worst op console tdf

the tachyon detection field gives too much boost and butthurt to me when used

please nerf this asap i beg of ye

(or give it to the kdf too)

    Lol. I remember when the complaint was that the TDF as useless garbage of a console. Heck, its useless nature as once used to argue why the feds needed some KDF consoles to make up for it.
    I'm fine with the feds having the best cloak detection.
    In fact since the feds have the best cloak detection it adds wieght as to why they are fine in their current level of cloaking ability factionwise.
    If that changes then we can talk about the acquisition,imo. Otherwise I vote no.

    I would say yes, KDF deserves TDF console. Why? Feds have better cloak detection and same cloak level as KDF. Same cloak level? Yes, because battlecloaking romulans are the issue. BOP's can battle cloak, that's true. But in fact Warbirds, which are crossfaction, widely replaced those. And we all know why. So for achieving balance, please give TDF to KDF, so they can detect Fed-Roms as good as Feds do with KDF-Roms.

    PS: Yes AA can help with cloak detection, but cloakers have to get very close to them, so at this point they've already got detected by dedicated snoopers.

    In about a week there will be only cross faction pvp Qs if I'm not mistaken. So this will be kind of a non issue then...

    If Feds get AA in exchange I am not sure sure getting TDF for KDF is a good idea. I think out of all the bad consoles KDF got before maybe the Feds should get something other then AA for TDF like magnometric generator, shield destabilizer, enhanced induction coil, or barrier field.

    If that won't happen I would rather see the ionized gas sensor improved, it rarely works now as it is very slow and gives off a loud noise that warns people. It needs its speed and tracking improved and lose the beeping.

    The worst is TDF on a Fedulan T'Varo. At least with other ships they have to decloak to use it or simply don't have a cloak and therefore can be seen giving cloakers a small chance to get the 30+ kilometers away required... Having the ability to be detected from 28k away and promptly destroyed while still cloaked, and with no counter available at all, is kind of ridiculous.

    Honestly this console is fine ... as long as people are not console swapping. Cryptic needs to fix that exploit.

    Yeah, vapers getting isocharge, impulse burst every alpha, or set bonuses (apart from Proton) is silly as well.

    Yep, it's been available to Feds to run on any boat for over two years. Things have changed though over the years. Running TDF today is not the same as it was running TDF going back two years...

    Outside of the A2B crowd, there's more Aux available because there's simply more power available now than there has been over the years.

    Sub/Infil/Pirate no longer stack, so Stealth Values are not as high as they were. Folks lost 225-375 Stealth Value, that's 4.5-7.5km of Stealth Distance.

    EPtA added 3km, 4km, and 5km Perception Distance buffs...while the pseudo corresponding +Stealth buffs have never worked.

    There's the Jem Mk XII and Rom Mk XII Deflectors providing their buffs to Stealth Detection, while the buffs to Stealth from the Rem/Rom Deflectors does not work.

    Etc, etc, etc...

    Yep, Stealth Detection buffed...Stealth nerfed...puts the TDF in a better place. Heck, you've got its CD reduced by 2pc MACO and the [SciCdr] Deflector (perhaps if you're a Sci Captain and running lots of other Sci goodies...thus preferring that to the Jem or Rom Deflectors). And yeah, that's before the console swapping shenanigans that are going on with it...

    I'd take the opposite tack: there's more cloakers now, and battlecloakers who can leave a fight in the middle, so detection is more necessary.

    But only for one side? As has been pointed out, Feds have Romulans as well...
