At the time of starting this thread we only have 20hrs until maintenance starts, so 24hrs until Delta Rising should go live. I.. Need.. Information.. Dataz.. Update.. Something!! Is anyone else perplexed by the lack of communication from the team this close to it all happening??
On the launcher I use it states the start of downtime in PDT and also in UTC time. Unfortunately, UTC always has to be in 24 hour format. The UTC time they've quoted (0100Z) is actually in about 8 hours time rather than in 20 hours time (1300Z, which would match the PDT time they gave).
It's no biggy as I'm sure most people have figured it out. But it could lead to a little confusion.
They've gotten bad on the info front since LoR. Back then we already had way, way more info than what we have now. I'm guessing the new lockbox details will be released tomorrow and they'll skip info like the included doffs in the interest of time because they left it for the last possible minute.
Dev blogs are not normaly posted for 2-3 hours.
I do agree that the lack of dev blogs in the past week is a craptic fall.
Im not 100% sure but think branflakes posted dev blogs nearly every day to LOR came out
trendy n smirk combined dont do half as a good job as brandon did by him self.

yeah, we had a crazy amount of info at this point for LoR, i shall reset my countdown, and look forward to the prospect of some good info tomorrow.
I'm sorry but I would have to agree with lucho and wilbor above. By this time with LoR they'd got everyone raring to go. But that being said they've done the live streams which weren't being done with LoR. Just wondering how long it'll be before something crashes tomorrow.

Let's be fair, they don't write the blogs, they just post them. If they get nothing, we get nothing.

Thing is...type the following in a Google search: UTC time
Yeah, the 12hr folks have taken over. Been that way for a wee while...

Sad but true.
Community management has not been up to the mark for quite a while now.
The individuals on point are personable enough, but information flow and actual engagement has been very weak.
I'm actually really shocked how non-existant the blogs have been in this final week. I expected a real tidal wave of them. We still don't know how many story missions we're getting, much more detailed info on Intelligence Officers, no further detail on specialisations/DR rep grind and the T5-U upgrade costs.
All important stuff. But now, we have less than 24 hours to go till launch so I guess we ain't gettin' it.
It's still early in California, blogs and everything don't get posted till around noon there.
(And you can't blame them for the clock mistake, your average American has little concept or use for 24 hour clocks outside the military, which is why we almost always call it Military Time.
Everywhere I look, people are screaming about how bad Cryptic is.
What's my position?
That people should know what they're screaming about!

My guess would be that BranFlakes went out of his way to keep us informed.
(because he was that much of a Star Trek fan)
Smirk and Trendy probably only put out the information they are told to.
Other than the Info-mercials they do, I can't see them putting as much time into keep us informed as Brandon did.
It's just a matter of him having a greater devotion to the game and the fan-base because of his love for All Things Trek.
That's not a dig to Trendy & Smirk, it's just a difference in personality thing.

I think you've properly hit the nail on the head there.. Im pretty confident that BranFlakes made a proper nuisance of himself to make sure we had plenty of information.
Just to clarify, neither myself nor Trendy decide the publication schedule.
In fact, I don't have any control over the content publications as of nearly 3 months ago now.
Trendy is tied to the publication schedule that is decided by the management teammates above her. So please don't take your frustrations out on poor Trendy, she is doing everything she is allowed to do in order to bring these blogs out on time.
After BranFlakes departure, Cryptic/PWE hired a new Product Manager to oversee publication and keep everything on schedule, and bring up to date info the the players.
As you are all aware, this transition has not been the smoothest transition ever (to put it mildly) but we are working very hard to highlight these issues, and the delay with the Xindi LockBox blogs as well as the lack of any major official announcement about S9.5 release dates are great examples for us to show the management that we need to plan better before we head into Season 10.
With the Las Vegas convention fast approaching, my time is being focused on planning the convention and making sure we have things ready to go. But with the launch tomorrow, I will be redoubling my efforts to bring the needed changes to the entire STO publication machine, including the Forums, Facebook and Twitter.
We will have plenty to share with you over the next few months, and we thank you all for your patience over the last several weeks as we built to 9.5, and we thank you in advance for your patience as we work to improve our team engine leading into post launch.
Enjoy Season 9.5 tomorrow everyone, and we will see you in game!
Hell, I'll just quote it...from back with the complaints leading up to S9.5...
So, after reading that...,
In my estimation, the person They hired to do Brandon's job is a "twit" and has no love for Trek except to put money into his bank account.
Lovely..., I guess the 'days of yore' are truly gone.

Thanks Virus, was looking for that post to reference too. I'd have hoped after the Xindi issue their 'management' would have tightened up the processes and information distribution a little better, but heyho, shall just have to wait and see i guess.. like we have much choice lol

Except for T5-U costs and story missions, can you elaborate further on what you are expecting with these blogs you want? I would think we have all the info we need on them.
The real question, is just what exactly do trendy and smirk do.
The job title is 'community manager' but they don't decide what information to release, when to release it or even write most of it.
Judging by the quality of dev posts they also don't edit anything, as they have been full of typos and errors latterly.
They don't seem to manage the forums, we have moderators, askray and bluegeek for that.
When we had branflakes the community was managed. Now we have two people doing the job and its not.
Smirk and Trendy don't even have the excuse that they play the game, judging by their livestreems they have little understanding of game mechanics or assets.
So what exactly dose 'community manager' acualy mean?
If Taco isnt busy trying to fix something or crowbar something extra into the release, i'll eat my hat!! He's the 1 person i don't expect to hear from until we go live lol
I'm hoping the supreme form overlord is hard at work fixing things before tomorrow
Or even better starting plans to overhaul DS9
Yeah, i want him and every other dev high on energy drinks and coffee making sure everthing goes as smooth as possible tomorrow and not posting on the forum right now.
Well I think the only blog topics left are the impending new lockbox ships and the final topic on the Starfleet Intelligence files for the VA access level.

They're probably up to their proverbials in getting everything ready. Maybe expect something tonight.
Cheers!

Ah thanks. I missed that post.
I don't really feel that much has changed since that post was made though. Very unfortunate, IMO.

When you figure in that people were all "Gimme Info on shinies Nao!" early on, it makes sense that we don't really have that much left.

Other than those I don't think we will get a blog and instead just see stuff as they turn up in store.
Still waiting to be able to use forum titles
