We were supposedly getting a Dev Blog on the new uniform code this week, so players can customize their uniforms accordingly, but alas we have yet to see it (I am aware of the reddit post, though). I'm hoping this is because this idea (or one similar to it) has already occurred to Cryptic and they are working to make it happen, and then publishing the Dev Blog in conjunction with a C-Store release.
Really? Now I'm looking forward to it.
"Rise like Lions after slumber, In unvanquishable number, Shake your chains to earth like dew, Which in sleep had fallen on you-Ye are many they are few"
I can certainly support this, though I will stay loyal to my beloved Jupiter uniform series, which were excellent in my view.
As one of those small fleets closing rapidly in on tier 3 I like either idea.
Really? Now I'm looking forward to it.
Oh, I know! I love the Jupiter uniforms, too. My FED main wore them up until S9 launch, then I just had to put him in the Odyssey. I was going to wait until my Fleet reached T3 and Tailor unlock, but that is WAY far off, so I got an invite to another Fleet's Talior. Yeah, I'm impatient. Lol

You know it's interesting. With the uniforms they're doing a lot of good things. The armors look great, the lobi uniforms were pretty good, in fact after going through all the trouble of unlocking the Honor Guard uniform, my Klingon still uses the Korath lobi Uniform as it's just THAT good. Hell that should be the Klingon 25th century uniform not 29th. But C-Store gear has fallen by the way side. And that's sad. But I would like to see the clothes team go back in to pure uniforms and seriously someone needs to take a look at the formal wear. They can do better.
And how do I get in contact with a fleet for an invite? While my Starbase is at 45K science experience and about to start the upgrade projects this week, my Spire isn't even started and that spire uniform is MONEY! All four of my characters will be needing that.

Agreed. I love the Armors in the Tailor now with the pieces broken down so we can make some unique looks. I'm not sure how it works in conjunction with Reps, but I would like to see more Armors and Uniforms added to the Tailor by unlocking them from Reps, Missions, etc. (How awesome would it be to unlock the Jem'Hadar Uniform from getting the Jem'Hadar Tactical Bridge Officer in the Mission: Facility 4028? )
Could you post a pic of the Korath Uniform? I've not seen it. How do you get it? I'd like to see some new clothing options in the C-Store as well. Especially for Klingons. They have the fewest options out there. Really restrictive.
I went on to the Public Service and NoP Public Service channels and started asking for invites. Found a kind soul to invite me to their Starbase. Lots of folks willing to help out there without charging you for access.

I just wanted to point out, in the interim of the Odyssey uniform reaching the state you'd like (there are a lot of good ideas in this thread), that the Starfleet Academy uniform actually nearly seemlessly completes/adds to the Odyssey uniform.
Simply put: the material and texture quality match.
Quinn's pants are actually Starfleet Academy pants. You can easily pair up the SFAcademy skirt and boots for female officers and have them look very cohesive if you borrow from Thomas Marrone's color scheme displayed over STOreddit.
To me, it's was a pleasant surprise, though it shoudln't have been: the STAcademy uniforms were high quality and felt period appropriate, so the Odyssey uniform being compatible or completable by the STAcademy Z-Store purchase is a good thing, I think.
given that, what I'm looking forward to is the Admiral jacket version of the Odyssey uniform, and the open jacket version people already having purchased the 'Open Jackets' on the Z-Store could be eligible to (though I'd like them to put some care in how they'll reposition the rank pins on the Open Jacket version).

Yes, I noticed the similarity between the Odyssey Uniform and the Academy Uniform, too. I've used the Academy skirt and boots on some of my female officers, and they do go very well with the Odyssey jacket. I also used the Academy pants along with the Odyssey jacket to make an Admiral's uniform for my toon as well.

They're clearly contemporary, in fact when the Odyssey, or just Fleet Uniform first came out I thought it was the Academy Uniform with like a Veteran trim or something. Wait. MACO Armor is under Off-Duty?! I can't put my BOs in MACO Armor?!? Off-Duty?!?! The elite battle armor is considered Off-Duty?!?!? That makes no sense!

