You going to buy a ship for a while?

It strikes me that todays announcement has had, among other effects, potentially put a huge dent in ship sales.

I have to admit, it's looking pretty hard to justify buying a tier 5 ship now, when in a month or two it will be outclassed, if not actually obselete.

It has made me anticipate keenly Cryptics better explanation of this hinted at ship upgrade process.

I need that information to decide the best use of my resources, including money.

Has todays announcement put you off buying tier 5 ships?

Or does it make no difference to your decision in this regard?

    These ships are already OP, and Cryptic needs to nerf them NOW!!!

    And YET ANOTHER ONE. For ****'s sake...there's a post about T6 ships. 2 of them in fact. This is seriously getting old.
    My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.

    Yes! Also, Cryptic please buff Vesta and nerf all other science vessels. Fleet Nebula is too OP!

    No, but my reason isn't because of the announced tier 6 ships. It's because I will only be buying KDF ships. And last I checked, the last ship they got was their Dyson bundle, which I didn't buy, though I did buy the Mogh.

    When they showed the T6 Raptor image...my first thought was Mogh meets Jenny Craig.

    I have already blown cash on all of the t5 ships I wanted. Im not happy about t6. What WOULD make me happy is less stuff nobody asked for and more stuff that people did. EI Being able to play poker with friends in my crew lounge with friends and maybe bet EC. People have wanted that for years and we are told time and time again that its either not going to happen or its on a back burner. Enough already. What am I going to do with a lvl 60(70?) toon on a t6 ship? Play the same friggin 3-4 pve's like everyone does now? Its not that I don't like change, but I'm really finding these moves frustrating when the gameplay issues are obvious.

    LOL. Why didn't they just reuse one of the excellent lower level raptors. Decisions like these ... taken by Herr Commandant Rivera of course ... just blow my mind. I mean why in the name of all that is holy wouldn't you chose a fan favorite.

    I am buying Zen and saving Fleet Credits and EC, but I will not be buying any ship's.... kinda disappointed too, I wanted that fish tank... :(

    I would pay money for an add-on which provides social/mini games. Something to divert our attention from the endless attrition and repetition of STFs. Sadly, Cryptic isn't interested.

    Well, that's because I'm not asking about the tier six ships.

    I'm asking about people's buying decisions.

    Im not touching the CStore for a while. No new Starships, no Keys.

    My outlook on this is that with the likelyhood theyll release a Delta Rising Ship Pack Ill be investing in the Federation Version so I can actually get ahead of all the nonsense of buying one at a time.

    Hopefully theyll have T6 versions of the Sao Paulo, Vesta, Oddy and Avenger. All ships Ive been slowly working up to buy.

    I usually fly a Tactical Escort so Ill be disappointed if I cant fly a T6 Sao Paulo.

    Was about to totally redo one toon tomorrow with new xindi carrier, pets, UR consoles and all new ground gear for the BOs. Now nope. If they are releasing all better gear and current can't be upgraded fully why bother?

    There isn't really any C-store ship I want right now anyway (I've already got regrets about buying too many store escorts), but I am kicking myself for getting a bunch of rep gear a couple days ago. I'd completely forgotten I'd wanted to wait until today's news. At least I only "wasted" 30k dilithium.

    Since there aren't any more UG cards, and I can't find a PWE card anywhere in my county, I can't buy anything. :rolleyes:

    idk about 90% of my c-store stuff came from me farming dilithium except the scimatar 3 pack which i saved money on the side for. but this T6 ship news won't stop me from probally buying anything else.

    reading that, it looks like your still considering buying a t5 ship, but your looking if anyone else is going to do it as well?

    my answer is no, because i dont have any money these days, not even a few pounds to spare for the game. eventually i might, but that is someway off yet.

    Never been interested in any of the T5 ships.

    Now if they allow me to upgrade my oddys to hangar pets instead of aqaurias. Then maybe. I spend zen already on the scimitar bundle and oddy bundle.

    For us that have c store ships, they should allow us to do something fleet related to it. Im not talking about weapons and consoles. More along the line of extra device point or some fleet related aux bonus. Can alway do with auxilary.

    My plans concerning ship buys are on hold until i know more about the upcoming expansion.
    And since most things mostly are up to change, i'll wait for the next expansion going live.

    Yes, I am going to buy the Vesta bundle. They said T5 are NOT going to be outdated. People can complain as much as they want, but I'm looking forward to the Expansion and I don't think Devs are liars.

    I'll start saving up a lot of dilithium after I'm done with Vestas for two months until Expansion hits our screens. That's still a whopping number of Zen eventually for what will come.

    I tend to seek, find and never regretted positivity. Things change in years, and I've played many other MMOs that did the exact same thing, raising the cap of the game to keep progressing through it.

    Why not, I may buy an Intrepid as well after Vestas. With the new bridge coming out, I'd like a canon ship treated well.

    right now nothing is firmly anchored to the ground. what happens when you buy that vesta pack one day and find out the devs, typically went back on what they expecting? it wouldnt be the first time they done such a thing either.

    it would be a wiser action to see whats what.

    if i had the money i would put a little into the t3 excelsior :P

    No they won't to me. It wouldn't make sense to kill C-Store ships. It's what drives their business except lock boxes. They sometimes went back on what they announced, but on minor stuff.

    On another note, proud owner of a Fleet Excelsior :P
