The fact that this thread has over 1000 sarcastic replies in less than a week, all showing discontent with DR really should be a neon warning sign to management.

According to metrics, the entire thread is a bug. Everyone is happy, those posts and signs are bugs.
You will now have fun.
Ahem, I thought the point of the thread was to have fun with it. No seriousness, you'll draw in more folks looking for a debate than looking for a chuckle. :P
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.

My guess is "hope" keeps people not playing but posting on the forums. For others, its a path of sad realization and closure. Grieving takes time. The worst "haters" here love the game, or did at some point.
Hehe, change the background color on how you are viewing the forums (or Select All) and consider what virusdancer was actually commenting on with the last one you included. It's clever, and it's not actually about Delta Rising at all. Actually, whenever folks leave an odd blank space in a post or sig it's worth doing that, since some folks enjoy leaving clues or Easter Eggs.

sorry, invoking an image of Hitler and TRIBBLE crosses the line.. far to offensive
What if it's supposed to be in jest? You don't know that.

I think it depends on ones point of view.
For those who lost family to the mass extermination of life in the Holocaust at the hands of these men, I dont think they would see the humor that, for example, someone born in the US 40 or 50 years after the said events might.
I guess it would be akin to showing the horrors of Hiroshima, the boiled skin and mass death caused by the US as they tested a nuclear bomb on two villages killing and maiming thousands as nothing more than a show of power might not resonate as humorous to the Japanese families that were tormented by these events. Or, to bring it a little closer to home, if you showed a lynching by the Klu Klux Klan in Southern America as humorous, I think you might get some negative feedback.
Im not judging you by any sense. I am merely playing Devils Advocate here.
EDIT:
Its a fine balance.
It is impossible to post anything that doesnt offend someone somewhere. Thats the magic of the Internet. As is the fact anyone can post anything with relative anonymity. The balance is in not purposefully posting content with the intention to offend. A fine line indeed.
I have seen more than my share of offensive content around the web and I have decided the only way to deal with it is to ignore it. Theres no sense in trying to fix or censor the Internet so my point of view is, if it offends me when I view it, it cant offend me if I stop viewing it.
Turning things on its ear a little, there arent many here who wouldnt find an image of Adolph Hitler in a tutu getting a pineapple rammed up his nethers as anything other than humorous. However, that is not to say the image wouldnt offend someone.
So I guess in the spirit of friendship we both have apart to play in this. Try not to post things that are intentionally offensive and try not to be offended by things that are not.
Yeah it does - two of my Grandparents spent time in Russian camps during WWII (they were Croatian) - I might find Stalin references slightly offensive, so I can see where someone might be coming from.
On the other hand, lets be honest - many of the other references are thinly veiled nods to the behaviors of various dictators, real and fictitious, and some of the Trek references are allegories on the Hitlerites anyway, so really, whatever.
Side question - if you were to use stills of Kirk and Spock in full WWII regalia from that one episode, would that still be as offensive?

Yeah I was gonna say something, but I figured it would get banhammered quickly enough without starting a debate in-thread.