Speaking of Mirror versions of what the Oddy would look like I noticed the placement of the terran emblem on the shoulder lines up really nicely with the Uniforms depeartmental colour band , thanks to whichever person behind the scenes set it up that way

It seems to me that the Sierra Uniforms look a lot like, though not exactly like, the Countdown Uniforms, in which case, they are already in the game.
In another thread someone suggested that there was a legal issue with the Countdown uniform being restricted to IDW publishing. The Countdown version is apparently in the game's code as evidenced by the fact that the female above is actually a Cryptic photo.
The Sierra is possibly a legal version. In that case it's an acceptable substitute, but the Countdown version looks sleeker.

They have their own category like off duty, I feel that all those restrictions are a pain that's all. You can put your Boffs in MACO gear.
One thing I've noticed that is annoying is that armor pieces and kit pieces are restricted by the character's rank. My Captain can wear all the gear fine, but my Boffs can only use things up to their Commander rank.
Also I don't see the point of Captain only clothes like the Ferengi merchant skirt, it's just dumb I bought the damn thing so I could put it on a boff, but because Boffs don't have off duty she can wear the damn skirt!
Awesome. Yes, I went and got this today to put my KDF Main in. Much sleeker than the one I had him in before.
It is the top notch Klingon design in my mind. I don't remember their announcement on the website when that Lockbox with the Korath came out, but the first time I saw it in person in Q's Winter Wonderland I was like, WHAT IS THAT?? I bought it almost immediately.
You have to go in the Chat UI and add those channels.
I've had problems before getting in. I don't have to be invited do I?
Yes, and according to the new Uniform Code, it would seem that T'TRIBBLE is an enlisted member (grey uniform) rather than an officer (black uniform).
Fascinating. She has a Captain rank insignia. Are you sure she's not a cadet Captain?

You could be right about the legal issues. And you're right, the Countdown Uniform is much sleeker, much like the Odyssey. Perhaps that's why we got the Odyssey: because they couldn't use the Countdown. Either way, I'm loving the Odyssey on my FED Main.

Good! I was afraid that I wasn't going to get my MACO team assembled. LOL
Yes, the restrictions are maddening. The rank restrictions on kit and armor pieces. The off-duty restrictions on other costumes. Especially restrictions on Lobi costumes since they tend to be more expensive to come by. Some character concepts I just can't explore because of the costume restrictions. Very disappointing.

The Temporal Lockbox, yeah. I remember the Wells Uniform and Temporal Jumpsuit, but somehow never heard about the Korath Uniform. Well, I got it today. Very pleased. Right now, the only uniform I'd prefer over this one on my KDF Main is the Bortasqu'.
Fascinating. She has a Captain rank insignia. Are you sure she's not a cadet Captain?
Well, that art was done before Thomas the Cat's new Uniform Code, so who knows about the rank. I think it actually looks more like the Wells Uniform rank than what we see on the Odyssey. But grey apparently is the enlisted uniform.

Thanks for your suggestions and comments I've been in discussions regarding the Odyssey and Bortasqu' items recently, and we always consider what you guys post. Future plans for these items are a while off yet, but please keep your suggestions coming.
This is discouraging. Most of us have been requesting the "expanded" versions of the fleet uniforms since the fleet system was introduced. NPCs wear them, mannequins wear them and yet we still can't. I think most of us expected them to be a t5 unlock but as fleets started reaching t5 we learned that wasn't the case.

This +1.
Frankly, I think it's a terrible case of "False Advertising" to use "expanded" Ody/Bort uniform pieces on mannequins and NPCs and then selling us something else/less so without proper in-game description/explanation available prior to purchase.

Yeap. I was extremely disappointed when I wasted my dilithium AND fleet marks to buy the fleet uniform.

