I thought we established Cryptic gave these commands to us. We have the answer already.
Because they've never made a mistake or left something "out in the open" that wasn't intended, like that one saucer that a few people could get on that one ship until Cryptic went "Oh, TRIBBLE" and removed it again? :P

It has been mentioned in the thread before that this is not a mistake, nor an exploit, as seen in lan451's post on this:
Using debug commands isn't an exploit. From what I understand, the game is intentionally set up that way to allow us access to certain ones. During the missing textures bug that lasted many of us over 6 months, Crytpiccliff came and gave us a temporary work around using some of those debug commands and even expressed that he was grateful that the game was set up that way so that we could use them.
There's no exploiting going on here. The tribble cave and SFA however...there might be.
In fact, it helped many of us back then to succesfully play STO without issues. One single command.
Basically it's a tool, a part of the game. Furthermore it's a tool even the devs. have recommended using when encountering issues. So unless you consider multiple posts by a dev. explaining players how to use this as a "mistake", no, it's not an exploit.
You have failed to point out the post where Cryptic said this wasn't okay.
You already failed. Completely. With that whole nonsense spiel about filling someone's screen with popups that keep them from playing being comparable to a disco ball which does nothing of the sort. Talk to someone else- they might still think you have a shred of credibility to your name, unlike me.

Sighs heavily.......but Ashkrik is right on this one.
The command in question is part of a suite of commands that Cryptic have reccommended on occasion.
Even given the binary nature of the choice, it is more likely given past utterences that this is a legal move than an illegal one.
Would it make things clear if Cryptic gave us a definitive yay or nay on the issue? Of course.
But, in the meantime, its more reasonable to presume it'll be allowed than not allowed.
No, it's using a socializing tool exactly as intended. If you don't want to participate, you're welcome to remove yourself from the public setting. Your time is not any more valuable than mine, so you're not allowed to tell me I cannot do something that is explicitly sanctioned. By the same token, I'm not requiring you to participate or to leave, I'm merely informing you of the options available to you (and everyone else).
I'm not sure how much less "anti-social" I can be with them.
This thread (and many others) are proof its not working as intended, a social tool should not cause animosity in the player base. But if that is your opinion you are more than entitled to it.
Nope, tech support. I have to fix computers when people get it in their heads that they know better than the software developers who create the programs they use.
And proper attribution is given in the signature. Since I haven't seen thlaylierah in this thread (though I also haven't been looking), I believe I'm the only person with that quote in their signature participating in this thread. Hence, "that's my signature".

Entirely up to Cryptic, not you or I. What do they say on the matter?

If Cryptic says so, yes. If not...you do understand how this works, right?
Cryptic has never called either an exploit nor a non-exploit, so /movementreset is no more an exploit than /stuck or /clear (clears chat) or /e Dance.
You have failed to point out the post where Cryptic said this wasn't okay.
You dirty exploiter. How dare you use emotes.

Why don't you stop being antisocial and accept that your enjoyment is secondary to being a prop in my worn out jokes?

You have a sandwich, so I can't be starving!

That's my signature, not his. :P
It's actually thlaylierah's, not yours.
The highlighted part is the part you're making up.
Feel free to toss disco balls around, as long as everyone can "exploit" their way past your hideous sense of humor and total lack of social awareness.
Missed previously, noted now.
You do know i was being sarcastic right?
I believe he was joining you in that particular line of fun...
edit: Or maybe not...cause it sure read as if he were joking as well.
That was directed at other people.
Eh, hard to tell sometimes.
You never go full derp, frenemy! :P:);)
system Lord Baal is dead
And this is why we need that sarcastica font.

You work in telemarketing don't you?

Usually, quoting someone means the response is directed at them.
Y'know, just like spamming someone's screen full of pop-ups interferes with them playing the game outside of your little world.
