Actually I agree with you there, I think that the Kazon would thrive under the governorship of the KDF...though I am biased toward the Kazon for one reason.
Their ships, I love their ships and I don't know why, I just do. When that first Kazon ship appeared on screen I was like "SWEET!" When their bigger dreadnought ship appeared I nearly died from delight. Don't ask me why I just did.
I had a model of a Kazon raider that I had painted to perfection and I had it for years, until my son who was 1 yo at the time somehow got his hands on it...I blame my wife.
I agree. When all things are equal (numbers, training, equipment, etc.), the only reason why ANY military gets its butt handed to it is because of poor leadership. There is nothing wrong with the fighting man. It bad leadership which destroys morale and leads to its defeat.
With the exception of Jal Sankur(and his is questionable), the Kazon have only had petty self-aggrandizing leaders who never matured into adults(man-boys, as it were). Sankur's leadership is questionable as the Kazon Collective fell apart after the defeat of the Trabe. If they fell apart due to Sankur's death, then much like Alexander the Great, only the force of his personality could keep the sects together.
I agree also that while the Kazon might chafe under Klingon leadership, the discipline that PROPER military training could change them from rabble into an effective fighting force. And THAT would be an irony; that the Kilingons would be able to maximize the skills and talents of the Kazon where the Borg failed.

The Borg didn't even try, they just saw the TRIBBLE that was the Kazon and stuck up their noses. They only want whats good now, not what may be good later. I bet if the KDF took the Kazon under its wing and trained them the Borg may change their minds regarding the Kazon.

Who said the Kazon would join willingly? The KDF could pull a Gorn on the Kazon. The Kazon rebelled against the Trabe because they were treated poorly and have been struggling ever since then, under the Empires leadership they may do a LOT better.
I point you to the slums on the fringes of First City where the non-Klingons who aren't KDF personnel live. And that's with species that actually demonstrate useful traits, like Letheans (good for hunting Undine, for starters).
The Gorn got treated well because King Slathis had the cojones to challenge and nearly kill J'mpok in single combat, and because General Klag is a nice guy.

They should just hold a poll of KDF players to see what race the KDF gets, that way they'll have higher sales.
I point you to the last two times we had a forum poll. VOY won the first one with a statistically insignificant number of people actually participating, then the Krenim won the second one handily only to have them use the frakking dinosaurs instead.

Hey there Frank, I take it you don't like the Kazon.
Good enough reason for me.
