I LOVED that bit! I was like, "Hey, Gaul, I know that you're a genocidal psychopath, but if you're going to kill these lazy d*cks, I'll help you and then let you go afterwards, because they're annoying as f*ck".

I mean, after running around the station to get spices for that numb-nuts? I wanted to shoot him myself. What sort of blithering incompetent made THAT loser a chef??????

for being Numero Uno in the poll, you are very grumpy today..

To be honest, I dislike any portion of ANY mission that involves making an Admiral do stupid s**t like collect spices, motivate idiot Talaxians, tell meeting delegates to sit down, scan rocks, mine dilithium, chase bunnies etc.
    etc.

Yeah, seriously, I'm of a rank that entitles me to literally command half of Starfleet, why the heck am I collecting spices for a Talaxian civilian who's too lazy to get off his fat rear and get them himself? Telling delegates to sit the f*ck down I can sort of quasi-understand, given that there are very few if any Starfleet personnel in that room to begin with, but...yeah. Gameplay and story segregation to some extent, otherwise just...yeah.

Hell, even if you're like me and headcanoning it to where you're a captain, not an admiral, it's still not your job. Those jobs belong to junior enlisted men, not command-level officers.

Only Captain-level or higher character I write who'd do scut work is Three, and that's because she's not so much an augmented human as a malfunctioning biological robot.

I'll take Loads And Loads of Dialogue over scut work any day.

Having fairly freshly played through all the episodes again (to level an alt):

    1. Coliseum - strips off all your gear, annoying enemies, and then makes you run long distances. Ugh.

    2. Step Between The Stars x3 - EVA is novelty that wears thin, and the build they use for the Dyson destroyer is terrible forced incompetence.

At least with the Obelisk your Swarmers do the work, so your pathetic build is workable, but in Step Between The Stars you have more (and now tougher) enemies, so it's a slog even if you're at no risk of dying.

I actually think they could have lampshaded it very nicely if as soon as Neelix starts asking you to do stuff, he and Tuvok would have gotten into a running argument as you help Neelix with Tuvok insisting you have something better to do with your time. I'd still be doing stupid stuff but the entertainment value of such an argument could be great.

Indeed, it would...especially if you could say "TRIBBLE this" and have the interacts turn into "Make Neelix do X" and so forth, with humorous results from his incompetence that you have to fix because you have a functioning brain.
