Game Process Priority set to Below Normal by default

On my poor laptop I have been having issues with lag and frame drops in high combat maps for many month, Since about season 9. I assumed it was my laptop until I stumbled on this setting being lower then what I expected.

When I set it to above normal instead my combat has improved drastically. Everytime I close and relaunch it resets back to below normal. In Windows 7 I could save priority. I'm not sure how to do that in windows 10 yet but I will look for it.

I'm not sure if this is just a windows 10 issue but I am wondering why this game by default is set to a low priority?

It is not a Win10 only issue, as my Win7 does the same thing. However, I would love to know how to save the priority, unless you are referring to an add on application or using the command line to start it.

    edit:

    Interesting:

The launcher runs at 'normal' priority. However, using the command line to set priority does not effect the game client.

Also, the 'below normal' setting is not consistent across different computers. I have 5 systems that have STO installed, from oldest to newest:
Win7-1 - Game client runs at 'normal'
Win7-2 - Game client runs at 'normal'
Win7-3 - Game client runs at 'below normal'
Win7-4 - Game client runs at 'normal'
Win7-5 - Game client runs at 'normal'

They are all Intel I7, 16 GB RAM, with all having an SSD, NVidea GPUs (different models). Win7-3 is using a GTX 650 TI. Which is not the slowest GPU, as "Win7-5" has that limitation. Or the fastest as "Win7-1" has a GTX 690.
