Whilst posting said info might help in some cases, most cases is actually ISP or some issues conntected to it *chough*Cogentco*cough*.
If it is ISP related, it might be an easy fix, but if it's along the route to Cryptic's servers, it will not be easy at all...
Could easily turn into a "no-win scenario" for the player, seen that happen a few times...
Though you can't expect Cryptic/PWE to yell at Cogent to FIX IT!! without providing some details on what and where the problems are. This is why its important to post the 'Trace Route' and 'Path Ping' network diagnostics, so that Cryptic has something to show Cogent Communications...
That is true, but the problems where Cogentco is concerned has been on going for quite some time now, and are still rearing it's ugly head relatively often.
I do hope a solution can be found as the Congentco issue(s) goes, since most times Cogentco seems to be a major bottleneck...
He is right. This is a recurring problem and the last time the lag started at CogentCo and Comcast. There are literally multiple goggle pages on it from WoW, LoL, DoD, etc.
For me, quickly logging out to character switch and logging back in seems to help if I lag in a queued event, if my ping is low in ESD or other zones. Keep netgraph up to check your ping and see if it helps.
Well in my case I can confirm yelling at Cogent is the only thing that will help apart from moving your servers to a decent host.
Tracert didn't go above 110ms US side, stayed between 10-27ms EU side. No problems there.
Nettest gave very good results across the board with almost identical numbers.
Pathping however showed one that stuck out and that was be2432.ccr41.ams03.atlas.cogentco.com [130.117.2.242] which after several tests gave a link packet loss of 91-93%. The other cogent hops after it gave 0-6% loss.
I'm used to getting random disconnects and lag here and there (specific maps mostly), but the last week the game has become impossible to play. On the rare occasion I'll be able to play for an hour or two, but mostly it's disconnects, unable to connect or slide shows.
And please don't ask me to post full details. If the network staff still don't have enough info to go on after so many months of players posting the same problems indicating Cogent issues, they never will...
ps: had to add -w 500 to the pathping command or it wouldn't even do a proper route but gave just one hop with 100% loss.

So did cryptic forget the protection money again?
