Congratz to the Hobos. You guys did a 600 Million EC testing before the match and came up with something we couldn't adapt to fast enough, so you deserve that victory. From a third persons view this may seem like a boring match but in fact it was one of the most strategical fought matches I've ever fought. When we had 4:4 it was just thrilling, and that's what every match should be like.
In the end it also has not been a surprise for me, that HOBOs would enter the finals since the level of anticipation had been a step ahead of what we encountered before. From what I can tell, you guys did a great job seeing our attacks coming, for even to nuke RF, BO, DEM and Omega from one of our Tacs before he even used Alpha.
To be honest: In fact we were surprised not just from your changed Setup, but also from your strength in the match itself. We didn't expect that, at least because our matches before the finals were nowhere near that timing and anticipation.
And to the people who didn't know:
This tournament was held primarily to push the german PVP community, that's why many unknown fleets took part there. It was meant to be a FUN event in the first place. Yet again it was "thanks" to the hardcore folks that the "event" became a "tournament" with a serious note, and i have to say that some members of a certain other german fleet where the main reason for that referring to posts in the german forum and even in the live chat during the finals.
As a member of Raumpatrouille Elysion and in the name of all other members of the fleet I have to say this: You never hear a thing from our fleet, we are 7-9 people in total and normaly we stay calm and don't even take part in forum discussions, but we won't tolerate arrogance and any sort of defamation in the future, even it that means to never play a match against you guys apart from tournament fights. This was just utterly brashness and if I were you I would go and offer my apologies to all participants of Omega Fleet, at least the one responsible for that rage post in the german forum which was soaked in arrogance and overestimation of one's own capabilities.
What you didn't know is that we coached Omega before their main fights, so we knew how strong they are and that they worked a lot to get to that strength. Some say that there are fleets that have 3 Wells and 2 Bugs in their premade lineup for years, and then rage about people who use 3 Recluse with Beta Pets....seriously, get some TacTeams. And with rage I mean defamation. You guys have neither the right to judge other fleets for their healing, nor should you tell unexperienced people that 3 Recluse is a "god mode noob" Setup. A Recluse pops in an instant if you get the burst and the timing right, or how can it be explained we got 4 kills against a HOBO team with 4 Recluse, just by using 2 normal escorts? A team of 3 Recluse is in no way more or less op than a team with 3 Wells.
To sum it up: Congratulations to HOBOs for winning the finals and my respect to Tal for showing a lot of class in the Interview after the match. Hopefully this tournament will get all the yet unknown fleets deeper into PVP, in the end this has been the main ambition of the event.
Without any doubt the evul HOBOs are the most powerful PvP Fleet of the game! They are many, they are vicious, they are resolute, they are ruthless, they hate all the Feds, they are proud to be evuls...:mad:
