Ive been complaining about all the bugs in this game for time. There not bugs any more just features.
Craptic dont care about bugs or they would give them selfs more time for testing. All craptic care about is money as long as whales keep paying up they think there doing a good job.
Kinda of funny that now buffed events are called "bugs" needed fixing...exploits=bugs=anything that needs to be nerfed? Failed policy whatever you call it.
And I could be wrong, but I believe Geko is actually a designer, not a programmer, so he definitely only has time to check whether the math works out. He may later need a programmer to implement the changes, but that may not be were most of the time is spend.
I'd like to point out the same thing I did about their "Data pulls", data never lies, but If you write a bad query you'll get bad data and it's really, really easy to write bad SQL queries. The data is telling you what was asked, not what you thought you asked.
In this case (for the ship pet nerfings) the math doesn't lie. {Best Tuvoc voice} However, if the math is connected to a ship pet with a buggy and crippled AI; the pets are not nearly as capable as the math on it's own would seem to indicate. {/Tuvoc Voice} So nerfing them without fixing the AI will have a extremely detrimental effect.
Space the final frontier. These are the voyages of [your name here] on a five year mission to gain one level after the delta rising xp nerf.
I love how they have now moved onto nerf batting carrier pets rather than looking back at fixing issues that would quite possibly net them profits. The fact that they continue to ignore the glaring problems in this game demonstrates to us they are not concerned with improving our game-play but only finding ways to monetize it. This will have the reverse affect for me and I'm sure many other players. If they were concerned more with the environment, as they should be, it would make us more apt to spend money. The video below explains perfectly what is happening in game and is exactly how I feel about the current situation:
Yeah, and as I was just mentioning in another thread, perhaps if more video-capable players could actually catch bugs and bad game behavior on camera and show that stuff to the devs, it might make it easier for them to analyze the errors as well as serving to demonstrate what the gameplay impact really is for a normal player.

The bug at 3:30 (assignment/R&D completion delay of 5 sec) was probably coded for that "feature" of no more server lag in doff assignments and to fix frozen R&D assignments. Horrible, horrible "fix" in general, but I don't think they have any idea of how to go back to stuff completing instantly. Part of it was them having to have the doff assignment and R&D system all working with the same code, and the R&D code not being done too well.
LOL the "fix" that didn't actually fix anything, but got left in anyway.
For me the biggest bug is that the game crashes on Macs after playing for between 3 - 6 minutes. This makes the game completely unplayable.
I'm not expecting anything from Cryptic, after all, I've not seen anything regarding any upcoming fixes for the issue. Instead they seem to be happy letting us know how they're going to nerf carrier pets.
Oh, the money I was going to spend on the DR pack, I spent on preordering Elite: Dangerous. That game looks soooo much better than STO and from all reports it plays exceptionally well. Looks like I may have a new game to spend on.
The fact that you're trying to use a Mac for anything other than emails and AutoCAD (isn't that the other thing Macs are good for) should have me ridiculing you and that other guy that tries to use a Mac for gaming...but it doesn't...because STO is advertised as working on Mac. Silly as it is, if they say it, it should be possible.

This is a good idea in theory, what imagine would happen is a lot of redundancy in bug/bad game mechanics being recorded. The biggest issue lies in the fact that Cryptic is unwilling to fix these bugs.
We've seen a lot of posts earlier today about changes they plan on making in response to our pleas about broken mechanics but I question the sincerity of this response. Actions speak louder than words.

Most of the Bugs you looked over in the vid are pains but the number 1 bug is surely the ques. I used to run all Elite STF's and when I would go to que up their would be like 70 people in them now I am far and removed from running Elite any thing. But that's ok because no one runs them. No one runs any thing but Mirror in my fleet because nothing is worth doing. Spending I don't know how long shooting at 1 target that I can barely dint while their are 8 other targets that hit like a Mac truck running over a twinky at 80mph. Not to mention when I respon none of my skills are in the right place and I go to click on something and its not their.... We all know what happens when you don't get that skill out in time... respon to another messed up tray where everything is in a different place again, So who knows. But hey nother great Vid man good work.
I have to admit that is my feeling on that "bug." For me the new system was a huge relief compared to the extreme problems I was having before that point.
BUT...everything else on this video is IMO absolutely dead on accurate.
Cryptic needs to address all of this and quit merging instead of doubling down on a failed monetization strategy and stripping away what little we have left.
Cryptic, read this accounting/business lesson FAST. We are entering the product death spiral and the only way to stop it is to stop the removals and FIX things, not continue to try to cut things and milk the hell out of what's left. If you continue on this course you will kill the game.
I think they're really somehow of the opinion that scarcity drives demand. Fact is, the world is full of scarce things. Scarcity can intensify demand UP TO A POINT but it isn't what creates demand.
You know what creates demand? Emotional needs. Arguably physical needs too although those go unrecognized until they become emotional needs.
Player A has an emotional need. If Product B pitches that their product meets the need of Player A, then Product B can make a sale. If Product B is scarce, it can charge higher amounts but only as far as the elasticity of demand for the players will take that amount and that number will only climb so high with substitutes, even imperfect ones in the world.
People don't actually buy nails. They want something like love or nostalgia or security. They get that feeling through looking at a picture on their wall. Nails are one way to get that picture on the wall. But screws will do the job too and so will double sided tape so making nails scarce really doesn't necessarily have to drive up the price of nails at all. Making nails too scarce may drive up the price of chocolate because these people will leave that old picture in storage and go straight for that feeling of love, nostalgia, or security from eating chocolate if you make hanging that picture on the wall too inconvenient.
I think Cryptic is operating heavily under the misguided notion that they can create demand by making things harder to get. They can, at best, increase the price of something and frustrate a subset of people into paying a higher price.

