the notion that gaming forums speak for the whole player base has been disproved on numerous gaming sites over the years. in fact it's the fringe players who spend most of their time on forums, not the majority.

And what you write is, itself, untrue.

Naturally, only a very small percentage of the gaming community is also active on the forums. Yet those 'few' people are the ones that care the most (or they wouldn't be here to complain, etc). And they're usually the ones that pay the devs' bills.

The term I'd use for that when it happens is "stalker". In my opinion using the terrorist label, and you are free to disagree, is taking it to the extreme like that guy that claimed being subjected to party amps was as traumatic as a woman being drug into an alley and sexually assaulted.
a terrorist is someone with an agenda to cause discord through anger, fear, and terror. the term fits, as these people are going through the forum attempting to use those tactics against the game any everyone who disagrees with them.

Or.... angry customers are people who are upset over the way the company treated them! *mind blown!*

    Exactly this.

Quite frankly, if your position is anyone voicing a valid negative opinion is they are a terrorist you aren't worth the time of debating with.

I've yet to be a member of a game forum where rules stayed the same and were enforced the same way.

I have never been a member of a forum where the Mods say X is forbidden (let's say DOOOMMM) , yet it's perfectly ok in one thread .
In most sane places , 'no' actually means 'no' .
I recall in CoH at one point it was against the rules to even mention the names of other games, and another time when you couldn't say the word "No.".

    Errr ... can they say " Ni " ? :)
Thanks for mentioning that tho , I found it quite amusing ... !

... kudos to this thread tho ... , it has 'I quit' , accusations of terrorism and discussion of moderation ...

    ^^^ PURE WIN !!! :D

    Pure win in my opinion.

Your last 5 words say it all.

A player never truly quits unless they delete all their characters. Most I Quit threads are I am taking a break from the game and I might be back. There has to be some symbolic gesture made to show that they are quitting and never coming back. Creating I Quit threads doesn't do that.

    I deleted all my characters.
Also discarded all my fancy stuff just for the lulz, on a lifetime no less.
Still will visit the forums though, to see if Cryptic can learn from all this.

why is it when people know they shouldnt create "i quit" threads, they do it anyways?

if your gonna quit then quit and none of us need to know the reason why. one day when you feel like it, return to the game at some other point when your upto it.

in any event its getting reported.

why you have the urge to anwser to every "i quit" topic.

Given the OP's avatar and sig, this was destined to be an unseen success. :D

Funny thing is, my not playing has nothing to do with the spec loss.
My character was still at 50. Too busy grinding up for gear to attempt DR. That got dreadfully dull real quick. Then reading how even grindier DR makes things...

While people are bashing him/her for making this thread, the reality is that everyone's followup reply does not matter. ...and, that is the point.

On the flip side of the coin, Cryptic will most likely close the thread.

    Its okay to think differently.

Its okay for the OP to speak his/her mind.

    Apparently it's not.
