Maybe I wasn't clear the last 10 times I said it. I don't dislike Hobos because they kill me. I dislike Hobos because they're pricks.
There were no Hobos in Kerrat today, and I had an excellent PVP session. Why? No abuse, no harassment, no unpleasantness, and no neo-TRIBBLE telling me to die in a concentration camp. Stop trying to deflect and pretend that the Hobos are hated due to their skill - they're hated because they're jerks.
edit: But heck, if you don't believe me, I'd be glad to send you some of the stuff they PM me. I'd post it here, but I'd get banned.
im gonna report you, there no TRIBBLE in my fleet thoose acusation beggin to make me think you want attention
You started playing after season 7? because you sure sound like it.
When i was playing Kerrat it was full of both klings and feds, but just a few feds were there or could PvP.
Also FVK queue was full and waiting time was like a minute.
Only after LoR FVK was completely empty and I didn't even bother going in Kerrat anymore.
And no, i was never camping FED spawn, actually, it was quite the opposite.
It was so fun to read chat and seeing klingons fistbump eachother after 4 BoPs and few Felkhri drainers/virals kill a t4 cruiser that is probably AFK doing dilithium daily.
So yes, since you did find personal offense in my comment, I know exactly where did you PvP.
In Kerrat. You calling fed side "feddies" is also a dead giveaway what have you been doing in there anyway.
no, i was here well before s7 lol
FvK queues havent popped in 'like a minute' since feddies cried for their own FvF queues. once you guys had that it was pretty difficult to coax you guys out. sometimes a c&h would pop, but arena? not so much. the matches were pretty predicable too. kdf pub team would own a fed pub team every which way. sometimes a fed premade would come in and would obviously give us a caning. the conclusion of that is pretty obvious.
spawn camping has always been the fed specialty. full stop.
and of course i call you a feddie. thats what you are, after all. and while i used to pub arena and c&h as often as i could, fed reluctance to participate did mean i took a casual approach and ran kerrat, usually unteamed, typically being spawn camped 8:1 while farmers raced to reset the zone, and usually mopping up the feddies regardless.
Yeah, well, here's the thing: if you, as a group, relentlessly insult and harass someone, repeatedly instakill them in-game without giving them a chance to retaliate, as well as target them with neo-TRIBBLE hate speech, and make jokes about that someone's ancestors dying in death camps... that someone just might develop a grudge and dislike toward you as a group.
Does this surprise you on some level? Is my reaction unnatural somehow?
the irony hey
this is exactly what i was talking about. all the 8:1 spawn camping against the kdf is pretty much what has fuelled the kdf contempt for feddies. you guys were relentless with it, spawn-camping us on every single reset. you guys still try to do it.

