I was curious if Pandas are willing to compete in a premade vs. premade match now that some of their "A-teamers" are off playing other games. I see a variety of Pandas in the queues and online - easily enough to form a premade, but I've only ever come across 1 full Panda team in the queues since S9.
I had made a challenge to two different Pandas in that thread that was made by a Panda complaining about players nowadays not using math and being squishy. I didn't get a response to those challenges, and then one of the challenge posts was deleted by a moderator because I broke a rule.
So I'm reposting my challenge for a HoBOs vs Pandas match because I never did get an answer. Maybe y'all didn't see the previous challenges since one of them got deleted, but I'm hoping you guys will see this one. Y'all wanna do this or what?
Many pandas now have left the game, pvp is long gone down the drain and so are not looking to play now
I LOVE AND HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH, from my matches against the hobos,
talk about a fleet not stuck in the 80's LOL
I love fleets that embrace EVERYTHING that sto has to offer for pvp,
I live for the day when I can log on and not read about some gutless wonder trying to shame other pvers into not running this console, or that boff layout, or this doff
its, in, the, game
so be it, my manhood is not in jeopardy ever time they patch this game or add awesome new content to it
but enough of the old guard is,
again, been playing mmos since ultima online back in 98', never have I every faced such a complaining group of gamers as sto pvpers, every new ship, every new console, etc
what I see the hobos doing is awesome, its taking what works, its taking what works for MOST pvp engagements, and running with it
pandas remind me of a time when sto was stagnet, and all you needed was some escorts and heal bots (I mean players LOL) and ruining the cues with it all the while claiming skill
no one saw the synergy in it all? no one sees the similar synergy in what the hobos are doing?
if its vape?
if its sci?
I mean, really, were does it say in the rule book that its gotta be a tac scort that makes the kill match after match?
and even better, isn't it awesome we have NOW so many options for team compositions and builds?
I guess I always root for the under dog and stick my nose where it doesn't belong, but really, I have grown weary of a handful of pandas still trying to stear this pvp community towards the past and not towards the awesome, diverse, rock, paper, scissor, random, sometimes awesome hit, pvp that this game is evolving into
most just keep coming on the forums even tho they don't even play the game daily anymore and spew all over us all with doom and gloom
sad, like move on already right?
LOL
by the way, again, I have ZERO affiliation with hobos, I like many others have to read min's stupid posts on opvp where he posts his 1 out 0f 50 good hits and roll our eyes to it
LOL
The problem with the Hobo's is that the leader - Zelda - is trying to get as many people to move over to Star Citizen. So what will happen then? Right now I know that Zelda is still on most of the day, every day(crazy:P) - but what about when Star Citizen really goes live? I guess it will some day.

Don't get crazy. Star Citizen will never be a real thing. :P
the best pandas are gone. and they were the best. they are gone now along with 99% of all the good pvpers to play the game and it will not make a comeback. no glory here in winning anymore. the choices cryptic has made has destroyed not only pvp but the game as well. and star citizen will put the final [small] nail in the game. and fyi the hobos were always good but they never owned kerrat the ISC did until they left the game.
Not really true. A bunch of great Pandas did leave, but there are Pandas who still play the game who are some of the best players I've ever seen. I'd give some examples but I don't want to say any names in case they don't want people to know they're Pandas. You know, since people can't understand that we don't actually cheat, but there's still great Panda players who still play regularly.
Also I still play occasionally.
(You never know who is a Panda. Your best friend might be a Panda. That guy you really hate because he keeps blowing up your internet spaceship might be a Panda. YOU JUST CAN'T KNOW.)

Sorry, can't make it for that weekend. 21st June would be better for me..
That should be fine. I'll talk to our players to make sure and you can do the same. We could push back the time too since I know that's gotta be early on Sunday morning for you.
Let's set a tentative date and time for Saturday June 21, 6:00 PM U.S. Eastern. Not sure if y'all have Europeans that are gonna play, but it might be a bit late for them. We can always change it up if necessary.

One has to look at the bigger picture first. A narrow, possibly biased perspective, sprinkled with a good portion of embitterment, may lead to delusional assertions.
I have played against every notable PvP fleet of the last 2 and a half years, and played together with almost all of them. I know what certain individual players were capable of, and what their perfomance would be when they played as a premade team.
The primary premade of Turkish RP Heroes was virtually unbeatable for months,
The primary premade of Sad Pandas was virtually unbeatable for months,
The primary premade of Inner Circle was virtually unbeatable for months,
and so on.
They would not loose, no matter what.
I know, because I was there. I've witnessed their rise and fall.
No team, and no individual player can genuinly claim the title of being the "best ever", although some might be inclined to think that about themselves and their premades. :P
The retirement of Pandas has been a blow to the quality of PvP in general, but that also applies to the retirement of TSI, TRH, Critz, Elysion, etc.
There is still a good chunk of experienced PvP veterans playing. Their numbers have dwindled, but at least since I have been playing, their numbers were always faster decreasing than they would be replaced anyway. So thats not real news.
To claim there is no "glory" left is pure ignorance. Skilled premades are still duking it out, however, and no offense, but just because you are not part of it, doesn't diminish the "glory" of such matches at all.
And regarding ISC,
I've been there at ISC's prime. Befriended them, played with them and against them a lot. There were a Kerrat fleet and never managed to evolve into a serious PvP team, whereas the Hobos did. A lot of the ISC guys even dismissed teamwork-based achievemts as some sort of "cheapness", which was part of the reason why the skilled ISC'ers eventually left the fleet and joined elsewhere. What do you think would happen if you put a bunch of KDF Kirkers against a teamwork-heavy KDF PvP premade? Don't sugarcoat the past too much.
I agree with hank.
Also, I dont like hitting dead horse, as well.
And, since we are evoking past, I remember that TRH "prime unbeatable time". Srsly, I never felt more helpless then fighting that team. I mean we could/we did beat every other team (at the time when Hobo started "evolving from a Kerrat fleet" - as that is something bad, being Kerrat fleet). So for that, those guys have earned respect. It was like fighting big impenetrable organism. Good times. Just my 2cents.

