How about you get on some of this:

http://youtu.be/0CnIXVNezyA

This video goes over some of the most blatantly obvious bugs in the game that need fixing. These were some of the most requested fixes by the player. My hope in creating this video is to inspire a change for good in this game. The acceptable level for bugs and broken mechanics in this game has reached a level that is mind-boggling to me. I hope that the rest of STO community joins me and asking for this to change.

I don't want to offend anyone, I just want to inspire a positive change for this game. I love Star Trek but I can't let my love of Star Trek blind me to the mistakes that have been made. Let's fix these bugs and enjoy the game we all love, rather than be frustrated because we can't beam out of Star Fleet Academy grounds or upgrade an item and have it lose a major ability. Help us fix the game.

For me the biggest bug is that the game crashes on Macs after playing for between 3 - 6 minutes. This makes the game completely unplayable.

I'm not expecting anything from Cryptic, after all, I've not seen anything regarding any upcoming fixes for the issue. Instead they seem to be happy letting us know how they're going to nerf carrier pets.

Oh, the money I was going to spend on the DR pack, I spent on preordering Elite: Dangerous. That game looks soooo much better than STO and from all reports it plays exceptionally well. Looks like I may have a new game to spend on.

    +1

Cryptic needs to fix things if they want to succeed. If STO fails, I guarantee that Cryptic as a development team/company will die with it. I'm certain that they can't sustain themselves with just their other games.

Yeah, if this game tanks I might check out FireFly online. I hope they get their act together though but that might be wishful thinking at this point.

yes, the bugs are game-breaking... the folks who start and beam down to Earth are stuck there.

    no fix for that?

There are so many bugs, just fix them please... it'd reduce the nerdrage.

I am with OP on this one. I am not going to spend anymore money in this game until criptic/pwe gets their heads out of their butts. You guys have been ignoring the players since close beta.

The bug at 3:30 (assignment/R&D completion delay of 5 sec) was probably coded for that "feature" of no more server lag in doff assignments and to fix frozen R&D assignments. Horrible, horrible "fix" in general, but I don't think they have any idea of how to go back to stuff completing instantly. Part of it was them having to have the doff assignment and R&D system all working with the same code, and the R&D code not being done too well.

Ive been complaining about all the bugs in this game for time. There not bugs any more just features.

Craptic dont care about bugs or they would give them selfs more time for testing. All craptic care about is money as long as whales keep paying up they think there doing a good job.

I have to admit that is my feeling on that "bug." For me the new system was a huge relief compared to the extreme problems I was having before that point.

BUT...everything else on this video is IMO absolutely dead on accurate.

Cryptic needs to address all of this and quit merging instead of doubling down on a failed monetization strategy and stripping away what little we have left.

Cryptic, read this accounting/business lesson FAST. We are entering the product death spiral and the only way to stop it is to stop the removals and FIX things, not continue to try to cut things and milk the hell out of what's left. If you continue on this course you will kill the game.

Triage is something that is done in software development, too.

Yes, that means a software like an MMO is basically like a big disaster area with many wounded, and you try to treat the patient in the most efficient manner, and sometimes accepting that you can't do something due to the circumstances and all the other people that need care.

But the up side is - in MMOs at least, no one is going to die from lack of treatment,.

And I could be wrong, but I believe Geko is actually a designer, not a programmer, so he definitely only has time to check whether the math works out. He may later need a programmer to implement the changes, but that may not be were most of the time is spend.

True, however my spending patterns for this game are in a coma and my interest has been on life support ever since the Mac version of the game crashes avery few minutes or so.

OP very interesting video you had taken the time to put together. Along with this from YTV https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tj8p9DofvZA really makes your video stands out. But in all I was listening too that prior to watching your go over to the technical problems in this work-in-progress online game.

Got to save your ship trays and create names for those ship layout/trays. Use what you need though. There is a 99% chance the tray will stick. 1% it won't. It's gamble either way.

Thanks for letting me know about STA Earth Bound stuck. I won't be beaming down there ever again until they take care of the technical problem.

The queues are only good for:

    Borg Disconnect
    Bug Hunt
    Mirror U-Event

All of these on normal. I did see Level 60 list where everything is Zero.

Bug Hunt can be done on Elite but you need to have enough toxic resist, minimum of 40%. You can even PUG it too.

It would seem Cryptic plans to make all their profit from the people who have endless amounts of cash to throw at the game and those that are entirely dedicated, no matter what. The reality is that much of the player base is fed up and will slowly begin to leave the game. When enough of this exodus occurs, some whales will begin to leave as well, why? Well, because the player base is content too and if Cryptic continues to ignore the vast majority of us and continue to focus on how to suck money from whales this game will die. But maybe cryptic already sees the writing on the wall and it is already on it's way out.

Question, isn't this lifetime sale a bit early? I remember someone saying it happens closer to Christmas, is this true? If so is this their last cash grab before they turn off the STO servers?

I might be blowing things way out of proportion here but my trust level of this company and it's developers is in the basement right now. I imagine the approval rating by the community of this game is lower than that of Obama!

Hard to say. The stores around me had their Christmas products up for sale weeks ago. Soon enough the Christmas sales will start in March!

    #5 Completion delay
This bug is extremely annoying, introduced when they tried a few times to fix previously gummed up projects that would not complete, that bug is still around by the way but it does fix itself sometimes thanks to this new 'feature'.

While this bug is my personal most hated I would speculate the work required to fix it, nearly rewriting all the code for how doff/rnd completes, makes it one unlikely to ever be properly fixed. Especially considering it is doubtful the original creators of the doff code are still employed with Cryptic, I know the original designer is not.

Still it would be a massive QoL improvement to the game and should be done before any new systems are introduced to the game.

    #5 SFA Transporter Bug
I get this one all the time and not just at SFA but also DS9 and other places. Usually when I change characters from one in space to one on the station quickly and I'm guessing it has to do with latency/timing where the game doesn't realize I'm not in space when the map loads with the UI or somesuch. I should check to see if attributes reflect that hypothesis next time it happens.

To fix it just switch characters and log that character right back in. That usually fixes it. I guess they could add an extra 'verification' step to the character loading screen to prevent it from ever happening again but yeah.

    #4 Power Levels
This is because of how the 'efficient' attribute works related to gear, skills, and boff traits. It adds power based on the current power level. When you increase your power level via items that in turn decreases the amount granted by any 'efficient' modifiers you may have.

The best way to fix that, and it should be fixed as it is an overly complex and unintuitive mechanic that does not enhance the game enough to justify it's current existance, would be to revamp all efficient things to be based on the set base power levels selected instead of the final values.

    #3 Upgrade problem
Yup, just shows yet another QA fail. This has been an ongoing systemic problem that requires a revamp of the entire QA process. I have no idea if they are incompetent, lack required resources (time/employees), or what but it should have been fixed years ago.

#2 Power Trays & empty Boff Seats
No clue why it happens but it is extremely annoying. I don't even use loadouts or swap ships and I still log in and randomly have my boffs no longer in their seats and/or empty power trays. One character has a single boff ability that drops off the bar everytime I log him in and I've tried several things to fix it with no luck.

    #1 Empty Queues
I could write a novel about this subject. Their are too many, the balance of rewards/difficulty are in a terrible state, and failing is not considered to be fun by many. Actually I should say frustrating is not considered fun.

Otherwise everquest would have been as successful as WoW which would have been a colossal failure.
