    Okay, you're a troll...

forbids them from abusing their credit cards, yeah..............................

It's funny, because tramps and hookers would be socially accepted in the 25th century.

    1. You asked for proof that there's skimpy outfits in Star Trek
    2. You think those are racy???

    1. Please point me to my post where I asked for proof of skimpy outfits in Star Trek.

    2. They're out of context, so yes, they are.

But we don't live in the 25th century. We live in the present day, and in the present day there are still some parents who would take issue with their child playing a Star Trek game where peoples characters look like tramps and hookers.

    Teens watch tv in primetime..Baywatch

Teens go to the beach......Go to any public beach...today...Im serious

Children swim on the swim teams at school...Go see for yourself

So much for your children plea
    Jellico....Engineer ground.....Da'val Romulan space Sci
Saphire.. Science ground......Ko'el Romulan space Tac
    Leva........Tactical ground.....Koj Romulan space Eng

I know, I'm sad too. We can't have nice things. I did forward the post along to pwecaptainsmirk, so I really hope the point will be reviewed by the devs.

It is not the game that objectifies

Correct. It's some of the individuals in it.

What is the point you are trying to make with this statement? No really. I am curious.

For no other point than to reinforce PWE's policy of keeping images off the other forums, or encouraging them to remove the picture function from the art forums since it's clear you just want to post racy pictures for the sake of posting racy pictures?

You reinforce my belief that the STO playerbase is too immature to have that kind of power in the character creator outside of Risa.

Everything I have posted was shown on national television.

What is the point you are trying to make with this statement? No really. I am curious.

The point is if a kid says, "Hey, I heard of this game called Star Trek Online! Can I download and play it?" "Well... it's Star Trek, what's the worst that could happen?"

Then the kid downloads it, installs it. New player experience? ESD. Only now there are a bunch of half-naked people running around in swimsuits.

It not only hurts the aesthetics of the game, it can give off the wrong message to the parents about what Star Trek Online contains. And many parents will simply see child predators posing as sexy trill in bathing suits and tell them to uninstall the game and play it when they're 18.

It sends mixed signals on the game being rated for Teens.

Everything I have posted was shown on national television.

So was Janet Jackson's right breast, but showing stills of that is still considered NSFW. It's all about context. You're taking pictures out of context and posting them for the sake of posting them.

If you think those pics were NSFW then you must be either extremely sheltered or some sort of puritanical. (hope I spelled that right:o)

Those pictures posted were not something I'd consider NSFW (well, depends on the place of employment really), I was referring to the Janet Jackson incident.

But those pictures are taken out of context and posted for the sake of posting sexy pictures, for no other reason than to post sexy pictures.

My original point is context is everything. Have I said the word context enough? Context.

I disagree with all of the above. I don't want to see Baywatch: Earth Spacedock when I beam down. I already have to tolerate the eyesores people come up with regarding the alien generator because they think they're oh-so-unique and oh-so-funny to figure out you can make some really bizarre creations with it (Hint: They aren't).

I want the game to resemble Star Trek, not a 50 year old online predator's candy store.

Keep swimsuits on Risa, and keep modesty and dignity outside of Risa. Unless you're an orion, put a damn shirt on. This is a military organization, not Spring Break.

I already make enough concessions as it is regarding the sake of aesthetics.

Just Say No to Star Tramp Online.

This post is a winner, amen.

Cheesecake is part of Trek. From TOS to JJ Trek but if we do things your way cheesecake will become all of STO. Silly episodes are part of Trek too but I don't think STO should become nothing but that.

I'm aware of that. But the entire show is not about Riker running around in that... thing. The entire show does not involve the cast members regularly donning skimpy outfits like they do in Baywatch.

That's where context comes into play. In context, those costumes and outfits fit that particular story, and are appropriate as such.

Out of context, a picture can say something else entirely. Out of context, a bunch of scantily clad women on ESD wearing swimsuits can show a parent who is monitoring what their child does on the internet a Star Trek Online that maybe Cryptic and/or CBS Studios does not want to portray, per se.

Which is partially why I think swimsuits belong on Risa and Risa alone. Because swimsuits are in context for Risa.

It wont. If it was KDF would have a much bigger population. :D

It is rather snazzy isn't it? Makes me wish STO had sims-style interior customization.

    Please...

any trip to the beaches will show women far more revealing than what the STO bathing suit outfits are...

honestly, nearly everyone here plays for the sake of star trek... and with the toons that are our avatars, I seriously doubt people will wander around getting aroused just looking at our toons.

I walk around with a Santa, I don't see people messaging me asking for gifts.
