Intrepid got T6'd. Now, how about Galaxy?

Exactly what the title says. Intrepid gets special treatment. I think it's about time the Galaxy gets T6'd as well. (Defiant too!)

Considering how similar the Guardian looks to the Galaxy and how similar the Phantom is to the Defiant...I wouldn't expect either any time soon.

Still, if the Gal X and Scim get a T6 upgrade I'll be happy as we have far too few choices fo T6 with hangars

Yes, because the last Galaxy revamp worked so well.

Which revamp are you referring to? The one where they threw an extra console on it and called it a set bonus?

t6 version will have a Lt. engineering instead of an ensign engineering just because...

but hey at least it would be able to use two intel powers.

I assume all the Hero Ships will eventually get a T6. It would be stupid to make a T6 Intrepid and not a Galaxy or Defiant - especially as those ships are far more popular in canon then the Voyager.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

I'd rather the Luna, the Sentinel, the Trident, the Hegh'ta, the Negh'var, or the Vo'quv before the Galaxy gets another update.

And in more fairness, the Galaxy never got an update, the Galaxy X did. They are not the same thing after all. Just throw the defiant/galaxy skins onto the phantom/Guardian as both those ships are what the Galaxy and Defiant should have been boff layout wise to begin with.

Why bother? As long as there is no fleet T6 with it its a waste of money for just one boff slot extra compared to the fleet T5.5 And even 1 less console than the t5u11 version.

Maybe some strange ppl out there do that but i assume most ppl that spend 3k zen on a ship would want it to be better than what is already available.

It at least got a two-piece set bonus. The Defiant never even got that. The 6 ships I mentioned in my post above never even got a Z-store version. And the Romulans need more ships in general.

The Galaxy should be a lot lower on the dev's priority list IMO. At least until more specializations come out. I dunno about anyone else, but I kinda want to see the three hero ships having different specializations in BOFF seats.

Find a way to add the Galaxy skin onto the Guardian, even if parts are not interchangeable, and I might actually buy one.

For me the guardian and the Phantom fill the galaxy and the defiant spots. I actually like how the guardian looks and if I were to buy a T6 cruiser I would prefer the guardian over the galaxy anyways. But as it is right now, I would rather get a token off the exchange to upgrade my Avenger.

Personally, I hope that they don't 'revamp' anymore T5 ships. I just don't feel it's a good path for them to take, it makes players angry.

For example, I love my Scimitar. Yes, it's powerful.. but I enjoy it because I love the ship. I went nuts over it the first time I saw it in Nemesis and I love the way it looks. I made a Romulan just to fly that ship. I didn't buy the pack, I bought the Scimitar model only.

I paid $25 for that ship and consider it money well spent. I LOVE the ship.

But if they released a new 'better' Scimitar for $30 I have to admit that would hit me the wrong way. They would do what? add 1 boff ability and the ability to use Intel Doffs and want another $30 from me? I think stuff like this causes ill will among people that have paid for previous versions of their ships.

you change the toilet but not the plumbing, in the end it will still overflow. the galaxyfail will remain as it is i would imagine. besides if cryptic is working on its own designs, it maybe sometime before another canon ship gets the t6 treatment and then you got the klingons and romulans who desperately need more t6 ships.
    T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW.

Comparison you mean, Hell NO those T6 are Intel Boats What the OP wants is those ships out there with T6 without the Intel slots !!!

I hope they add a new specialization before they add the Tier 6 Galaxy.

And I still think an EXPLORATION Cruiser should be more science focused, rather than just "ultra-engineering" focused.

Of course this time it will work better, everyone knows that what the it really needed all along was yet another engineering console slot!

In reality, while the ens eng being upgraded to a lt. uni would be nice, the lt. sci or lt. tac becoming intel slots would be kinda a waste, and the 5th engineering console slot will just be silly. Stat and seating wise I don't see a reason for it vs the FT5U version.

That leaves just the Starship Trait, of which Fed have 6 now (vs 2 KDF and 2 RR), most of which are tank-ish or heal-ish, another cruiser may not be the way to go.

the guardian is basically the T6 galaxy, plus it looks good, there is no need for (another) T6 galaxy IMO, and i like the galaxy.

Ships that deserve a full T6 version are:

    Intrepid (got it)
    Galaxy
    Defiant
    Sovereign
    Vor'Cha
    Negh'Var
    B'Rel
    D'Deridex
    Mogai

Why? Because those are the definite canon ships that got most of the screentime and are still of current technology (especially with Cryptics refit line-up) to get that treatment logically (in fact, every Type-6 ship should get it, but oh well).

I personally would also like to see a new Nebula with a secondary deflector and calypso support vessel, but meh :D. The flagships (Oddy, Bortas, Scimitar) should by all means get a T6 upgrade as well, because otherwise it wouldn't make any sense.

And no, the guardian is not a new galaxy. It's a new Ambassador, the design borrows heavily from probert's original Ambassador design. And the Phantom is a intel ship. Nobody wants the T6 canon ships to be intel specialist, just be able to use Lt intel abilities.

yes yes, it does borrow from probert's ambassador, but its still its own ship and it does feel like an upgrade to the galaxy, and we already have the venture, which is supposed to be an upgrade to the galaxy as well, AND the gal-X which is also another upgrade to the galaxy, seriously how many galaxies do we need?

The Galaxy did get a T6 upgrade. It's called the Guardian. It's like....one of the only updates to a previous canon ship that I would be happy to see kept in the setting.

Cryptic finally made a decent ship that looks Starfleet and it's still apparently unacceptable.

I completely agree with the OP. If, as evidence would have it now, the Intrepid is acceptable for T6 then so should the Galaxy and every other iconic ship from Star Trek (Defiant, D'Deridex, B'rel, Vor'cha, Negh'var, Sovereign, Mogai and by Kahless - yes, even the K'tinga and Excelsior). Nitpicking at this point would be pointless, Cryptic has once again stepped on their own words and now it's fair game for any iconic ship to be implemented via exactly same methods as the Intrepid.
Too bad this happened through a disgusting business practice of quadruple dipping via the T5-U, while for months we've been telling them that many of us would buy proper T6 versions of the beloved canon ships.

Although, like I mentioned in the Galaxy thread, I'd prefer to see what other kinds of new Boff profiles will come before shoehorning the Galaxy into the only current one, cause the whole "intel" thing just rubs me the wrong way - moreso considering the Galaxy Class and her lore.

While this sounds great, it took them over four years to implement a new type of boff skillset. Do you think there will be others?

The Intrepid gets the T6 treatment because this Expansion is about the Voyager story. The Galaxy has zero to do with this story, so I don;t see it happening. There would be no in-game reason for it.

The Galaxy is done, long live the Guardian.

Agreed that the Galaxy has no place for a T6. But I don't feel it ever should. Unless they plan on continuing the TNG iconian story, maybe with LaForge as captain of a new Galaxy class like in Voyager, I don't think ships liem the galaxy or the defiant should ever have a T6 version.

As for the Galaxy being done and long live the Guardian, I highly doubt the Guardian would outlast the Galaxy in a fight. I've done many stfs in my advanced fleet galaxy and had guardians in my group. They rarely lasted much longer than anything else, mostly because their boff layout doesn't allow for the incredible tank/heal ability granted to the galaxy. The galaxy class will always have a place in this game, and it will have it as a T5-U.
