I bought a 4-pack and used them on the FACR, Tac Vesta, Fleet Tor'kaht and Fleet Vo'quv. I still have the vet reward token in its box and I don't know what I'll use it on.
So that's what was worth upgrading to me :V which isn't helpful to you.
I am not sure there is a T5 worth upgrading to me.
To me, the question is less about the ships and more about the end-game where I would use those ships. There is no end-game anymore (PVP is dead, grinding is all thats left) and its not worth paying money for a non-existent end-game, so none of it is justifiable to me.
Most aren't worth upgrading besides ones that upgrade for free like lockbox, lobi, event, and doff promo ships. Only other ship that is even slightly competitive with t6 is the Scimitar, so an upgrade token is worth it for that only.
I upgraded my Steamrunner to T5U simply because I always loved that ship. The Ensign Science leaves a little to be desired, but I love the design, flaws and all.

I almost made my Rom Tac my main, but he doesn't have any free T5U upgradable ships and I just don't see the Romulans getting a future level of ships and other support that I will be happy with. My fed tac has all sorts of toys and both breen ships so I chose to keep him as my main. If I had stuck with my rom tac the scimi would a no brainer, I still might go back and do it at some point, but the lack of content is dissuading me from caring about my other toons.

The steamrunner and the akira are two of my favorites as well. Another thing that the HEC has going for it in my book.
To find what the T5U configuration will be for your T5 ship:
In game, go to a Shipyard, select the ship, select the Mastery tab and click on the Upgrade button. It'll show you when the upgrade will entail.
So it won't automatically charge me? I don't remember the process from when I upgraded my breen ships and I don't want to waste zen on a token (using my EC).
Gotta say, upgrading my Tac Odyssey to T5-U has breathed new life into the vessel. A 4th tac slot and a lot of extra hull resist makes it a lot better all round, a great beam tank with a lot of potential! This particular one did well out of the upgrade, I can't speak for the others.
Homeworld 2 ship.
Design of Homeworld 1 and 2 ships were awesome. Except for the space banana. And Homeworld 1 was an awesome game, exceptionally beautiful when it was released, difficult but not frustrating, incredible music (adagio for strings, made me cry), with awesome cutscenes and story.
with DR if you want to play advanced and elite...normal doesn't matter
Any ship on a romulan lol...It all about dps now and the feds are in last place in dps
I use my fed toons for ground....... romulans for space I wont even waste my resources upgrading the weapons on my feds for space
As long as romulans get 7.5% crit chance advantage over my fed and Klingon characters I see no reason to use anything but a romulan for space combat
why waste millions of resource and then zen to upgrade my weapons and ship for space combat on my fed when it can only do 1/2 the dps of my romulan character

Indeed, same happened with my Gal-X except it added a 5th Eng console... the thing is a tank..... more interesting, when I saucer sep now the stardrive is like a heavily armored escort. I do have Oddys myself, thinking in my next round of upgrading to T5U I will do at least one Oddy and One Vesta and One Bort..... as I'll likely buy the pack I may use the other to do an additional oddy or bort. Most upgrades I've done have added eng consoles, my Scimi gained one, my Gal-X gained one and my Avenger and Mogh gained one..... typically been slotting additional fleet armor with +turn on em in that. then specializing pilot and getting some serious maneuvering out of it.
Aventine, cuz hell yeah 5 partgens and 4 partgen - boosting tac consoles (won't tell you which tho, top secret has hehe)

I upgraded most of my fleet ships as i got upgrade tokens and so far the 2 stand outs for me were my fleet galaxy dread and my Charal. My Gal X can weather anything and my Charal has been melting mobs down. So I would personally upgrade the Charal
To be honest anything that can be T5-U is worth it if you can't afford or want a T6 the console slot and the stats you get from the ship tier lvls are worth it. I have a T5-U Kazon Heavy Raider and to quite well against enemies with it.
Elemental Evil is the best module ever it fixed all the bugs!
The only t5-u ship I have upgraded is my fleet avenger, it's pretty beastly with full mastery plus the eclipse's trait. I have the steamrunner and fleet excel...but I just don't know about them. With full mastery and the eclipse's trait my, chel grett and hirogen hunter just simply wipe the map clear quickly and efficiently.
The eclipse is a pretty good boat too, I just enjoy those other three much more. The eclipse model is just to large IMHO, it is not comfortable to fly for me.

I honestly just upgraded ships that I love using. If you're not overly attached to any of your ships the only one really worth upgrading is probably the scimitar since it's still the biggest dps monster on the block.
Personally, I updated my Excelsior on my fed, my D'Deridex on my Reman, and my B'rel on my kdf.
