Viddians are almost useless in Voyager, same spot as the Kazon. They were only famous to carry the lethal disease and that was the only plot when Voyager found em. Villians?? i cant see how the Viddians are going to be even considered as bad guys. If the kazon are useless as bad guys, the vidiians are even more..
Hardly, in almost every encounter Voyager was at an extreme disadvantage, the Vidians were as bad as the Borg in considering any other race as fair game for spare parts and they had the technology to make themselves a serious threat. Kazon were never more than half baked Klingon wannabe's with really bad hair, they were never made out to be anything more than big dumb bullies. I think the only reason why they didn't develop the Vidian's into anything more was because the whole body snatcher Frankenstein horror angle might have a been little too hard core for prime time TV.

they aren't dumb enough to kill themself by asking for a cup of water. kazon are in their own league of bad. so no viddian are fairly normally anti-villians, kazon are stupid evil to the core.

p.s. if there is a doff assignment were we give kazon replicator can the disaster outcome say the killed themselves by asking for water.

if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

    People.....

Look at that intel section... the kazon are listed at level 1: Knowledge for the janitorial staff...

I am more interested in the last row of intel briefs...

As a general note: The more kazon i get to shoot, the better. Spacehobos without the decency to actually be hobos. They just look and "feel" like Spacehobos.

    Intolerable.

I could see Vidiians, Krenim and Undine on that last tier.

The 101st Hairdresser Regiment can easily tame the Kazon.
Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.

Yes ... take one of the most hated species on Trek and make them a star attraction of X2. Even the producers conceded that the Kazon failed on Voyager. So of course Cryptic makes them a key part!

I guess we should expect that when dev lead thinks sharks with freakin' lasers is a good idea for a Trek MMO!

Personally, I wouldn't worry. This new expansion is going to be a bit of a Voyager celebration by the looks of it, bringing in the vast collection of races the series met over the journey. The Kazon are going to be a part of that but only a part I suspect. So expect about three or four missions which would be a nice little arc but not overkill for admittedly a pretty drab villain.

Its not like the Kazon will be all over the expansion. it just wouldn't work. They are too puny a race to be considered a major threat.

I'm quite glad to see them back. Its another little Trek touchstone after all to the TV series.

Delta Quadrant? villians? i can only see a proper villian in the Krenim, the Borg of course, the Voth, the Undine, and no much more.. maybe the Malon (but they were more neutral than villians), or other species that appeared neutral could be villians now, like the Devore, the Hazari, Hierarchy and a lot more. But vidiians and kazon?? for god sake.. that will be the worst decision. There are out there far more better choices than those two.

They are likely reasoning that the Kazon were Voyagers main villians for two seasons, hence include them. And the Vidians were, IMO, great and severly underused.

That was the problem. Voyager wasted 2 seasons with the kazon and precisely those 2 seasons are considered the worst 2 seasons of the entire franchise... that says it all.

About the Vidiian, of course they were underused, because that was their purpose, just appear in a few episodes and thats all. Their technology was supossedly to be far worst than Voyager's (they even didnt have transporter technology maybe discarded due to their own genetic problem) and their ships are re-used models (same spot of a couple of kazon ships) of other species appeared in Voyager as well and even in other movies (i can remember now the merchanmant of star trek III that is the same ship as one of the Vidiians).

Anyways, kazon, vidiian or watever, in the end, who cares since the decision is already taken. Just lets hope it is the right one.

No argument there. Although I think if they had swapped the Vidians with Kazon for those two seasons, you would have got a lot more interesting and edgy stories over some dull Klingon knockoffs.

I have no idea why the producers were so loved up on the Kazon.

If the Devs make them better, I would say go for it. In my opinion, the Romulan storyline is the best one in STO, this includes the Romulan Internal Wars, the Republic's Independence, the Reman's Rebellion, the UFP/KDF Interventions, and the Tholian Tau Dewa Incursions.
