Vash. She was less interesting than CPT Kirk's conquest-of-the-week.
Or Ezri Dax -- painful! *shudder*
My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.
forget those characters the worst character ever is Janeway in my opinion by more then country miles or post codes, try whole galaxies worse. the worst hypocrite and mass murderer you will ever find on trek and even got promoted to admiral for her efforts.
Mass murderer? Rewarded with Vice Admiral promotion?
Sounds kinda like us. Janeway is the ideal starfleet captain in STO.
picard wasnt a strong character, if he could allow the likes of Q and Lwaxana Troi to get under his skin so easily then clearly he was just as easily manipulated like anyone other character.
Janeway's sole trait is recklessness, in so in order to get under her skin, attack her ship and she will come through hell to ask what that was about or destroy you trying. Picard is arrogant, insult his honor by taking his command position away and watch him cry like a baby because he really has no power beyond the respect of those on his ship and his reputation. that is hardly what you would call a strong character.
And how did Picard get the respect of his crew and his reputation?...
Thoughtful villains willing to be quiet long enough for him to make a grand speech with the backdrop of supportive background music. In RL they interrupt you and you get no rousing music.

I'm inclined to agree. She was so poorly, inconsistently written, that it's hard for me to find much to like about her. The average villain was more compelling - at least they had clear motivations.
...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.
She's just a preposterous character. She's not physically fit, but yet she dominates every fits fight she gets in. She's overly aggressive at the drop of the hat, but then defaults back to this naive vapidness when not in fight mode. She's just awful.
Captain Jonathan Archer. He was a whiny, idiotic, selfish manchild that should never have been placed in charge of anything let alone one of Earth's first warp capable starships.
Aw, c'mon, she was badass...and KiraXOdo is a cute ship...
Plus, without Kira, we could not have Mirror Kira. And Mirror Kira is SEXY.
I do have this one very, very irrational bias with Kira. I hate, hate, hate her Bajoran uniform... but only on her. Odo's Bajoran uniform doesn't bother me. But Kira's just bothers me for some reason... either it's ill fitting or somehow other unflattering. Not sure...
In the last few episodes of DS9 where Kira wore a Starfleet uniform, my opinion of her went up like 5 fold. Still... not all that high, but that improvement was significant.
But I think my disdain of Kira is in the fact that Ro Laren was one of my all time favorite ansillary Trek characters. Ro set the bar for what I expect from a Bajoran woman. She was a true Badass is a viscious disregard for authority, and a strength in candor that really made her someone I appreciated. She was legitimately strong, she bore the scars of her past quite appropriately, and she was the independent Bajoran woman who Star Trek needed woven into it's fabric. IMO, Kira totally diminished that role- the role I had SO MUCH appreciation for when Ro filled it.

Interesting. I quite liked both characters, myself. Maybe it's because Kira was basically a replacement for Ro because Ro's actress couldn't do DS9?
I almost feel bad for Scotty...having to play that **** for 4 years. I mean, he could have backed out, but he was CPT of an Enterprise! I know he wasn't a great actor but the writers didn't do him any favors or let him interpret the character as much as they should have. He must be the most maligned Trek CPT ever.

The series 1 and 2 uniform was the standard red and looked equally bad on everyone, the series 2-6 jumpsuit thing was alright, but the series 7 abomination was bloody horrible.
By the end of series 3 Kira was nothing like Ro that's when she became a much better character.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Well, I don't go around talking about the next "season" of Doctor Who; I call it a series because it's a British show. The difference between the way American and British programs are ordered by their respective networks or channels defines the distinction.
Tie for Kim and Mayweather - though not entirely of the actor's fault. They were just ignored until someone remembered they were a principal cast member.
Secondly, Kes, she went from being one of the better characters in early Voyager to another plot device towards the end of her character's run.
Thirdly, Early Troi, I get she was supposed to be Picard's conscience, but early on, well Q said it best in All Good Things.
I disagree with almost everyone all of your vote guy
sadly Kai Winn was and is a necessary evil. I almost hated her as fast as I did with Captain Herbert Sobel it started at time 0:17
now I have watch all star trek over and over ....................... again and I have hard time thinking of any character i would delete or change,
but I was hope of new series with many many season from the end of JJ 1st Star trek mix of new mission and old mission but with new approach to things.
however from time to time I think deleting S04E24 Demon and S05E18 Course: Oblivion from Voyager is a good idea but just from time to time

That's just Star Trek, all the villains in Star Trek patiently stand and wait for the captain to finish their monologue(well all villains but the Borg. Borg are badass), so you can't really hold something against Picard that ALL the captains do...
Janeway on the other hand. The entire story line for the entire show is her crew suffering for her stupid decision to ignore the prime directive..
That all said, Picard isn't my favorite Captain anyway... lol
The idea of a supreme being with the maturity of a spoiled brat ruined my enjoyment of the episodes every time he showed his goofy face. The only episode I thought was interesting was when he introduced the Enterprise to the Borg, but that could have been done another way. I pretty much skip his episodes when I rewatch the franchise on Netflix.

I always thought he was acting that way Ironically. Mirroring the way he thinks we(as a whole) act to rub it in our faces and force us to learn from it...
Your not alone on Kai Winn. With her you have to remember that she was supposed to be a character that everyone hated. I can't even think of any of the people on the entire station that liked her.
I'm inclined to agree. She was so poorly, inconsistently written, that it's hard for me to find much to like about her. The average villain was more compelling - at least they had clear motivations.
Remember, Janeway was the villain to her crew, her first officer, and all the other species they encountered. Just nobody realized it, not even the producers.
What really set me off about Janeway was when she helped the Hirogen hunt down the holograms that were trying to escape from a life of being abused and tortured. That action to me is what every Starfleet captain should be trained not to do.

The Vulcans rubbed him the wrong way in a very sensitive place.

So the next time I refer to a British show as having seasons, cut me some slack.
Tell that to the JJ Haters
