The Vaadwaur are attempting to take control of the Korfez system and its resources. Youre team has been assembled to fight the battles that cant be lost. Captain Kim will be coordinating you actions with those of the fleet that will be engaging the rest of the Vaadwaur forces throughout the system!
The hint to really, really play the upgrade tango does not appear often enough in those blogs ! It should also be bold, glow and hit people over the head. We can't have anyone not getting it !
In fairness, they have said that the Elite Queues all warrant the toppest level gear you can get. It's just going to suck if you hop into a Pug with people who weren't paying attention to that and get wiped.
Randomised pool of objectives! Thank you for this , I've been asking for a more dynamic objective for some time now, hopefully it will make it more fun to replay these missions
These are the Voyages on the STO forum, the final frontier. Our continuing mission: to explore Pretentious Posts, to seek out new Overreactions and Misinformation , to boldly experience Cynicism like no man has before.......
My only real issue with this is if the queue is Elite-only, how exactly are the players involved supposed to memorize what the objectives are?
Because that's the REAL strategy behind STFs, memorize what you're supposed to be doing so that you don't insta-fail.
Answer: trial and error, which means repeating the mission over and over without a clue, while other players yell at you for not having said clue.
Notice how they specifically called out captains who park their ships and shoot in the blog? That's going to be interesting. I can already forsee a lot of people crying about it, but I think it's good. ships are supposed to be mobile, not park and shoot turrets.

Ohh dear DHC escort captains are not going to like this, not going to like it at all.

They hope that said yelling will motivate you to upgrade all your gear to epic (best with dilithium and tech accelerators you pay with Zen) and buy the newest T6 ships to compensate for your lack of strategic knowledge.:D

Not to put too fine a point on it, but it's called youtube, or Twitch or whatever is popular at the time, at some point there will probably be a play-through there, just like most every elite/queued event in most every popular game ends up there. just have to keep an eye out.

these spaceships also are suppose to have full 360 degree movement... but for me to go "up" or "down" I need to do some crazy spirals... should maybe fix their engine or use new engine.
shields should also have top and bottom facing.
and they can also stop how beams of directed energy (not to mention snow balls) can make turns as it follows and track a ship (person). when attacks stop auto tracking for 100% hits... maybe folks would fly and avoid shots. right now movement only raises your defense/resist rates.
adding real physics to space battles would be nice.

Elite players are so elite here that they automatically know what to do without even doing the mission
Elite only. Right. Because that makes total sense. Could be fun, probably never going to play it. Oh well, hopefully there will be other queues that I can just run for fun and with a good chance of actually completing it. Shame you guys actually listened to all those 'the game is too easy' whiners and decided the solution was to make pugging practically impossible, but it's too late now.
One of the reasons STF's are currently so easy is they run on rails, no on the spot tactical thinking required , this is stupidly easy to acomplish

Hopefully there'll be missions involving the Vaadwaur. Would be nice to get a dev blog soon with a bit of information on upcoming missions and story content instead pf STFs.

Like the current elite (soon to be advanced) warrants top level gear? The current elite can be done in white Mk X and if a player has semi decent gear (blue/purple Mk XI or XII then i have no doubt the new elite mission will be somewhere in the doable and easy range.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
"The subsequent two phases are chosen from a pool of challenges that will force the Captains s to communicate strategy and tactics quickly and adapt to new situations. "
The Vaadwaur are tough and resilient, but not as annoying as the Voth. On elite, the artillery barrage will deal heavy damage regardless if you are moving or sitting still due to the size of the AoE. If you're standing still you'll probably die. If you're moving, your shield flankings will get nuked. You'll need to pop a speed boost or defensive abilities as soon as you see the artillery targeting markers spam on the screen.

The devs never put mission information in blogs except on occasions to tell us about a featured Episode. They'd rather us experience the missions rather than have it spoiled.

Solo content announced so far:
11 missions on tribble
Normal/advanced content announced so far:
Bug hunt
Borg disconnected
Kobali zone
Oh yay, story content locked behind the "Elite" wall of the upgrade system, which requires using the P2W crafting system, and the P2W upgrade system and the P2W T6 ships or the P2W T5U Upgrades to ships.
Hopefully Cryptic still intends to have some worthwhile story for the rest of us, while the Top 2% of players are enjoying this new content.
I'm fairly certain this strategy has NEVER backfired on any MMOs ever. /endsarcasm

I thought those people weren't Elite enough and so not welcome? If you aren't fawing you're doing it wrong, etc?
No, because this is about what Cryptic wants, and it doesn't want elite A2B FAWspam either. Hell, if they had their way, we'd probably all be flying with upgrades of our ship's standard default weapons.

Here's in idea, make it so at least one chat window with a team setting that works correctly can not be minimized.

Though on the other hand if the mission rewards CC and surgical strikes, then I'll be happily wrong.
