Hmm ... nano-pulse melee weapons, Tholian crystalline swords, Kobali bowcas-- err, split beam rifles. What universe am I in again? :D

Keep it a Split "Beam" please, do not change it to sniper or other type of gun.

Now if you want to ADD a sniper or other gun type go ahead, as a reward choice.

    Edit for clarity

    1. Would like to be able to reclaim
    2. Special icon
    3. Bolt effect instead of split beam (though the split beam is nice)

I agree with this, you can make chose tape of it(like sniper, split bolt or like that)
And every1 that forget, make it Kobali Shield Reclaim too, and Optional idea to make Kobali armor... i realy like on my Boff Kobali Shield and Weapon, but i cant reclaim... and on one char i mastake it with polaron weapon and discarted kobali crossbow...

Couldn't the visual of the beams just be changed to something like the Experimental Proton Weapon array while under the effect of cannon rapid fire?

    Roll a Caitian. :P

Anyways... I can see replacing the "Beam" affects with bolts and doing something similar to what the Dyson Proton Rifle does. Fold up the arms when holstered and fires a "Split beam" set of bolts like how the Dyson gun does a "Wide Beam" scattershot. And maybe change the shots from the default Polaron to something a bit more interesting. Or at the very least not use the default Polaron sound.

I admit the folding features might take a bit of work, but might be doable. Or just do what was done with the Dyson gun and not show the transition between holstered and active.

Based on the feedback we've seen and heard, we are considering updating the crossbow effect. So if you do have an opinion, definitely post it.

Was any of that feedback from chewbacca?

My first impression when I saw it was to wonder what a wookie bowcaster was doing in star trek. But I suppose sto does already have it's jarjar types so why not borrow other stuff.

Making it a split beam didnt make sense to me once I saw the visual looks of the weapon, less use when it's only a twin not the usual triple split.

I dont know if you are still taking suggestions on this weapon

    1) allow us to get multiple copies of the weapon through episode repeats

    2) it currently has no animation for the "rifle butt" ability

    3) raise the proc chance on the heal to 5% =D

    4) sounds effects -- sound effects can go a long way towards distinguishing one weapon from another. Some people will actually base their weapon choice off of sound effects. Normal firing mode shoots twice so make it two bolts that made a deep THUD THUD sound. Secondary firing method shoots shoots 3 bolts at 3 different targets...but maybe make the animation and sound effects staggered just a tiny bit. So that way it looks and sounds like a very rapid THUD-THUD-THUD. But the actual damage would still be done like it normally is being done, all 3 hitting at the same time. Make the animation and sound effects staggered but so fast that you cant really tell that the animation+sound is slightly out of sync with the damage.

EDIT: just noticed that it is possible to get the crossbow through repeats. I just couldnt find where to go for it...for anyone else wondering where it is at: go to the Kobali City and into the building that General Q'Nel is at. Stand right outside the doorway and look straight out, towards the purple leafy bush and the water fountain. Now turn right 90 degrees. You will see a console, probably glowing about 10 feet away. That is where the episode repeat is for a lot of the ground quests on Kobali Prime that arent in the episode list. The one that has the crossbow is in Act 1 "The Son".
