I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

I would have preferred they just got voyager home, cancelled enterprise after its first episode and then brought back voyager where they get stuck in the gamma quadrant instead and have to make it past the dominion to the wormhole rofl. Just to see how good they really are
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

worst spinnoff ever...cast was good though, but the characters were just "meh"
so, cast was good and a few episodes were actually well written, but it ultimately didn't propell the franchise into something excellent.
I guess being the second spinoff of a spinoff is really just an uphill battle.
The Borg, the Queen borg, the species 8472, the Seven of Nine character , i said the character, not the catsuit, you sexually frustrated nerds ;-) , the fact of being stranded in an unknown part of the Galaxy, no Earth ESD or Risa ... try and behave all cheesy goodie Starfleet all the time in that situation... ah yes I forgot : Voyager vs. Equinox.
But yeah Voyager is my favourite series probably because it was the first star trek series I saw.
Although empathetically Paris is my favourite character, Picardo was great, at an Elim Garak level I would say.
That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.
To be honest apart from the films, enterprise and voyager were the only star trek I actually liked.
Enterprise because it was what I call "nuts n bolts sci-fi", I hate any sci-fi where I can't see a link between the tech used and the tech we have, with Enterprise the ships the uniforms, the weapons etc were made in such a way as you could see the "nuts n bolts" of them and link them with current objects. This is another reason I absolutely loved Firefly.
Voyager because.. well .. to be honest it was better than anything before, better cast, better acted, better sets, better costumes, better effects and better scripts.
TOS was OK when I watched it as a kid many many years ago the first time around, but it's just too dated and the only actors with any talent were Nimmoy and Doohan, Shatner was an awefull actor and as bad as the scripts were he made them worse.
TNG was just so poorly acted it was comical, the ships sets were too moulded plastic, the planet sets were too "painted on a wall" and the effects just weren't very good.
DS9 was just plain boring to me, the only character I was mildly interested in was Garak and overall it was too dark and dreary a series for me.
I actually rewatched Voyager in its entirety a few weeks ago on the Netflix...
It was... *cough*... I mean, I may have watched about 3-6 episodes on fast forward (not joking)... but good things?
1. Jeri Ryan. Yep, her catsuit helps, LOL... but I liked the character.
2. The Delta Flyer
3. Omega particles
4. The Prometheus
5. The Dauntless, and Quantum Slipstream
6. Transphasic torpedos
7. Tuvok
8. The warp core effect in engineering looked cool.
9. The Borg
10. The fact that Harry Kim always got shafted for a promotion :P

1. Tuvok in general. He's one of two competent and well-acted people on the ship.
2. The Doctor. As above.
3. Seven of TRIBBLE--I mean, Seven of Nine. Blatant sexploitation, and Jeri Ryan's a damn good actress despite the crappy scripts.
Other than that, the show was badly-acted and horribly-written drek. And the less said about Neelix, the better; not only is he a pathological liar whose cooking endangers the entire ship and sickens multiple crew members on multiple occasions, his entire kitchen is one giant health and safety hazard, and would be even if he were NOT on a moving starship, but worst of all, he's a clown. And a bad clown at that.
OK, I'll admit Voyager is my least favourite Trek series by a long way. It killed my interest until, years later, I caught up with Enterprise on repeats.
Having said that, there are a number of positive points on reflection.
(1) Janeway. She gets a lot of schtick but we have *very* few mainstream fictional female leaders of her obvious authority and calibre. Strike one for Trek being forward-looking there.
(2) The Doctor. One of Trek's very few characters to genuinely grow in the run of his series, Picardo is always watchable and his cynicism is a welcome break from Starfleet norms.
(3) B'elanna and her Klingon Heritage. Now, I'm a massive Klingon fan but Torres normally comes across as whiny IMO. However, in Prophecy and Barge of the Dead we got to see something of Klingon mythology which added greatly to the depth and background of the species. Plus, the episode where Torres' Klingon half is separated out an proceeds to berate her for weakness is priceless.
(4) Korath. An alpha quadrant scientist develops reliable time travel... and it's a Klingon. One in the eye for the naysayers who keep dismissing the Klingons as barbarians.
10. The fact that Harry Kim always got shafted for a promotion :P
i cant recall kim asking for a promotion or that there was anything noted about this rank in detail, i got the idea that because the crew was so far from home, promotions either didnt mean anything or that promoting too many people up means that eventually everyone could be a commander under janeway, all fighting each other for who can shout the loudest. whatever the case, it was never really touched on that he was ever "shafted".
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
Here here!
I'm not finished with Voyager yet, but I'm lovin it!
Scorpion was one of my favorite episodes, loved the Q civil war.
Favorite character is definitely the Doctor, and Seven of Nine was great (The whole catsuit thing I found kind of weird and out-of-place in the midst of all the people in uniform...). Yes, there were plotholes. Yes, there were bad episodes that I struggled through.
But the series as a whole is very entertaining.

Well, Harry gave an in-series explanation towards the end (when he spoke with his parents)... basically, there were a limited amount of positions available on the ship.
STILL.... Tuvok gets a promotion. Tom Paris gets DEMOTED, then PROMOTED AGAIN... while Harry almost died like 50 times for the crew... and Janeway couldn't even give him a Lt. Junior Grade pip?
An amazing EMH (quite possibly my most liked character from Star Trek ever).
A couple Vulcans including Tuvok (who doesn't like Vulcans?).
Seven of Nine (other than the obvious eye catchers... I like those 'fish out of water' characters, same as the EMH, Data, T'Pol, even Garak, another great char).
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

i never saw the appeal in jeri ryan to be honest.
but something positive about voyager? Neelix, just because.

I call it, the Stoutes paradox.

The blue, Barney-like character Naomi Wildman made us suffer through for an entire episode...

It did try some new stuff and to get back to the original concept of Trek (a la TOS)
We got to see more about the Klingon backstory like the Day of Honour and Sto'Vo'Kor
