Though personally while there is a certain allure to retro firearms, I prefer more modern fair. Its hard to beat the TR-116, whether you use the one for fluidic space, or the one missing the transporter tech.

cerys: about this galaxy yes, my situation tho no i know exactly why they were after me i am the cause of the events that lead us all here. granted being crash landed on an unknown planet for years on end was not my intention but i made the most of the hand i was dealt. yes what they said about me is true but most of it is in the past and in my home galaxy, adn the events that transpired before out arrival here happened in i believe its called the gamma quadrant deep in an unexplored and also unclaimed section of it and involved factions foreign to this galaxy so again your laws wouldnt apply. i simply wanted off of that planet and to test my childrens resolve.... and they continue to impress me. jorin all tho young and temperamental is a strong combatant and leader. tho he has issues with his pride at times. he has great potential. jaessa my eldest is a passionate willful girl. she has a fiery resolve and tempestuous anger that often times consumes her, but when she focus's her anger and passion she has the ability to achieve great things. and then my youngest evelynn, she a kind and compassionate child, her natual afinity to the force is stronger then even mine but she's only capable of a fraction of her true potential due to her limited training.... all tho they may hate me and wish me dead i truly do want the best for them. with each trial they overcome they become stronger from the experience... i hope you'll forgive an old womans ramblings....

Other Security: It looks like an old fashion Earth firearm. Not just from before energy weapons like Phase pistols, but old even when firearms were still in use. Not many around nowadays.
Maco: Well occassionally some entrepeneural captains decide to keep them around just in case of a borg attack, they don't deal too well with bullets and projectiles. Though personally while there is a certain allure to retro firearms, I prefer more modern fair. Its hard to beat the TR-116, whether you use the one for fluidic space, or the one missing the transporter tech.
Security: I don't think I've seen one of those before.
Maco: The more modern ones have some holo shielding installed, but there's still plenty of older models lying around.
*The Security officers are pretty relaxed despite Donovan being creepy, just chatting away. Despite this, he gets the feeling that under the Maco's helmet, he's never dropping his guard, always ready in case Donovan decides to try something*

*the mando leads her thru a very rustic looking interior, much of the plating is lose or missing and as it looks now the inside of the ship looks heavily damaged and in disrepair, they pass by many other engineer looking mandos working to fix the damage until finally thy reach the mess hall where a large majority of the crew are.*
