to unite and put the pressure with any means (like Players Strike) until this torturing of Star Trek idea stops and change in to something better if not then cease to exist.
PS.It wasn't Anniversary it was GAME SHUTDOWN !!!!
It is not rage, it is call for inside change !
In the beginning there was all and then become nothing
I AM PISSED OFF AFTER 3 YRS. I STILL CAN'T USE OR CHANGE OR DELETE OUTFIT IN 3 OF 5 OUTFIT SLOTS ON MY KLINGON TOON !

I want them to send me a strippergram apology...but need to coordinate the timing on it so the girlfriend's not home.
Hrmm, actually...I'd settle for a bag of Cheetos and some Diet Mountain Dew. Don't need the apology, but I've kind of got the munchies here while waiting for the server to come back up.
There's been a lot of really bad movies where things rise up. Like terminator salvation where first the robots rose up against the humans, but then the humans rose up against the robots. That movie would have been so much better if Christian Bale had at some point used Bat Skynet Repellant.
STO is like a great party where the police have to be called in the end.
Or as I said in-game, "It's not a Star Trek Online expansion unless there's massive rubberbanding lag, new systems are a disaster, the game's got new bugs that make missions unplayable and there's an emergency patch before the end of the day"
OP, you should rage-quit, and pass up getting the free T6 ship on principle. TAKE A STAND!
Me, I'll keep having fun playing the game without going off the deep end about a hiccup on day one. And in a couple of weeks I'll be flying around in another free T6 ship. The free Breen carrier is a lot of fun, and it was free. But you've apparently already forgotten about it since it's been a few weeks.

people here will mock you, mostly because of how you chose to post this sentiment. If it's any small consolation, I've been seeing multiple fleet chatter of people trying to do something like you're proposing. It's a noble idea, to fight for what you care about, even if it's a game but it's a futile effort in the end. They will continue to press and gouge and more and more people will leave as time goes on. When it's no longer making them money, there will be a message where these forums used to be thanking people for playing STO, the greatest MMO ever and how we had all these wonderful memories. And that will be that.
Until then, the "great things coming in 2015" are great for them, not the players. This is the year of dil sinks and monotization. Gameplay is an afterthought.
But rage on, little rager! I admire your tenacity. If more people weren't so complicit, the only reason STO is still going, maybe we could have held Cryptic to a higher standard.
Have long time players become complacent and too accepting of what some would consider subpar performance because of developing a tolerance over the years; and does this manifest itself with the subconscious need to mock those complaining about that subpar performance as some form of defense mechanism?
Maybe I'm desensitised to these sorts of patch day issues after playing multiple different MMO's... I've played WoW on and off for nearly 9 years and these sorts of patch day emergency maintenance windows are nothing unusual even for the almight Blizzard Entertainment...

Rise of the Tribbles!
and then...
Revenge of the Tribbles
culminating with...
Tribble Twilight
They're mad, dammit, and they're not gonna take it any more!

you see that's part of the problem right now, first let me tell you, cryptic doesn't owe you anything if they choose to tell you something you choose to apologize that's all well and good but please leave your sense of entitlement at the door, this incessant piling on because that's what it is it doesn't matter if cryptic gave you everything in the game for free you would still browbeat them, it's just gone too far now, I think I saw one posting here about the good job they did on the story dust to dust.... All the rest just tear fuel for my warp core, good Lord if they changed the graphics above the forums you guys would burn them alive... As I've said before it's just gone too far now just stop
To explain my self I am not in the rage mode , just have a experience with other much older games then STO especially one called EvE Online I play this game from beginning. CCP was ones like Cryptic now, 4 or 5 yrs ago after one massive players strike, everything is changed in a positive way to be better and better. But CCP is Island gaming company , is it possible to change the way of thinking to American gaming company ?
Every online game depends on players community if Gaming company do not involved and listen that community the game will goes down.

A point I've tried to make I don't know how many times. TRIBBLE, you can buy a T-shirt about it!
I guess some folks are just new to this whole MMO thing...

So, about all that can be said really is :
Suck it up princess...
Let's be fair here, I've played numerous MMOs going all the way back to the launch of EQ. In all my years of playing MMOs, I've never seen a game have as many problems as bad or as often as STO does. There is something seriously wrong with their QA process, and always has been.
Um... I'm not sure I understand the OP. Could you elaborate on what's wrong? Remember though, "Bonk bonk on the head" is not an acceptable answer. Neither is "blah blah blah."

I fully agree, Cryptic's track record is far from stellar but, having said that, patch day problems are common place with all MMO's, yet the way some people carry on, Cryptic are the only Developer to ever **** up a patch or xpack...
Again, perhaps my experiences vary, but I wouldn't say STO is clearly the most unreliable MMO I have ever played...
I can say though, it's definitely far from being the most reliable...
Regardless of stability, to demand formal apologies and explanations for a single day's issues (and posting this within hours of the patch going live) is entitlement at it's worst...
What quality of tech and design employees does STO have working for them?
Are the tech and design problems STO has, an indication of a less than average quality of employee working in those areas?
Is the general dissatisfaction found after an update in chat, forums and reddit indicative of the general player base?
Answer to that one is no.
They employ people who tick the right boxes in terms of qualifications but are not the most experienced in the area they work in. Sure they are qualified but have no prior experience with the code they are working on.
Also if on the job training is anything like my place of work it is bare essentials and the employee/Developer is left with a trial and error way of learning the in's and out's of their profession, thats probably why we end up with some questionable programming errors.
All companies do this. They want the best, sing the tune of being the best, but in practice train employee's with minimal time and effort to be completely effective in their role. And use below par equippment as its cheap to fix and replace if it breaks.

Cryptic: oops?
