hmmm, well no, since you have the possibility to have 4 tactical power, + sensor analysis and 4 scie console slot in the fleet version compared to the 3 slot for the fleet galaxy... also 9 base turn rate.
wich is better to have? 2 more weapons slot or 1 ensign and lt tac bo combined with 1 more sci console slot and sensor analysis?
drunk, what do you think?
I can only say that I use the uni on *my* ship as a sci. I don't know if sensor analysis boosts damage above 2 extra weapon slots, however, that's something for number crunchers to think about And I do't use romplas either (so no embassy dmg consoles).

Hey guys, I think the Galaxy is finally getting the upgrade that it needs.
It's called the Guardian Cruiser...okay, not really an upgrade for the Galaxy, but the concept art looks pretty Galaxy-ish!
The guardian only shares some similarities with the GCS, just like the Ambassador or even the Constitution.
But i agree, the Venture looks very Guardian-ish, i think it would be nice if we could use Venture ship parts at the Guardian. The Galaxy Class legacy could live on.
On the other hand we know nothing about the stats and BOFF layout of the Guardian, i am sure it will have the lamest of all new ships, lol.

It looks more like an Ambassador to me, but then again, IMO if the Ambassador was enlarged it could easily pass as an alternative skin model for the Galaxy (But that's just me), so this Guardian Cruiser is as large as the Galaxy we could be in business!!
I'm sorry to people who I, in the past, insulted, annoyed, etc.

well it not just sensor analysis alone, it also the 2 more bo tact slot, the turn rate and the sci console slot, all this combined make it something that can deliver more "direct" dps than the galaxy.
the fact that we are speaking about a nebula here, is irrelevant.
what i just came to realize and wanted to speak about here, is that the galaxy, the most powerfull ship in the federation in it time is now the less powerfull ship in sto at tier 5 level, even from somes that in it time where less powerfull.
hence the question, is anyone known a tier5 ship that is potentially less powerfull than the galaxy class. now this is not an argument to try to give more tactical edge to the galaxy retrofit.
this ship, in sto is not supposed to be a damage dealer.
but nethertheless, it's still feel strange that the former flaship of the federation is outguned by every other ship in sto.
the bigger ship like the smaller ship, the newer ship like the older ship, the dps ship like the healer ship.... EVERYONE outdps the galaxy.
there is clearly something wrong here, more on the domain of an accurate representation.
or sto is the mirror universe, then that would make sense...well sort of.
The first vessel that I ever served on as captain was called the Enterprise. It was an overworked, underpowered vessel that was always on the verge of flying apart at the seams. In every measurable sense, my Stargazer is far superior. But there are times when I would give almost anything to command the Enterprise again."

yes, but... cryptic designed.
i don't want to hurt anyone feeling but hey, that ship look like what some fans do and post in internet, some horrible kitbash that took pieces of every ship and stick them together.
but hey that could be the closest thing to a galaxy that could be on part with the other ship.
i insist on "could" nethertheless, let see the stats first.

So I flew Borg Disconnected in my Venture last night. Unfortunately, it seems that we lost the Weapon System Efficiency CCA... the thing seems to only have the other three auras now. Just thought you all would want to know this. Go to Tribble on your Galaxy-R to confirm this.
Though it was amusing to see Antimatter Spread actually be useful.

i was just about to post about it, at first i thaught it was a nerf to the galaxy x, then i just get on an other tribble alt with an ecelsior and their the same, no more weapons efficiency auras.
the galaxy x just look ridicule with just the threat auras.
either it a bug or they are going to reassigned them with the expansion.
it still daesn't bold well for the gal x
Calm down, it does seem to be a bug. Let's be fair and wait until we get a statement - currently it sounds like a bug

The Tier5-u Gal-R (non fleet) gets a 3rd tac console.
Edit: Meanwhile, the Regent gets a 5th Eng console slot. =p
What does the Fleet Gal-R get?
"Great War! / And I cannot take more! / Great tour! / I keep on marching on / I play the great score / There will be no encore / Great War! / The War to End All Wars"

I think if the guardian class tier 6 ship had a galaxy skin that would fix the problem if we knew how powerful that ship is.
I hope too.
I know there are many "ifs", but if the Guardian turns out to be a useful ship that can take a active role in STO, i think i could live with it if it would get GCS ship parts (especially newer GCS variants like the Venture for example).
But for now, we simply do not know enough about it to make a good assessment of it.
The pessimist in me, knows they will make it suck. Just because it only remotely resembles the Galaxy, lol.
@orangeitis
Any changes to its BOFF layout or is it just consoles?

Yeah, me too.
Well if the C-Store gets 3-rd tactical console, than the fleet one gets the standard 5-th engineering console it already has. Seems logical.
