One can use the sound system in their car whenever they want. It's cool. But some of these people with their disco balls and party poppers are like the thugs who drive through a neighborhood at 3AM with the windows rolled down with heavy bass rap music blaring full blast.
That is using their sound system in an illegal manner. Virtually every city, county, or other municipality has noise ordinances. Your analogy is flawed.
Nope, tech support. I have to fix computers when people get it in their heads that they know better than the software developers who create the programs they use.
That makes no sense (trying to be cute fail). I bet you get a lot of calls from people who think Word should be a spreadsheet like Excel! (Also, I work in software QA, so I have pretty good base to stand on, can't speak for everyone though)
You have the personality of a telemarketer that is for sure. Oh 6pm, dinner time? Don't mind me, I just want to call and sell you cut rate insurance. Not illegal but highly annoying.
Party amplifiers and poppers are fun and I don't see why people hate them so much. The devs made the right choice putting them in. The show wasn't 100% serious all the time so I don't see why the game should be, especially in social zones where people are expected to chill out.
I do miss being able to drop party amps during STFs and watching the borg dance as they were trying to kill me.
Usually, quoting someone means the response is directed at them.
As you seem to be unfamiliar with jokes that are more complex than throwing a disco ball to watch the funny space people dance (over and over and over and over), I will introduce you to this wonderful new concept you may not have heard of:
the use of irony to mock or convey contempt.
"Shaani sarcastically quoted someone else with a line mocking aloishammer's attitude towards socializing with players."
Y'know, just like spamming someone's screen full of pop-ups interferes with them playing the game outside of your little world.
Still going with that "interferes with playing the game" thing that I never said, huh? Well . . . I'm sure that strawman did something to deserve the beating you're giving it.
I bet you get a lot of calls from people who think Word should be a spreadsheet like Excel!
You have no idea... There are whole websites dedicated to true tech support stories. I actually support a doctor's office whose staff are exactly as you (and I) described. Scary, when you think about it. These are the people who are supposed to render your medical care, and they can barely operate the electronics that make it all possible.

While electronics certainly make health care easier, I'm not sure you can suggest they make it possible.
You can get a lot out of tapping soneones chest with a stick. No silicon chip required.
You spend a lot of time looking down at people don't you?
What's funny is that aloishammer actually agrees with me about just having a way to turn it off client-side. We actually totally agree with each other on all important points, except for the disco ball still being funny.
We're both morons for continuing to argue. I just thought I'd point that out.

Neurology (which is the specialization of said office) is virtually impossible without the electronics. The only viable treatment prior to silicon circuitry was acupuncture, and it only treated the symptoms of nerve damage.
Thank you very much OP for finding this fix. Becouse actually this is a workaround or a fix for a buged item. Becouse thats what it is the party amp: a buged and broken item wich is used to troll and grif ppl, and was never fixed despite ppl reported back then when apeared.
Read carefully the description, and why its an exploit/troll item: http://sto.gamepedia.com/Subspace_Party_Amplifier.
"This animation is OVERRIDEN by any other animations...."
But its not overriden by other animations/movements, thus its exploited into trolling and grifing players. I've seen that alot during the dance contest on Rise last summer or even once in Nimbus dance floor when some1 was trying to do that mission to accuire the fan dance emote.
It should've been overriden by any other emotes but its not.

We actually don't disagree all that much on that point either. I think the substantiative difference is that I just don't care about them, and am perfectly willing to ignore their very presence since I can still do whatever it is I'm doing when one appears.
It's only trolling when it is against the rules. I am using devices exactly as intended, and working around player exploits to block said devices.
15.1You must observe these Terms, all Rules of Conduct, all applicable laws and all basic rules of etiquette and common courtesy when using the Service.
k. cheat or utilize unauthorized exploits in connection with the Games or the Service;
l. using or exploiting any bugs, errors, or design flaws to obtain unauthorized access to the Service or to gain an unfair advantage over other players;
n. take any action that disrupts the Service or that negatively affects or may prohibit other users from enjoying the Website, the Games or any other aspect of the Service.
It is de facto legal though, because Cryptic isn't going to ban paying customers for exploiting party balls (or for ignoring them).
Why is it that most of you seem to consider having any interaction with any human being to be "trolling"?
While we're truely sorry for your inability to socialize outside of a tightly controlled environment or interact in a civil manner with anything aside from with your anime body pillows, I fail to see how a social item being used socially constitutes "trolling".
Note that you are also choosing to be in these social zones, by your free will, you are not being "forced".
Frankly the comparrisons I commonly see people making between disco and true matters of "force" are nothing short of disturbing and signs of severe social misallignment or even mental illness, both of which are treatable by a professional.
I recommend following the lessons of this video should you feel offended by the above or by the use of social items in your internet social pixels: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unkIVvjZc9Y
Regardless of any argument, some players are not okay with this. The onus is on YOU to fix their feeling of being griefed.
Why do you allow this schism to exist?
Lerpyderp, it has nothing to do with pixels and everything to do with the intent behind the behavior. Your setting up some nice strawmans though and I'm sure others will come to knock them down for you.
Definitely not annoying someone else for your own entertainment.
Maybe it's not trolling by your definition, but if you entertain yourself by dropping party balls on someone who actively used a legitimate way to stop dancing to the first one, that's just sad.

Nail struck squarely on head.
Well, you can only activate 1 per 30m...
We are nerds on the Internet. Lacking self-awareness is our right.
Was that supposed to sound creepy or something?
Erm.... not so much.

Agreed. See my notes from earlier.
