Maybe buy a ship you like. A few cosmetic items from the store. Exchange for Dilithium to get some rep equipment...

Could get a C-store ship. The Vesta Bundle is a pretty good investment. Best Sci ship out there. Could also go for a different bundle like the Odyssey if you're more into cruisers. Of course those are T5 endgame ships.

There's also the TOS, DS9, and Enterprise bundles, and the TOS and Ent bundles come with a T1 ship for your new character. DS9 bundle is a bit tricky as it comes with DOffs, so you might not be able to get the most out of that until you unlock the DOff system around lv 10, but it does come with 2 leveling phaser ground weapons.

Besides buying extra Bank, Inventory, and Doff Slots, (which you will run out of eventually...) I would horde your Zen horde, and wait until you establish your own individual play style... which will be sometime after you new characters hit VA.

I you go on a buying spree the way you are now, you're going to end up buying something that you'll regret buying later. Wait until you know what you want first...

What to do with it? Wait until season 10.
Should I start posting again after all this time?

Mainly I play Tactical character and and am a fan of TNG and Voyager mainly if that helps people make more focused suggestions :)

Favorite ships from the shows are the Enterprise D and E as well as Voyager and that starfleet ship the doctor teleported to in the Alpha Quadrant that splits into 3 bits.

Buy a big pile of dilithium and never have to worry about dilithium costs for reputation items ever again. Also save some dilithium for the upcoming crafting system.

The Multi-Vector Advanced Escort (the Prometheus, the ship the Doctor was sent to) is a very fun ship... you will have to wait to fly the class of ship (you get the bare-bones version for free at commander, I think... or lt. commander), and then wait a little longer for the Multi-Vector version (gotta buy that one).

    It's worth it, IMO. :)

You could pop for the Galaxy bundle, too, so you could have the 1701-D with all the fancies... but, some find this ship (the Galaxy-X from All Good Things, in particular) to be lacking.

I agree with whoever else said to save and wait... you've got a nice stash, so it would be a shame to waste it.

If you like the Enterprise-E, get the Regent Assault Cruiser Refit. It's a great cruiser, a very solid ship for a tac captain with the right setup. And you can use the Sovereign costume on it. Definitely worth 2500 Zen.

I would buy an a couple of items, and save it for something else to come out. I wouldn't spend it all at once. As you know they will have more items coming out in the future.

Buy a lot of 10 key packs and sell them on the exchange. Keys are immensely overpriced right now, you'll be extremely rich.

Don't waste it on dilithium, those are probably people selling on the exchange.

I agree with those who said buy utility items, bank slots, inventory slots, boff slots, doff slots...then look at ships, appearance items, and c store boffs, then maybe some doff packs or keys to use or sell on the market.

    Then just save it.

No, the sugestion to buy dilithium is not because I am selling it. It's a mere possibility one has.
I've been in several stages on the game of either using zen to get dil, or using dil to get zen.

As many things in life, my suggestion is balance. If you never spend anything waiting for the perfect thing, you will never buy anything, because you will wait, and wait, and will always think the same at every point. If you spend it all then there's the possibility that one of these days there's a new thing you want an can't afford.
So, spend some and keep some.

The best thing to do is not use it yet, and wait until you reach max level.

The most interesting things to buy are generally ships IMO.

There are ships you could buy and use at lower levels, but you don't striclty need them, and the ship itself will no longer be of use at endgame.
Those ships also come with a universal console that you can take off the ship and install on your endgame ships, but at this point, you probably don't really know what kind of console is good or would fit your play style preferences.

rather then flitter the zen away on a lot of little items you could always wait a few more months and get the romulan Legacy Pack and what better excuse do you need to create a romulan character.

if there are any smaller items you need later you wont have to wait long to get them with 500 zen coming in every month.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

LOL, this is the worst thing he could do.

Why to waste ZEN into dilithium when you can gather dilithium in a daily basis and with no efforts at all? ZEN is far more important and expensive than dilithium. And not everybody wants to have their reputations done in 3 days. Some people just dont have so much hurry, they prefer to ENJOY the game.

The first things to think of are, bank slots, more character slots, doff roster slots and things like that. Once you finish with that, you will have about 10k zen, with that you still can buy 2 bundle packs.

