For people claiming to not be against it...You sure are doing a bang up job of trying to knock the thread off topic with accusations that its a T5 Connie Thread in disguise...Even with the explicit comment from the OP that its not.
Jump back and read (reading is your freind).
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
As for reading, I think I have that down better then you. Since youve stomped around this thread with complete disregard for the OP.
But atleast you were able to pick up on the fact that my post was in fact towards your attempts to derail the thread. So +5 points to the guy under the bridge.

People did the same thing to my T1 Miranda Refit suggestion that had nothing to do with a T5 discussion..They love to turn the thread into a topic they can smash and kick and scream about.
Just another reason why Cryptic needs to clarify their stance on this issue.
Look, when the game launched, they did this big write-up on the Excalibur class, it's design, development, etc...all from an in-universe perspective. For all intents and purposes, they turned the Excalibur into their game flagship.
But, when the tough questions get asked, Cryptic skirts the issue, and has done so for 2 years.
I think it's time for them to clarify, with no stammering, stuttering or sliding, if they see the Excalibur/Vesper and the Connie as the same ship, and therefore unable to ever see a retrofit.
And this is why they haven't answered it yet:
1) If they affirm that they are the same ship, then they invalidate their own in-game canon.
2) If they acknowledge the ships aren't the same, then they have to explain why they have ignored giving the ship a retrofit for 2 years, even though all the other Tier 2s got their retrofits and mirrors.
However, I feel it's time they get straight with us and put the issue to bed, once and for all.

wtf peeps ???? why not just ask 'em to retrofit it to TIER 4 ????
mind ya this is just my 2 CR worth.

Why would a ship (Excalibur) which was built sometime between 2401 and 2409, be retrofit to a lesser degree (Tier 4) when 2 ships (Nova, Saber) which were built in the 2370s, are retrofitted to a greater degree (Tier 5)?
That still wouldn't fix the in-game lore incongruity.

If your issue is "in-game lore incongruity," you are playing the wrong game sister.
It's not myfault ifyoufeel trolledbymyDisco ball...Sorry'boutit.
If your issue is "in-game lore incongruity," you are playing the wrong game sister.
If Cryptic didn't want in-game lore to matter, then they shouldn't have gone out of their way to make it such a big point in the development of the game, with "Path to 2409" and all the in-character / in-universe blog entries and such.
But, as I stated, they can clear this issue up with a simple forum post.
Either:
1.) The Lore matters, therefore there is no reason we can't have a T5 Excalibur/Vesper.
-or-
2.) The Lore doesn't matter, and they see the Excalibur/Vesper as having no difference with the Constitution Refit.
It's a catch-22, for sure. But it's THEIR catch-22 to resolve.

We don't close them because the Devs have said "Never Gonna Happen". We close them because people predictably start arguing over them with each other and with the Devs and generally demand that Cryptic do 'X' or not do 'X' even after Cryptic has said "no".
The fact that this thread specifically invokes the T5 Connie as part of its argument means that it has officially crossed the line from request to flame/troll bait.
You want an upgraded Exeter and/or Excalibur? Fine, request that in the proper subforum (Federation Shipyards). As long as it doesn't turn into Yet Another Forum Disturbance, it can (maybe) stay. But leave the T5 Constitution out of the discussion, even as an example.