No offense, but your claims just look like a crude attempt trying to deflect blame (projecting): An outside 3rd party (IC) is somehow responsible for your fleets actions; who knows, perhaps even latently implying that a highly mixed group of people who all see a similar pattern of anti-social behavior and bad conduct radiating from your fleet... is somehow pointing at the wrong 'culprit'?
Are all these people just making stuff up? Some Hobo members behaviour remind me of this interesting read...
Honestly, I have some difficulties following your train of thought here: you saw an Inner Circle person doing something objectionable (which, given the lack of evidence, I am inclined to doubt), and that somehow makes it OK for Hobos to 'perform' said objectionable behaviour onto the rest of the community, for a prolonged period of time? Are you going before a Judge and say "I may have committed Grand Theft Auto, but I saw someone else steal a car, too! Once!"? Even if true, how is that supposed to help you?
What about all the other types of bad conduct people are commonly reporting about Hobos? Do you intend to deflect every single type and instance of bad conduct as well? Honestly, I am curious.
I've checked the forum, so far I have found no one directly blaming your fleet for the release of Delta Rising.
Look, everybody can have a bad day, nobody is an angel. I may have days where I am feeling grumpy, same could be said about Hannibal or David or everyone else. But there is a difference between 'anecdotal' and constant pathological bad conduct. Even informal groups have the tendency to delevop at least a loose hirarchy. And the conduct of the people occupying the top of a hirarchical pyramid may set the general tone of an entire group. Unfortunetely, the people in charge of Hobos radiate a very toxic anti-social atmosphere onto the whole PvP community, be it Kerrat, OrganizedPvP, and this PvP forum. It's not only outsiders looking from the outside noticing it. You'd be suprised what some Hobo members *really* think about the whole mess.
I don't have a problem with the HOBOs as a fleet, because for the most part they're pretty reasonable people, good pvpers, and have invested in the community to support it.
However there are some among their number who have made it their stated mission to make the game as unfun and unpleasant a place for other players as possible, through the use of consistent verbal harassment, offensive messages that often range into the racist, homophobic, or just plain insulting, and through a PVP style that when coupled with this abuse is aimed at coercing other players to leave the PVP community.
While the community has diminished significantly in the wake of DR, I do not lay that at the feet of the HOBOs, or even these specific individuals. It's primarily Cryptic's fault. That does not, however, excuse this behaviour or mean I condone it- quite the contrary.
With regards to Drkfrontiers' comment, no, I do not believe the goal of PVP should be to coerce your opponents to cease pvping on a permanent basis. By all means bring your best game, play, fight, win- whatever. But don't be butts about it like these guys are. There's no good reason you should ever be trying to deliberately kill off interest in PVP by being a tremendous butt save for your own arrogance and self interest- both of which we can readily do without.
Y'know, as a new PVPer I see a lot of hate against Hobos. What exactly is a Hobo in the context of PVP (honest question, I have no idea)?
House of Beautiful Orions, the main and most successful KDF pvp fleet over the past 2 years.
Due to the KDF being smaller most of the KDF pvpers join our fleet and since KDF are the "bad guys" we are seen as the "bad guy" fleet. Feds do everything and more that KDF pvpers and our fleet specifically is bashed for, but since they are spread out among many fleets and we are just one KDF fleet we get all the attention.

I'm not deflecting anything. I'm saying none of us are saints, IC included.
Are all these people just making stuff up? Some Hobo members behaviour remind me of this interesting read...
Doubt they're all making it up, but it's definitely not a one-way street. I went into Kerrat today for the first time in forever and immediately there are Feds talking TRIBBLE to me non-stop without me saying a single word to them. I responded in kind to one of them after killing him multiple times and he just whined and whined and whined and would not stfu, going on about what a big bad meanie I was. Talk about hypocrisy.

Are you going before a Judge and say "I may have committed Grand Theft Auto, but I saw someone else steal a car, too! Once!"? Even if true, how is that supposed to help you?
I'm not saying it makes it ok, but I can't control what everyone does in this world, and after all it's just a game and I'm not going to get all wound up about it. Oh, and lack of evidence...hmm, guess I should fraps everything and audio record ts so when you come asking for evidence I can go rushing to prove something that in the end I care very little about.
What about all the other types of bad conduct people are commonly reporting about Hobos? Do you intend to deflect every single type and instance of bad conduct as well? Honestly, I am curious.
I couldn't care less. Big bad hobos. Such meanies. Cry me a ****ing river. Feds do everything and more that KDF pvpers and our fleet specifically is bashed for, but since they are spread out among many fleets and we are just one KDF fleet we get all the attention.
So you mean to tell me that nearly every pvping KDF player is situated in the hierarchy of a single fleet (meaning under the implicit or explicit control of that social construct) and you want people to not redirect their contempt of certain players to that fleet or the faction they represent, while single Fed players that don't have that strong an affiliation to a well known fleet (you know cause there are hundrets of them) should be okay with being generalized?
Please do some self reflecting on that sentence ...

Meh, I guess if one were to go 2013-2014...it's a sign of my ol' timer's dementia that I keep picturing fleets from 2012 and earlier as if they've been around in the past two years when they've been absent or just had a few random folks appear here and there.