Unless the op is not going for a ship, the best inversion is to buy a bundle ship pack.

I would just stick to Romulans. I would do the Following:

Level a few garbage Romulans as well as your main to get 5 Superior Romulan Operative Bridge Officers. Use whatever free ship and gear you want on the leveling process.

If you Create Fed Tac Romulan: (How I would spend it.)

    2500 zen- Tac Scimitar Only
5650 Buy 50 Keys: Sell for around 2.8 million to 3 million each the keys.= 140,000,000 ec.
    35,000,000 ec- Plasmonic Leach
    45,000,000 ec- 3x Rare Technicians.
    45,000,000 ec- Marian Francis Dolcimer
5,000,000- Damage Control Engineer, or Warp Cor Engineer, or Something Else that you fancy.

5850 Convert the Rest into Dilithium= 877500 Dilithium to buy Fleet Stuff.

Zen Converted into Dilithium just dump into fleet projects for Fleet Credit: You will need Elite Fleet Drones (100 FC), Elite Shield 65K (FC), Elite Fleet deflector that increases damage 65k FC. Warp Core with Amp (65k FC) if you want 6 DOFF Spot (150 FC). 5x Spire Consoles 250k FC, Advanced Fleet Weapons (250k FC)

Bam you have the highest DPS tac ship in the game after about an afternoon worth of work. I.e. you are completely caught up even though you have not played for 3 years. LOL. if you do your skill tree right. Use this alt to farm dilithium and reputation like there is no tomorrow if you want other alts. And whatever left over dilithium you have convert to zen after the next season when everyone will be sinking their dilithium into crafting projects.

Toss em... Use them to drive down the Dil:Zen conversion rate... or just don't use them at all
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

If you're Fed (not Rom or Klink), I recommend buying the Connie. You can strip Retrofit Phaser Arrays off those (just reclaim the ship and grab more) and put it in whatever ship you're leveling with, which gives you good quality weapons until you hit 50 and start working on endgame gear. Very convenient for leveling.

Also, the DOff limit can be upgraded to 500, if you're into that sort of thing.

Yeah, I still think most of the people telling him to buy dilithium are dilithium sellers.

I really would not both wasting any Zen on items until you max out your toon.

Leveling up in STO is real easy and fast. Prior to going F2P leveling up was a bit slow in STO. That meant you would fly your ship and be limited to the same level of equipment for a longer period of time. After STO became F2P you basically gain one level after every main story mission. At most you will use that ship for 10 mission before you advance to the next rank when you get a more powerful ship and can use higher Mk (mark) equipment.

When I am level up the only thing I spend Zen on are Duty Officer (Doff) slots. If the last time you played STO was a month or so after launch, then Doffs are new to you. Doffs are basically your crew and they can do Doff missions with gives small rewards like a little bit of dilithium and experience. You get your 1st 20 Doff when you reach level 11 and you will get 100 Doff slots to begin with. Doff missions are a totally optional aspect of the game, however, they can be pretty rewarding.

Doffs can help improve space / ground abilities if you "slot" the correct ones to your bridge (they will not become Bridge Officers ; Boffs). The Doff system is pretty complex and deserves it's own thread for discussion. My characters have either 300 or 400 Doff slots and I make use of them as much as I can. They can help you level up even faster.

Couple more additions to my post above. (I am assuming that you did not touch the game since opening). You will need beam arrays of all the same weapon type. My recommendation

Advanced Fleet Weapons: Any type. All you need is fleet credit and dilithium. You can get these fast. Choice. Antiproton = More Crit. Run 2 Missions at end Game and get 10% boost and you don't need the Fleet Warp Core and 1 Less Advance Fleet Weapon so you can save some Zen/Dilithium. The missions take about 30 minutes to an hour.

I am assuming that you don't want to spend hours grinding so just go with the Antiproton and the Ancient Oblesek set. Again we are looking for almost the best without spending hours of grinding.

Set up key binds so that you have all the abilities linked to a few keys. Do a little resource on how aux to bat works. The funny thing is after about 2 days you would be a DPS monster that can farm any resource you want after you level your romulan.