As a co-founder of TRH I was back then very well aware of how ISC was operating; some stuff that has no place to be discussed in a public forum you may or may not be aware, but trust me on it, compared to the people ISC lost before you joined them, the remaining PvP'ers in ISC entertained a rather questionable attitude towards teamwork, and team-pvp in general. How often did ISC field 5-men arena premades? Shoudn't open old wounds so I'm gonna stop here talking about it.

Pretty much well said to hank, I personally will play in this so called match if I feel it was right as a team, the current pandas don't cut to same level of the old group. we will not put a date on matched Iuntil we have the synergy of the old pandas. last tiime i jumped into a premade after 3 months not playing against inner circle as a emergency. They beat us 15:4 took like 45 mins to do it, however it was evident that there was no synergy in our team. My build out healed everyone on the two sides, and my timing was a little off but not crazy just rusty.
conclusion is until pandas either currently come back and learn the metagame, or the new and old work on something together the sad truth is pandas are not a viable premade for top end competition. I hate to say it until we get in game properly.

Aren't you setting the bar a bit high? That's like the coach of The Bulls saying we will not compete in any NBA games until I feel our current team is at the same level as our championship teams with Jordan and Pippen.
And really, you've put yourself in a Catch 22. You say you won't schedule a match until you get better synergized, but how exactly do you expect to get better synergized without playing any matches? Divine intervention seems unlikely, so the only thing I can think of that will begin get a new era of Pandas to approach the same level of synergy as the old guard is to start practicing, hitting the queue, and arranging matches.
Also, you might want to talk with Zenith Nader (and the other active Pandas) as he mentioned the weekend of June 21st being good for him and I had set a tentative time for the match at 6 PM U.S. Eastern time zone. Are you cancelling this?

Gotta agree, and I've been saying it a lot myself. We need to lose some matches to find out what our strengths and weaknesses are, it's part of the process.
lol guys, most of the veteran pandas are not willing to pvp anymore just accept it. you simply cannot force someone to continue playing an online-game if they dont want to. there were also days where i really didnt feel like playing sto, especially in the actual situation of pvp it is getting more and more boring.
Ofc i am also a bit disappointed that most of the guys quitted, i always enjoyed all the matches against sad pandas since my first premade matches i have ever had were against the original pandas! so you cannot change it if it is their decision.
This is funny pvp has been dead for years. Its not hard to be the best pvp fleet in sto when there has only been 2 or 3 top tier fleets playing at a time. I used to make fun of the pandas for claiming superiority and dominance over mangled fleets that barely had 5 guys to form a team. now we have a new fleet putting pandas in the same position they used to love putting other fleets in. Calling them out on the forums sending messages out of the blue for an instant challenge to other fleets after spending months on there setup god forbid you didn't accept there instant challenge you would be slandered in opvp. Truth is if you want to be the best pvp fleet in sto just get 5 guys who all run autohotkey and spend hours a day finding one of the hundreds of exploits that are in this game. The truth is no synergy = no script writers lol.
This is funny pvp has been dead for years. Its not hard to be the best pvp fleet in sto when there has only been 2 or 3 top tier fleets playing at a time.
I see a problem here. There never has been something like "best PVP Fleet". It all comes down to a good composition of very skilled player. In the end the names of those fleets who once have been called "best" had one thing in common....they included the same @handles over and over again, with a few exceptions. There are lets say 20-30 people who can be seen as the "core" of the term "best premade fleet", simply because they took part in a few of them over time. Of course there are many other player who played in those fleets, but the moment a fleet has been called best, at least 1 or two well known player were part of it or even created the relevant fleet. So of course we had a few "best fleets" since season 1, but you have to take a close look at the guys who made those fleets great and you will find quite a number of them active right now, playing in....well...the "best" fleets atm.
The fleets changed, the veterans did not, they just decreased in numbers.
I remember a day when NAZ asked for a premade in OPVP about 1,5 years ago, and the first 5 guys who put their x in there were...well let's say it has been a quite startling random gathering of people. I was part of it, and until now this has been one of the most entertaining matches I ever had.
We were from 4 different fleets and faced the best team the pandas could field at that time. The match lastet for more than 2 hours and ended 15:12 in favor of the Pandas.
What i want to point out here are 2 things:
1. It's not the fleet, it's the people you play with in a team...and in this case Teamspeak of course has been essential.
2. In my opinion, if we want to talk just about fleets, there are 3-4 of them out there who really can compete with each other on a level like in the "sugarcoated" good old days, and regarding this sunday, since a long time some of those fleets are going to clash their heads outside a regular tournament just for fun.
