...you remember the lags in kerrat due to the jem shield/BFI doff proccing.
or the rage when the maco shield was fixed. (the whole "reduce damage TO 10% thing)
or when the excelsior was considered "op".

You know you are a true STO veteran when...

You remember getting the MACO/KHG and Omega ground set from actually running ground content to get random drops, rather then filling up a progress bar.

When it took over 80 runs just to get your gun from Cure.

When you remember the early mission (long since removed) in which you went to a mining colony which has disgruntled workers. You then talk to all of them, who in turn quiz you on whether your actually read what they said. Then you tell the Mine supervisor.

Then you get back to fighting Klingons.

I did that mission today, if it's the same one. it's a patrol mission in a system between sol and vega , don't remember the name as I did a bunch of patrols today

If you have a CD version of Star Trek Online

If you remember playing your first month of STO and still hadn't made Commander yet

You were there for (or even know there was) the GREAT Serverpocalypse of May 2013 :P

When leveling a Klingon to 50 felt like the best accomplishment in STO.

You are a Treu Veteran is you remember the battles with Kllingon BoPs in your Light Cruiser at the beginning of Close Beta. Every battle was 5 minutes of sheer terror. And you dreaded moment when they started cloak. And that was for experienced players.

Note: And yes there was some players were saying to keep it that difficult even back then.

That's actually still in the game, it's the patrol mission on Beytan 5..

The leader of the mining colony (Brian Vanderberg) is a descendant of Chief Engineer Vanderberg from the STO episode "The Devil in the Dark".

It's exactly the same as it was on day one of the game.
(only back then it was part of a 3 Patrol Mission one got from the original "Where's Sulu" character)

When you used to go to Memory Alpha and trade mats, and there was no progress bar on the Aegis gear that you were crafting. :D

When you could get the Aegis Gear by just playing three missions.

Did you check to see if you can convert those to R&D mats? I know the shuttle data got added to the list of stuff you can convert.

Naaahh... I'm keeping them for nostalgic reasons.

I got well over 1500 of each of the Common, Uncommon and Rare Mats just from converting my old data samples collected through the years on 6 alts.

And close to 350 of each of the Very Rare mats just from the conversion and playing the game for the last few months.

I haven't done any crafting since 9.5 hit. Just doing the 20 hour Research Projects.

I think I kept at least one of my shuttle data things.

It's fun linking it into zone chat and watching the newer players wonder what it is.

When you've bought a T3 Excelsior for energy credits.
When you had to level a fed to like level 25 before you could get a KDF character
