Pre DR sure - i was looking forward to the new content. I even bought the Operations Pack and dropped $100 on dil for upgrades.

Post DR - no. Massive buyers remorse.

My friends are leaving. The queues are empty. They (Cryptic) actually had to do a special event DURING the launch to keep people interested, and even those queues are practically empty.

Queues being empty for KDF player like me that is business as usual lol seeing all the zeroes. I do agree though has to be so horrible for one of these once or twice a year special events to come out just a few weeks after a major content update/season.

The real ball buster though is if this took time up for 1 quarter of the year they could possibly come back from such a failure but they took around 11-12 months to build this. So the predictions are going to be concise on what is to come. Most likely they are going to bull rush some other kind of grind that will release probably in february or march and then once in may which both will most likely fail horribly and it will be federation only content. So once the summer roles around they might release the summer event at the end of it announce the closing of STO.

Actually they rank #2 in that category the worst Trek game ever made though was that one with shatner voice overs that walmart after 12 hours of it being on the shelves many years ago they reduced the price from 50 to 5 dollars lol. I think it was called Star Trek Legacy.

I don't get it. Why does everybody hate Legacy so much? Sure, it's not half as good as the engine would allow, but...

    No.

    1) They need real customer service.
    2) They need real customer support.
    3) They need to get our game back.

[Sarcasm]As of today I have decided that "YES" I will recommend this game to all my friends! Just like Cryptic no longer wants people to play this game. I no longer want any friends, not even the ones I grew up with, TRIBBLE my daughter's God Parents![/Sarcasm]

Still no. NOT unless they are a diehard ST fan...

Sorry, the game is just not good enough to recommend to anyone. Even worse now that it is perpetually broken.

You get what you pay for. That includes, especially, F2P games.

Drop the F2P, bring back the sub, fix the game then maybe.

Not a chance, the c-store is overpriced, the XP nerf is stupid, the adv/ellite queues are broken and never used, half the elite players I knew are leaving/left.

Unless Cryptic does more then TRIBBLE about with club graphics, and make new items for their stupid ****ing c-store, not a chance.

    No way.

    - Too much bugs
    - Too much grind
    - Nothing new in DR expansion (copy & paste missions)
    - Not all stf's have elite difficulty
    - Old engine
    - Slow UI

Same here, I liked that game too.

But on topic, I've been trying to get my brother to come back from Swtor, after he left STO a year and a half ago, but now... not anymore. I've told him not to bother, since even I dont have fun anymore either, even if I still like some aspects of the game. But as awhole, STO is not fun anymore and now with the latest nerfs, its starts to be a game worth leaving...

At this point...no. I cannot recommend it anymore, not without serious fixes that actually listen to and incorporate customer feedback.

I also cannot recommend that current players contribute in any way to the Zen OR Dilithium markets.

QUALITY IS CUSTOMER-DEFINED. The producer of goods does NOT get a say in what quality actually is. The "any color you like as long as it's black" approach is DEAD and those who try to stick with it anyway will pay financially in the end.

    LOL, no.
i have played since beta, die hard fan, when everyone else in my fleet was bailing, and laughing about this game being a money pit, i stayed. now after waiting years, and i mean years for the intrepid bridges, and having bought all the previous voyager stuff, only to find out they found a way to charge more for stuff that should have been included with the ships i already own, im giving up on this game, that and the all the vet rewards being for sale, why even be a veteran?
thanks but or fleet has shut down, and im not wasting anymore money on this. oh and i doubt anyone will see this post, as the devs say feel free to tell us what you think, unless it is bad or a complaint. lol, ill come back when starbase 24 ground is back. LOL. peace.

I've gotten like 8-10 new people into the game in the past month, shame there's no referral system. They all seem to be enjoying it for now, a few are casual gamers so this game hits the spot perfectly for them, the rest of us are competitive gamers that play in tournaments etc. and we find the casual level of this game to be a breath of fresh air.

Testing out a new signature. Following Delta Rising, unless there are major fixes soon, I will forever remain Proudly F2P. That means no cash to Zen AND it means no dilithium to Zen. Yes, that makes me a true freeloader but at this point I feel I have no other choice but to take what I can to make up as much as I can for what I sank in at better times.

If you put players in an economic pinch, in terms of risk versus rewards, they WILL find ways to rebalance the equation. Which means that I will from now on take without giving and feel good about doing so.