I think that the Odyssey uniforms should not be the 'standard'. It's not because I don't like the Odyssey uniforms, because I do. I actually consider them 'too good' to be the standard. They are exemplary. They are worthy of the effort it takes a fleet to unlock them.
I also think that a 'standard' should not be 'premium'. You should not have to purchase the 'standard' uniform in the C-Store.
Another bad idea: changing premium items after they've been purchased. This goes especially for the people that have already purchased the current Odyssey uniforms via the Fleet Starbase Tailor. If you make that uniform free to everyone as the new 'standard' or even as a premiuim purchase that anyone can get in the C-Store, you're robbing the people that unlocked the ability to purchase it of their effort's value. and making the difference between the Fleet and the C-Store/free versions the little band of piping is not going to be a big enough difference to make the effort for the Fleet version 'worth it'.
Cryptic went out of their way to make the in-game canon state that Starfleet has dropped the concept of a single uniform throughout the entire organization in 2409 in order to allow players the freedom of setting their own command's uniform and not be 'wrong' for having a different uniform than someone else in their faction. Maybe that's what needs to be done here: the Odyssey uniform is not the 'standard', but it's the current Uniform of the Day for ESD command.
In another thread someone suggested that there was a legal issue with the Countdown uniform being restricted to IDW publishing. The Countdown version is apparently in the game's code as evidenced by the fact that the female above is actually a Cryptic photo.

I think your information is confused. The JJVerse TOS uniforms were the ones that were mistakenly included in the game's code (I think someone somewhere can provide screenshots). However the rights to those uniforms apparently belong to Paramount, not CBS, so that's where the conflict comes in.
...notice the seams/texturing
The "Countdown" uniform screenshot IIRC actually comes from Perpetual's concept art before Cryptic took over. The in-game "Sierra" top is close enough to that though.
Jellico....Engineer ground.....Da'val Romulan space Sci
Saphire.. Science ground......Ko'el Romulan space Tac
Leva........Tactical ground.....Koj Romulan space Eng
JJ-Verse will never be Canon or considered Lore...It will always be JJ-Verse
Ok, I've now taken the time to read the OP and the rest of the thread (my post above was simply a reply to the Dev after following the Tracker to this thread).
Now, to the OP - Those are some great ideas.
I love the Ody uniform and think it makes a fine standard uniform in the game. And I've got no problem with the game locking that behind a paywall (either Fleet or C-Store). It's a F2P game, payup if you want the good stuff. Heh.
Anyway, I'm especially pleased to have the official color pallet available (even if the Dev posted it on Reddit, sure would love to have an Official Blog on it ). That really makes my OCD happy.
I have all my active Fed characters with an standard Ody uniform set up (they wear them whenever visiting ESD/Sol, and occasionally elsewise).
In that Reddit post, Thomas mentions that the gold piping is strictly for Quinn, him being the "head honcho", so I doubt we'd see that even in a C-Store variant. Though, perhaps they could make a Silver piping? I would like to see a long coat (with sleeve cuffs) and proper Ody belt made available. I would certainly love the option to support Cryptic with a $5-10 purchase to unlock a "premium" version of the Ody account-wide.
Likewise for the Bortus uniform, a C-Store unlock (regardless if part of a discounted bundle or not) would be purchased in an instant if it contained the missing pieces (though still miffed about those not being included already).
So Feds and KDF have a standard uniform. What about the Romulans? Those half-children, forced to join other factions' fleets, but can't wear their fleet uniforms (even if purchased -- Another thing Cryptic did that torqued me off ), and who have mixed-faction bridge crews forced to wear different uniforms... It makes my OCD quite unhappy. >sigh< Oh well...
TL;DR: Love to the Ody Uniform. Much props to Thomas for posting the pallets. Love the Bortas uniform, wish it was complete/not-broken, and was seen more in-game. Would pay money to have more/better versions of either/both.
>Throws wallet at the screen<

It is the top notch Klingon design in my mind. I don't remember their announcement on the website when that Lockbox with the Korath came out, but the first time I saw it in person in Q's Winter Wonderland I was like, WHAT IS THAT?? I bought it almost immediately.
I've had problems before getting in. I don't have to be invited do I?
No, no invite needed. Just add it. Not sure what the issue might be.
Well, that art was done before Thomas the Cat's new Uniform Code, so who knows about the rank. I think it actually looks more like the Wells Uniform rank than what we see on the Odyssey. But grey apparently is the enlisted uniform.

While disappointed that we won't see anything regarding these uniforms for some time yet, I'm just thrilled to have acknowledgement that one of my proposals has been seen and considered.

JJ-Verse will never be Canon or considered Lore...It will always be JJ-Verse
Still, now that a Dev is looking at this thread, I may just redraw them entirely.
