Comedic/Interesting easter eggs, what have you found in STO?

ironmakoironmako Member Posts: 770 Arc User
With all of the threads with people pushing on the negative aspects, I though I would inject a little light-hearted fun into the forum.

I have heard that there are interesting hidden parts to the game, or "easter eggs", but instead of being intentional, most are oversights by the devs, and it would be great to see what you have all found.

We have already seen the sign calling for the need for rocket boots at earth's space dock (as an intentional easter egg), but what about the Kobali's immunity to the subspace party amplifier? They are the only species I have seen which do not shake it when the amplifier is activated.

I decided to take this to the Defera invasion Zone to try an amplifier on those infamous party animals - The Borg.

There are plenty of Borg drones who are just standing about so I launched an amplifier, and yup, they do indeed bust out the moves! Give it a try yourself! :D

Have you used an amplifier in an amusing spot - not the usual sanbox locations - maybe you've gotten the Sand Scorpions on Nimbus III to twerk, or have you found any other easter eggs?

The entire episode "Gasko Blues" can be considered an homage to The Empire Strikes Back.
When the Guy with the Geordi Visor was named Tobol - LOBOT backwards, Lobot being Lando's personal assistant. who had a "visor" opposite the way a trek visor would be worn - back of the head, I started looking for more fun easter eggs in that mission.

    There are a few.

It is not an egg, but the cut scene in 'all that gliters' where the Doctor and Nelex are talking. My BOFFs and me are in the back ground. I laughed with the one where my science officer was lounging on the crates. it was just as I pictured the her to act.

You can be sure I will make him try! ;)

I'm also thinking of the final confrontation with Hakeev, he stays preety stationary as well, so If I can get close enough to him, I bet I can make him strut his funky stuff as well!

THis reminds me of when you have the shuttlecraft mission, where you go into the wormhole to deal with that ferengi. There is the cutscene where Eraun gives you the choice to kill her. In the background, there is a Jem'Hadar sprinting across the bridge behind Eraun for no reason!

I noticed this too, but I thought it was only because my Ferasan's height is set to maximum. Tuvok had a finger in an eye, and thumb in my mouth.

I re-played "Night of the Comet" with a fleetmate this weekend and ended up with a spare Nerve Tonic in my inventory. Couldnt sell it or discard it.

So I drank it after the mission......and my female sci captain began doing a very sexy dance !

So I went back into the mission, got another and promptly beamed out. I'm saving it for a special occassion. LOL

    REALLY?????

Ok, ok, Someone needs to do this so it can be filmed.

I'm wondering if DURING the mission, you can drink it yourself to see this happen, though hopefully the barman will make another for you.

You can, and you do. No need to beam out now though, as you can get a 2nd one from the barman before the end of the mission I remember reading in some recent patch notes. ;)

Not only this, he uses the full speed running animation for it, so he's going in slow motion. Honestly, it's funny, but replaying that just shows how far this game has come. Even the stuff from Legacy of Romulus is looking a little dated compared to the FEs that came out since.

As a shout-out to STIII, the Excelsior's transwarp will sometimes fail when you attempt to use it, making a clunking, sputtering sound like it did in the movie. I've never heard of any other ship's transwarp failing like that in this game.

You can actually buy four 'tonics' from the Bartender in 'Night of the Comet' after you take care of Cassidy. They are four different food items.

There are a couple of Deferi on the ship in 'Cold Comfort' that break out into a sprint at various times.