Why don't you read the forums so you know whats going on before throwing out misplaced insults.
I am not saying we are the bad guy, it is what everyone else is saying with the forum war.
I am not saying we should generalize all feds, just stop generalizing all KDF pvpers because they happen to be mostly in the same fleet.
Why don't you read the forums so you know whats going on before throwing out misplaced insults.
Insults? I'm merely taking your written words at face value. You gave a description to a newbie, so who am i to know if you are being honest in your attempt at explaining things? (may it be in a normal or sarcastic fashion)
BTW., i think you mistake reading with writing a lot of /10char posts. You know, i don't have to reply to every piece of TRIBBLE comment i find on here. Your's was really intruiging though. Kinda lacking any kind of introspection. Only seeing things from a fixed perspective.
I am not saying we should generalize all feds, just stop generalizing all KDF pvpers because they happen to be mostly in the same fleet.
See, that sentence doesn't make a whole lot of sense. You can actually llegitimately generalize all KDF players because they are mostly affiliated with one fleet (even so though i hardly doubt that that's actually the case). That makes this fleet responsible for the majority of kdf player conduct. Either you'll accept that your fleet isn't the majority of KDF pvp (who knows if it is) or you accept being generalized and take responsiblity as a fleet. You can't have your cake and eat it after all.

Jacob, James, and John are hanging out. John's a tool. Do you treat Jacob and James as if they were tools just because their names begin with J as well? No, you treat John like a tool...
It's the epitome of dumbassery to stereotype...if somebody is doing something, you call them on it - you don't toss out blanket garbage.
It's tough, I get that - I fight against it every day, seeing some of the completely moronic things that some Feds do not to label all Feds as complete morons. Some of them go to such lengths that it's extremely difficult not to do so, and sometimes I can't always fight my way around the disbelief and slip into that dumbassery myself.
But I try to point out when I'm doing and apologize for doing it...cause it is what it is.
And defending it, like you appear to be doing, is just /facepalmviarectum...
They've got some major week old douchebags that have been sitting in the garbage and forgotten about...but that doesn't mean one goes about slapping that label on all of them much less slapping that label on folks not even related to them outside of having picked the same faction.
Jacob, James, and John are hanging out. John's a tool. Do you treat Jacob and James as if they were tools just because their names begin with J as well? No, you treat John like a tool...
This analogy is inaccurate. If you want to describe Hobos correctly... Jacob, James and John are all complete tools.
HOBO never ruined pvp; Cryptic did with the op cheese Intel abilities that are so broken most casuals don't dare pvp anymore. I was actually just starting to enjoy pvp, fighting against hobos and fighting alongside them in kerrat prior to DR. Yeah, I was that guy in the fleet negh'var that made a bunch of you hobos scratch your heads and say wtf is he flying a fleet neghvar? I also occasionally brought my fleet voquv which is now absolutely worthless after the release of DR. Hobos actually made me want to pvp again because fighting alongside them was so fun.
Right now, I won't be going near pvp until mastery traits are obtainable through grinding in-game and Intel abilities are balanced and made available to older T5U ships through upgrades. We don't want your T6 ships Cryptic; you can keep them.
Word of advice: stop taking hobo trolling so seriously guys...honestly, you sound like masochistic klingons about to engage in some stick beating ritual. Grow up and ignore them.
Jacob, James, and John are hanging out. John's a tool. Do you treat Jacob and James as if they were tools just because their names begin with J as well? No, you treat John like a tool...
Ever heard of the halo effect? It basically works like overshadowing branding. If i can't see or hear J1 and J2 over the idiocy that is J3 and they are being branded by that group affiliation, guess what the reaction will be. I mean, why couldn't J1 and J2 influence J3 in a more positive way? After all, they are a group and therefor share a stronger relation to each other then others outside their group.
Oh and, this isn't meant to legitemise any stereotyping, it's just there to show you how people form their opinion about something.
It's the epitome of dumbassery to stereotype...if somebody is doing something, you call them on it - you don't toss out blanket garbage.
