Next step? Says who? It's just an adaptation of the Galaxy frame, not an evolutionary step. There's no reason the technology of the stock Galaxy class can't be updated to T6 along with the Dreadnought Cruiser.
Gal-X is already pointless. Say hi to the phantom that can do everything it can do minus the hanger, but trades much better turn rate for it, AND has a way better phase lance, Boff seating, the whole 9 yards.
Sorry Gal-X is already pointless.
And the built-in cloak, don't forget about that. =p
Galaxy went obsolete when the Odysseys arrived, and later, the Guardian. The Odysseys also have higher potential to be a T6 due to one of them being the bearer of the Enterprise name.
Galaxy X went obsolete when Vestas with their own lance weapon and better debuffing/damage potential in addition to better defense capabilities came, and was completely rendered useless with the Phantom and all that it can do. Heck, Cryptic even teased the possibility of a Guardian X during the Guardian livestream.

I still love the Galaxy X, and I'd like a T6 version of it. The naysayers can go chew on some rocks for all I care.
But neither are active hero ships, and people clamoring for a Galaxy and Defiant on the grounds of them being Hero ships like the Voyager is in DR, automatically puts the Odyssey, Scimitar, and Bortesqu in the lead as well on the same grounds as they're the respective lead ship for each of the three factions.
Not to mention, moneywise, the Odysseys, Bortesqu, and Scimitars make Cryptic far more money than Defiants or Galaxy/Galaxy Xs. (The same applies to the Vestas, but they never starred as a hero ship).
I'm sure they'll come eventually, but probably not with the current Specialization. Probably in a future one, that would better fit the theme of both ships the way Cryptic sees it (Intel is mainly Sci/Tac, so maybe Eng/Tac as the next specialization?).
For Federation, there are five era's that should receive an overhaul (interior-wise), three of them already got one: TOS (Connie), DS9 (Defiant), VOY (Intrepid) ... so the remaining ones are TNG (Galaxy) and ETP (NX).
For the Klinguns and the Remulans (Remans / Romulans), canon interiors are very difficult, because none of them can really be seen in any of the TV series. We barely saw half of a Mogai bridge in Nemesis. We did see more or less a full Scimitar bridge and some corridors. We saw quite a bit of a D'deridex-class interior in the Troi episode (TNG). Negh'var interior? Close to zero (some snippets in WOTW, DS9). Vor'cha interior? Only one room with K'mpec inside (TNG). B'rel Bird-of-Prey interior ... prully the best materials so far (TNG, DS9).
Meow, so yeah ... I think the Galaxy-class starship bundle should be the next in line, and then an NX-bundle.

Unfortunately, people seem to not like Enterprise as much as the other series (which is a shame, ENT got better in the 4th season! Excluding the finale). TNG interiors were made in this game's development phase, but for some reason were scrapped.

I'm thinking that the first Enterprise to be T6 will be the Enterprise-G.

Yes. This. Or a t6 stock galaxy combined with a redone mesh!

I would be happy with an actual K't'inga model that wasn't just a tricked out D7.
