I've already mentioned you aren't convincing me of anything, so at this point you're just posting cherry-picked examples for your own (or other posters) personal gratification.
Which really just reinforces my belief that swimsuits should remain on Risa.
I'll leave you alone, as long as you stay on Risa or Drozana where the creepy people are known to congregate. If you want to go on official business, put a shirt on.
In case you hadn't noticed, this is not a series of star trek. This is an MMO with star trek dressing. I don't know about you, but as an MMO player I don't like being dictated to. Sometimes, I want my toon to wear uniforms. Sometimes, I want them to wear very little. The important thing is letting the player have a choice and just because the choice is there does not mean that every player will make that choice.
But they aren't, so I don't. I'd rather not sacrifice the aesthetics of Star Trek Online for other players who want to be tramps and gigolos.
Sure, that's IDIC right there. If you want to wear uniforms all the time then great, knock yourself out. But don't go dictating to other what to wear.
For gods sake, the customization of characters and outfits is one of the main selling points of the game! Just look at the STO entry on the arc main page. It's right there in black and white.

I'm personally fine with it, even if he doesn't convince ya. Giggity.

I'll stop dictating what other people wear when other people use some common decency in the character creator. But since players have proven they can't be trusted with that power, then that power must be suspended or relocated elsewhere.

My gut says that many would. In fact, my gut tells me that many players would resent the arbitrary restriction more than they would resent seeing people running around in odd outfits.

Hey Cryptic, can you implement a toggle so that it displays default uniforms on all players if a player decides they don't want to participate in somebody's 8bit fetish?

Eh, I can see the reasoning on both sides. We do play uniformed organizations. Having times that characters end up in less-than-modest clothing happens, but everyone walking around ESD in bikinis is kinda immersion-breaking. Also, I don't like the idea of limiting any costumes to just one map... BUT if the swimwear could also be used on the Risian Cruise Liner's Risa habitat deck, I could accept it.

Boy am I glad you ain't president of the world.
Now where was that one with the jumpsuit that was missing the entire back?

Wow, judgy much? Who made you the decency police? If someone wants to dress their character skimpily what business is it of yours? Seriously?
It's not myfault ifyoufeel trolledbymyDisco ball...Sorry'boutit.

Because if people won't use common sense, then somebody has to. This game is still rated T for Teen and it's still Star Trek Online, not Star Trek: Baywatch. Children play this game.

You're just trolling at this point, aren't you? There is no way that you could possibly think that that's a good idea. As many have said, including myself, this game is not all about your sensibilities. Star Trek means something different to everyone. Just because you have a problem with a big-headed, long armed, three foot alien running around spacedock does not negate his value. That's just specieist. You do know that if we were to ever make contact with an alien, he probably wouldn't be even remotely humanoid, right?
The big point is: You do have the right to dictate what another player chooses to look like. Sure, you have a right to your opinion, but that's all it is.
At this point, I will no longer feed you, and advise others to do the same.

You don't know me. And you clearly haven't read what I've been saying other than what you want to hear. You haven't read the context of what I've said, and you certainly haven't read the part where I feel I've made enough concessions already regarding aesthetics.

That argument is bad and you should feel bad. I am not going to parent someone elses kid.
Hey. I am many things, but sexist isn't one of them. Shall I spend the next half an hour posting some beefcake to even things out a bit?
Pictures
I think I will~
For no other point than to reinforce PWE's policy of keeping images off the other forums, or encouraging them to remove the picture function from the art forums since it's clear you just want to post racy pictures for the sake of posting racy pictures?
You reinforce my belief that the STO playerbase is too immature to have that kind of power in the character creator outside of Risa.

Of course not. But someone's parents might not want them to play the game if they see a bunch of tramps and hookers running around on ESD on their monitor, and forbids them from playing and abusing their credit card.

1. You asked for proof that there's skimpy outfits in Star Trek
2. You think those are racy???

Grace Lee Whitney was a very pretty lady. Nothing to do with the thread really. I just felt like posting pictures of Grace Lee Whitney.
This.
Emphasis in the quote is mine.
EDIT
Centresolace, I know we have disagreed in the past but in this case I salute you

It's a game. Get over yourself your highness.
So you got nothing then, gotcha.

Guess that would count as my two cents.

Found it!
No idea, but I'm sure you'll post it to the thread so you can justify treating women like objects and not other human beings.