If anyone else likes the Proudly F2P tag and feel that it reflects their philosophy, then I hope they feel free to help themselves to it. :D

Would I recommend STO new a non MMO, non hardcore gaming friend? NO, primarily because I think this game has become very unfriendly to new players. In fact in recent times I have tried to get a couple of RL friends to play and they have mostly played for a week or so and then never returned.
Now would I recommend STO to a hardcore MMO gaming friend? Yes, because they know of grind from other MMO's and may have more patience to work at it.
The one friend I did refer who stayed is in fact a long term hardcore gamer who has played games with me for years, but even he is finding things frustrating and is logging in less and less as time goes on, he started just after LOR.
I cannot detract from how fun the game is once you are established (I am a bit of an STO fanboy), but even I find it difficult to sell it to potential new players as things are.

    Definitely, no.

I told my neighbor friend about STO (a month before DR came out) since he is into Star Trek and we get all giddy when we talk about Star Trek stuff. I came outside a week ago to tell him to forget the game. Ever since the 'successful expansion' everything has flip-flopped from fun to boredom to PO'ed. I told him too that the game player database is on a shrink because of recent 'fixes' and the majority of the community still have their pitchforks in hand since the beginning of the expanse.

Well, I would amend my signature accordingly, but then I'd remember I only infrequently spent money on the game anyway. :o

I would have said yes to story and not pay a dime because there's just no fun or incentive.

After these latest dramas with XP? I won't say no outright...but I'd let them know that the further you get in to the game the more lilkely you'll be forced to grind simply to level up so you can play the next story. With the economy and post DR mechanics now it's going to be such a struggle for new players to get that XP later on and they'll give up way before they spend any money or at the very least be less incentivised to spend money.

    As a player sinceopen beta LTS I look at the pathfinder packs and think;

+ it's a cool looking pack with an amazing interor and nice stats like the trait.

    - It's a sci ship. Out of my 8 active characters 4 are my primary ones and these are all tacticals that typically fly escorts. Of these 4 only 1 is federation so 1 ship for 1 primary charcter. In total I have 3 feds (1 for each profression) but with the way things are I barely have the time or willpower to play effectively on those 2 fed alts. Yes I can use the trait but that's it! 3500 Zen for an interior I'll wow at for a bit then move on and a trait....sorry Cryptic but your own policies are killing what little money I'm prepared to pay you. I bought the Delta pack after weighing it up and felt it was worth it for 8 chracters. Granted It was becoming more a case of 4 primary and 4 where I'll use them for events etc but effectively given up playing fully but still in the long term the pack would be worth spending. I can't say that for the pathfinder as tempting as it is I don't see the point.

Basically Cryptic you're not giving me reasons to pay you. I'm increasingly starting to wonder if I can really keep 4 characters going properly which means probably the kdf and rom toons are going to fall by the wayside. Anything you bring out for the kdf and romulans I won't buy because I've stopped playing them.

***Btw I'm fully aware Cryptic haven't done diddily squat for the kdf and roms or when they do it's trounced by the fed incentives but hypoethically speaking.***

Instead of playing 4 characters for maybe 20hrs I'm being forced towards just playing 1 character for maybe 10hrs lets say I can't give exact maths for this but I'm more likely to play and pay LESS because I can't invest in 4 characters/3 factions anymore.

Taking it one step further why bother buying federation stuff when only 1 character is going to benefit? I might as well stick with what I've got and get what benefits I can in game.

Accolades have become a mess I don't know why you add them nowadays when their broken or inconsistent. They may not be much for some but they were something small but rewarding especially the NWS ones. Pvp to me feels dead for most of the community because even the competent average/good pvper gets trounced by OP/broken/inbalanced gear and mechanics and DR seems to have escalated that to even the elite folks. I used to gear up for pvp but why bother now when I don't do it? Again less resaon to invest.

I really do wonder where Cryptic and STO will be in the coming year(s) because I don't see it getting better and that's another big reason I wonder why I should pay for stuff like the pathfinder pack.

Two months ago, yes. 100% yes if you were a Trek fan. Since the launch of DR, good God no. The game used to be right mix of casual but they've made this game grossly impossible to play casually and downright impossible for newcomers. My friend is getting back into MMO's and wanted to try the game. I've since warned him off.

All my friends who played quit thanks to DR TRIBBLE ups. All of us would casually log in and have fun together. Now none of us log in.

Would I recommend it to someone before? Yes and did. Now? Not a chance in frosty hell.

The answer is still "Hell no".

How would you like if you played a game and you can never catch up to your friends in status no matter what?

How does it feel to know you're 3 years behind me in status? Look at the R&D grind, that takes about 400+ days to get everything to level 15 without dilithium. If you're not already playing STO, Don't play STO... Just my opinion.

    TIME GATE EVERYTHING !!!!
The dress is gold and white. Over 70% people says so. When viewed from a certain screen angle it appears blue and black. The dress displayed on amazon is a blue and black dress, but it's not the same dress in the picture. If you're seeing blue & black you're slightly colored blind. A normal upright screen = white and gold.