Methinks you should be directing your commentary to PWE, not Cryptic.
I don't think the distinction is really that great. Now if STO goes a significantly different direction again from some of the other PWE titles, that would be a different matter.

This video goes over some of the most blatantly obvious bugs in the game that need fixing. These were some of the most requested fixes by the player. My hope in creating this video is to inspire a change for good in this game. The acceptable level for bugs and broken mechanics in this game has reached a level that is mind-boggling to me. I hope that the rest of STO community joins me and asking for this to change.
I don't want to offend anyone, I just want to inspire a positive change for this game. I love Star Trek but I can't let my love of Star Trek blind me to the mistakes that have been made. Let's fix these bugs and enjoy the game we all love, rather than be frustrated because we can't beam out of Star Fleet Academy grounds or upgrade an item and have it lose a major ability. Help us fix the game.

Bug 5, 4, and 3 aren't even bugs in my book.
The broken loadout system is, of course, Nr. 1, by far.
STOleviathan, to your point about artificial scarcity, I would also point out that the massive upsurge in goldspammers across the game lately should not be regarded as coincidental but as a sign of the market balance being completely off. Even IRL when extreme regulation goes into effect and artificial rarity is induced, the result is an explosion of the black market and all of the detestable, illegal TRIBBLE that goes along with it. (Which is why I will never support a goldspammer but I will point them out as a barometer of economic health or sickness.)

Unless you have an issue with the exact meaning of 5,4, and 3 being classified as bugs. I.E. they don't fit the classification of a bug. These are bugs in their simplest classifications. How is not being able to leave a location, "the hotel California effect," in game not a bug?

This is TOO logical for Cryptic...I think there is a bonus for any Dev's idea that will make players' grind even more till they bleed from their eyes.
So it looks as if there were three of the bugs I talked about in my video that are being fixed in the upcoming patch. Another of which is under the "known issues"
The three being addressed today is:
"Resolved an issue which was blocking Federation Aligned Romulans from leaving Starfleet Academy."
"Increased Dilithium rewards for all PvE queues.
-Normal queues will reward 360 Dilithium upon successful completion.
-Advanced queues reward 720 Dilithium upon successful completion.
-Elite queues reward 1440 Dilithium upon successful completion.
Updated the reward rates of R&D Materials in the Advance version of queues to guarantee that one Very Rare R&D Material is received inside each pack."
"Loadouts:
-Resolved an issue where shuttle loadouts would not automatically apply when entering a queue that automatically switches the players ship to a shuttle.
-Resolved an issue where items saved to a loadout would occasionally remove itself from its slot when transferring to another map.
-Resolved an issue where items shared between the active ship and current shuttle do not move when swapping between them."
The one acknowledged is:
"The Bio-Neural Gel Pack in the Delta Alliance Reputation system does not apply the correct amount of Subsystem Power Boost."
This is a pretty good start all things considered. Is the change to the rewards exactly what we want? Of course we all want more, but I'm sure their numbers say this is an appropriate increase. I still think it may be awhile before the queues start filling up again. After the Mirror event is over and people have upgraded more of their systems we may see an uptick here. The R&D weekend added may also help and I think they realize that.
No surprise the "Hotel California" is being fixed with the upcoming Jr officer weekend, can you imagine the rage otherwise?
We will see what comes of the loadouts issue. I have hard time believing this one will have been fixed over night as this has been a plague on this game for years.
Good to see the Gel Pack console is being looked at for the future. I hope they don't forget about that science console in the video though.
I also don't foresee a fix to R&D/Doff mission delays but that one is annoying more than anything else.
Hope to see more of the same in the future from this game, QC your work guys. I have to do it at my job, so should you.

Admittedly I worry about the DOFF interface being toyed with again, because it was NOT working for me in any way, shape, or form before they went to the new slow system, and while it's slower, the new system is actually *reliable* and does not cause me disconnects from the server.
But perhaps the no-spawns in the Borg Red Alert and the Orb attackers in Undine Infiltration Advanced could be tackled next?

Myself and many others in some of the chat channels I frequent in game see the "pet bug" fix as not really a nerf or bug fix, but yet another monetizing scheme. 3 weeks is plenty of time for most Carrier players to get to a level where they actually notice their pets having those delta rising NPC-esque HP amounts and actually being able to survive things like TBR or the grossly overinflated damage output of the "PD console" power the mirror universe escort NPCs have.
Then the 3 week date hits and the "pet bug" is "fixed", then epic pet upgrades are released in the lobi or cstore with the level 60 stats that pets currently have.
