I see there was, and there is, outcry about the new tier of starships. I've been asking around, and I got a positive feedback about something like this.
I wanted to create a place where you can PvP using the meta we had until the last season. That's it, everything is allowed, and I mean everything, except T6 ships and the associated powers.
Starship Traits are allowed, but NO Viral Torpedo.
No auxToSif Doff from the Delta Pack
No Crystalline AP torpedo.
All you're going to need is a T5 or T5U ship. I decided to include upgraded ones as well as lockbox and lobi ships, once upgraded, cannot roll back to their previous state. Considering the current status of C-Store faction starships availability, for example character-bound Fleet ships and the sheer lack of science vessels for KDF and Romulans, it would be unfair.
Gear has no MK limit as well; many have upgraded their stuff already, I can't ask to re-purchase everything.
Same goes for specializations, you can't deactivate what you've unlocked already, so they're remaining. You're free to use what you have unlocked.
don't ask for "Dauntless/Scryer/Eclipse without intel", they're not getting through.
About Delta reputation... it seems fine as well to me. After all, it's just another reputation.
Of course if you want to debate something, feel free to do so.
Rules end up here, I'd rather give white paper on everything else to those who'd like to join, and let them do things as they want.

This isnt a bad idea at all.
Cryptic has given us these new intel ships with their intel powers and has given anyone in a t5u ship pretty much no way to counter them apart from buying an intel ship. This isnt bad in and of itself, but it is removing the variety that a lot of people enjoy in the game, and relegating competitive pvp to about 12 differnt ships.
Whoever has the most intel wins. This is BS.

Btw, just a little personal thought ric, we can't ignore the t6 ships and their associated abilities... i like the idea to play the way you want and with rules you want (i'm a vpvp supporter), but these new ships are out there and yes or no we have to deal with them somehow. Don't get me wrong, i got the concept behind your channel and i agree, but as a complete player, don't ignore a new entire aspect of sto like t6 ships and intel stuff
So basically, no T6 ships and no T5 Starship Mastery powers gained from flying T6 ships.
Which basically means no Intel abilities and no OP mastery powers.
I like this idea. While I personally won't have the time to participate, I will suggest it to the rest of my fleet.

I know Nando, don't worry. I have an Intel ship myself I use regularly. However, I thought it would be a nice idea to recreate the ambient we had until a few days ago.

Good idea, waaaay better then VPvP or similar.
It will last until majority switches to t6, atleast there i won't need to retire my dyson, aquarius, ar'kif and crazy setups scimis.

Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't there still tons of QQ about the state of space pvp just last season? Seems to me things were at least half as screwed up as they are now. But hey good luck to you guys if yo can get it going. Still a heavy grind though just not nearly as much as now for newbies.
I already had 2 toons which were outdated since LoR which which I can use for VPvP. Now another 2 toons which won't be going into T6 stuff will be great for T5 pvp. Its nice to be able to play different gamestyle's these ways. Please add me @rudiefix

Yes, but, like VPvP, it gives people a place to PvP with alts or mains who otherwise would never be able to PvP due to its sheer cost now. (let alone T6 wiping the floor with T5s meaning you just cannot bring a T5 which has an equivalent T6 option anymore.)
Between Normal PvP, T5-U PvP and VPvP, we now have a level of PvP for every player and every alt or main they have, should they wish to do PvP. I need to edit my sig now.
ETA - of course like VPvP Ker'rat and Cap'n'splode being unavailable is an annoyance.

Mastery unlocks are allowed, as I'm allowing lockbox/lobi T5U ships as well due to their "uniqueness". Once upgraded, they can't go back to T5. After all, it's not too much of an effort to level masteries up, unless you're a healboat...
I still have nightmares about levelling my Science Odyssey, lol.
Be careful though, Starship traits unlocked through T6 mastery are not allowed.

This applies for the VPvP folks as well, but one thing I've noticed is that when I unslot the only T6 Mastery Trait I've been bothered to unlock so far (Battle Ready) it auto slots itself right back every time I transition from any map to any map.
Worth doing a visual confirmation that it's not there before fighting - and some accused of cheating might not intentionally be doing so.
As to what you're doing: Kudos! I'm a big fan of my Eclipse but hate the way most (but not all) of my T5 ships have been so thoroughly chucked under the bus by DR. It's great that there's somewhere where they can still shine, as they used to.:)
Mind you, T5U aren't all to be trashed or put in the blender. I brought my Science Odyssey in PvP. (kinda a rock solid ship, 20k ET3 during battle). I ended up in a T6 vs T6 match, I was the exception, while the other team had an engi Scimitar.
Can say that the opposing team lost because of my presence. They tried in every way they could to break through shields with all the possible Intel powers abuse. Still nothing
At first we were losing, with my team breaking away from 10km range. When they finally got it that they should remain near my ship, we turned the tides.
Don't completely disregard T5U. Some of them can still rule the ground.
This is good to hear, my sci and eng will be over-joyed!

Because they can still use the gather intel innate ability. Stats wise for example, the Faeht nullifies the T'varo, a Matha nullifies every possible escort-like ship for KDF. They're still T6, and even if there are still ships that can outperform them, a quite big slice like your Galaxy X would become useless. Not to mention that their consoles are ridiculously powerful.
After all, the goal of the channel is to play with the meta T5, now T5U, offered. This automatically eliminates DR ships.
