The stupid Pre-patcher is stopping me from playing STO

OK I get off at around 11pm EST last night (4/13/2014 is today's date) and this morning at 11:25 AM I CAN NOT GET ON! This is the second time this has happened and I do NOT appreciate this bull TRIBBLE. First time I thought, maybe I was TRIBBLE, so I changed my password, this time I think it is just the absolute STUPIDITY of YOU Cryptic.

Oh in case you are wondering, the launcher keeps telling me that I have made too many log in attempts when between the two times I have only attempted to log in ONCE

Would like to add that this TRIBBLE also carries over to the Neverwinter game, I can not log into it either

How can I buy anything if I can not get on, and guess what I had $5 I was going to use in game, but now I guess I'll just spend that money at Mcdonalds, because I will NOT be spending it on a game I can not play

    Starting tonight, provided I can even log in, I am going to shut down my wireless before I go to bed. That way when I can not log in again the next day I can say point blank that it IS on your end, OR that someone is hacking me, even though I have changed my password twice. Which is something I have never had an issue with before these pre-patches, so in the end it would still be your company's fault.

    If someone IS currently on my account, playing the games, please do me a favor and kick them off and block off their IP

    Lets say for the sake of arguments that someone is on your account and they did not change the password you would automatically log them out as soon as you logged in it would say something like "duplicate account login" I know this because I have tested this on a alt account that a friend and I tested this on just to see what it would do and so we would know if it ever happen to us

    this was only a test to see how it worked I would never give my main account details to anyone

    I know this does not help but I do not think it is the prepatch doing this.

    I was able to get on a little after midnight last night and when I got off I closed the pre-patcher, thinking that was was causing the problem and turned off my wireless, Arc then yelled at me saying that a fatal error had occurred, so it is either the fault of ARC or the fault of the pre-patch as this morning when I reconnected and attempted to log into STO I was able to get on

    It's most likely Arc causing the issue. I don't use Arc (except to get free stuff), and I've never had the issue you're describing. Try running STO without using Arc, and see if you still have issues.

    If you need or want to by-pass the ARC system and not download it at all in the 1st place.... Until it is require in the future to run STO...

    you can follow this Cryptic Supported link to download the launcher.... It is updated everytime the STO launcher is updated.... so you'll be getting the latest launcher everytime.... you'll will still have to re download the game... but if there is a way to install the launcher and then. link it to the files you've already downloaded from ARC... I believe you can do that... just not sure how to... an expert of that area would be the best help...
