I am assuming that you're complaining about the Winter Event. Well stop it, it's the best content in the game at the moment.

Shockingly enough, there seem to be a lot of pepole that like it.

I find it a bit on the silly side, but I always wanted that Breen Cruiser, and the Carrier could be interesting, too.

Maybe the PVE folks are 5 year olds, but Geko's already said the PVP folks are 14 year olds. ;)

Yeah, just because that stuff is there - doesn't mean you have to participate in it. There's all sorts of stuff in the game that makes me /facepalm...so I don't do it, but I'm not going to begrudge somebody else that enjoys it.

This! :) Iam waiting for more then a month for this event. Because its different to the pew pew content. It's just fun and i love the winter/christmas atmosphere.

Unless Cryptic destroyed the game experience for the winter event too.

Just as an FYI, not everyone who plays STO is a 40 year old Trekkie. My children play STO - and my son has a whole Fleet of friends his own age he plays with.

The next time you feel the need to nerd rage about some Content in a game remember a couple of things:

1: Not every piece of Content is designed for everyone in the game. It is OK to not like something but also realize you are not its target audience and that there are more people then just you playing.

2: STO is a game. It is designed to be played rather then lived. Do not take it all so seriously. It is here for people to have fun and get a laugh or two. Even the various Trek series had nonsensical and comedic aspects.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

I dont know if i was a dev i would want to take pride in my work and create things that i could be proud of that other devs would respect. Im sure if you showed this content to other mmo developers on other games except maybe bronies online or hello kitty online they would laugh you out of the room. and the only 14 yr olds who live in there parents basement work for cryptic just watch the livestreams and you will see what im talking about. I doubt anyone at cryptic is a true trek fan and no getting married on the defient bridge doesnt make you a trek fan it makes you a moron.

There is a big difference between nonsensical and comedic and downright childish and stupid im glad your child plays this game but i wasnt aware that 5 year olds were there target audience.

Don't you remember the TOS episode where Spock shoots a giant snowman in the face with a shoulder-mounted snowball launcher?

There is nothing better then someone telling everyone else what type of Trek fan they should be - or telling them they are not a true Trek fan if they do not think like them. Rage on!

What are even going on about? Q's antics throughout Star Trek are largely nonsensical and comedic. This entire event with Q just messing around and giving us Borg snowmen to fight fits in perfectly with what we've seen on screen. None of this is "childish and stupid."

I was just saying the same thing to a fleetmate the adults are to smart to spend real money so lets target the kids with daddys credit card.

So far the Winter Event seems to be one of the few events in STO that has not been overly monetized.

The whole thing might be quite campy but it is by far the most enjoyable event that STO has IMO.

I'm also greatly looking forward to the new Breen T6 Science Carrier, my KDF and Fed Science Characters will make great use of it :)

It's Q, that pretty much justifies all kinds of randomness, silliness and craziness during events hosted by him and it's great. :D

Like in life, in game many of us need a non-serious way to unwind after all the grind. As it's been said, just keep away from the Winter Wonderland if you hate anything that isn't CoD in space so much; I doubt anyone will mind having one less child foaming at the mouth over people having fun.

Might be a shocking concept, but Adults might enjoy silly stuff, from time to time ... we don't all have sticks up our asses ... or are 15 year olds, who are too cool for school ...

Besides, some people might say playing video-games is silly & childish per se ... you could as well read Shakespeare in the meantime, so what are you doing here ?

Grumpy old man, can i haz your candies?
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

As a 40 year old Star Trek fan from ToS to JJ Trek, I actually like the Winter Event. It's original and fun. The Winter Event isn't any more ridiculous than some of the various Trek episodes. Plus STO is a game after all.

Since I already outed myself for liking the Winter Event and JJ Trek, I also like other Sci-Fi including Star Wars.

Sounds like she want's to make your nephew or niece happy. As all parents should spend more on their kids. Some kids are not lucky and don't understand why other parents don't spend on their kids. Cheers to your Sister!

As for the Winter Event 2014 it shows you what else they can do for us, beside space battles and Bio Dino in ground battlezones. It's a huge change and adding Frosty The Borg Snowmen to it is very clever!
