Picard's still alive, although the Irumodic Syndrome has turned him into a vegetable.

So what there is absolutely no canon in this game what so ever.It was the wrong time to start this game as it should of started off in 2230.I would love to see some races from StarFleet Battles enter the game after all it has taken off of Star Fleet Command.

Headcanon that I've been using in stories is that Riker is currently C-in-C Starfleet (a.k.a. Commander, Starfleet, the equivalent to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs).

Ignore him. Based on prior behavior he's demonstrably the absolute worst kind of fanboy where TOS is concerned and loves to stick his fingers in his ears and hum when people bring up Kirk's death in Generations. He also can't do basic arithmetic.

Montgomery Scott may still be alive in 2410. He was back active in Starfleet in the 2380's. But in all likelyhood, he would retired by this time.

I've had arguments with the guy. It's like arguing with stupid. Drags you down to his level then beats you to death. Best to simply ignore and move along. He gets frustrated and leaves on his own.

Admiral McCoy was 137 in TNG ... so what ...

Did he ever officially die either? What's human life expectancy at this point anyway?

Also, shouldn't Scotty still be out in the universe somewhere? He skipped forward a good amount.

As far as soft canon - Kirk is out there still according to ol' Bill Shatner. Half Borg or something at this point, but whatever, it's still Kirk. Yay dopey resurrections.

Oh I am SURE the same has be said about me, but I don't give a frak. Least I don't blatantly ignore the game's back story and canon just to make myself feel better then try to ram it down everybody's throat.

My headcanon is that Galaxy Dreadnaught program was Admiral Riker's pet project and that he's flying around somewhere out there in a dreadnaught'd USS Galaxy. Also that's he's developed a reputation as a bit of a jackass. :D

Looking at that eyesore of a website and comparing it to your skills at

    a) forming and communicating a relevant and cogent point, and

    b) thinking your point thru and applying common sense to it before trolling a thread

I can see a stunning correlation. You are either very bad at communicating bad ideas, or you are very good at creating stunningly half-baked ideas and communicating them poorly. Admin status on a frankly unattractive and content-free website adds no weight to any of your statements - if fact, it subtracts from them significantly.

If you can't wrap [your] head around it, I hardley [sic] see why you bother.

edit: Side note, McAfee and Norton both detect startrek-gamers[dot]com as a suspicious and potentially dangerous site. Not that I place a whole lot of faith in those tools, but they don't do that lightly. You should probably remove that link from your signature.

Frak you at what you say about a site that has been around and represented all of Trek gameers since 1999 over decade of it.

What ever the rest of what you trying to say is questionable.I got good communication skills but dealing with people with closed minds is hard to communicate with as for my Idea i got lots of great ideas. You have no idea of what that site did for Trek Gamers over the past decade as this only represents one game we represent them all.

STG is far better forum atleast we use the BBCode and can sent PMs instantly unlike this core connect.

Norton and McAfee are junk.I bet you are lieing you teeth off.

I want to know which well known characters from all shows are still among the living in STO.
Not the real life persons rather the figures they represented in the shows.
I am mainly interested in the fate of Janeway, Chakotay, Sisko, Picard, Riker, Troy, Data.
there are lot more interesting characters but we all know these guys best.
Are the faces and appearance of Star Trek actors actually the property of CBS or do they have to ask/pay Patrick Stewart for permission if they wanted to show Captain/Admiral Picard in the game?
I know they don't wanna show famous Trek persons without proper voices, it just doesn't feel right so it's unlikely we'll see them in STO. I still would like to know who's around still even if old and retired.

The famous ones are mentioned here.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

dealing with people with closed minds is
... not really necessary for you. After all, you are talking here with people that want to know more or want to share about how Startrek Online continues the Star Trek story into the 2410s.
These people are obviously open minded, since they want to hear about something they don't already know.

Of course the STO story is not canon in the way the series are - but for STO, it's what has happened so far.

And whether STO is set in 2410 or 2365 or 3500 - it cannot avoid to create new stories that are not part of the established canon. After all, we don't just want to replay the shows word by word*, and anything else would not be part of what was already established.

*) Well, sometimes we want, but that's why Q created Blu-Rays.

    He's not the only survivor.

They "lost" the ship (careful not to say it blew up since I think CBS made it open ended) and the story indicated that Data saved most of the crew, who made it back without the ship from fluidic space.

I feel like the last couple of pages of this thread should be in the "what are we 5 years old" thread. :)
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Yeah, I went really out of hand there - to quote Peter Lorre in the Maltese Falcon "I felt distinctly like an idiot."

I still want to know though, is McCoy officially dead yet?

While his death is never mentioned in the series he would be 183 in the game's current timeline. I am certain he is well dead - as he looked near-death in his appearance in episode 1 of TNG. :)
