Cryptic has had the whole year to prepare this latest fiasco. So what's the excuse this time for not being able to collect the Romulan doff? You all couldn't devote enough time to an annual special event, because... what? ESD needed to be revamped, right? You're like the Charlie Brown of video game companies. You guys can't do anything right.

I tried to do the scanning game, but gave up, and dropped it after the first three dots I scanned, collapsed, and gave me nothing. This game just isn't fun at all, anymore. You guys are without a doubt, the worst video game company, ever.

I wish it was all over a doff. Unfortunately, Cryptic's problems are much deeper than that.
    This Kid. :)
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Wow, at least I did ~200 of them to get my 75 before I came to the forums to rant about it. ;)

I'm sorry you guys are all bent out of shape, over me attacking your pride and joy, again. I only do it because Cryptic makes the provisions for me to do so. What can I say? Sometimes the truth hurts, but it's still the truth.

I have no idea what he's talking about specifically however I do have to agree with him on one thing.

They have a serious serious problem with quality control specifically dealing with bug squashing. My partner came back to this game and there isn't a single night in which something doesn't bug out on him and he doesn't have a pushover computer.

It's a serious problem. I've had moments like the OP where I am just plain tired of logging into a live patch and finding something so completely stupid that should never have been missed by a bug team ever that it blew my mind. Like "how could they possibly release this TRIBBLE of a patch like this?" kind of moment.

They really do need to refocus their bug team or put someone else in charge or fix whatever the problem is because as time goes by it's getting more and more noticeable. Also, why do we need to post to twitter about major gamebreaking bugs, the last time these bugs came up and affected thousands of players we were told that was the best way to report them. Why is there no priority list being generated daily from reports from in game?

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect that something be done about a quality problem on a product.

I wont deny that cryptic is a mess of a company, and it is worst day after day, but you blamed the event and the event is just fine. The event is based on luck. You can scan 10 spots and got nothing, or the opposite. Thats the idea of the event.. now, the whole mechanics of the event are wrong. Too many people trying to gather the particles and in the end, if you are not lucky you can waste 1 hour and still not get those 75. That and the other part of the event reward, the exocomp doff, that is bugged as well..

I know that, but you should get used to cryptic's fails every day, and you will not get so frustrated. Is an advise. I noticed long time ago how things were going and i tried to open the eyes of the people of this forum, but i failed. :D and as you, sometimes i get very frustrated by all the fails of the game, sometimes it is not even a "game". But since i dont waste one single euro on the game, i just take things really easy. Thats the only way to play the game and not feel frustrated.

Regardless if we think the OP is or is not overreacting, that doesn't change the simple fact that they managed to TRIBBLE up yet again on such a simple thing. Fact - it's broken.
The mission for Romulans is bugged, but seing the majority's reaction being "You complain for something that is broken? What's wrong with you?" I'm really starting to think we (as a comunity, a whole) deserve no better than the half-arsed not tested TRIBBLE they're pulling.

While I agree that there are a lot of places this game could be better, it does really come off as this being about one doff and scanning three anomalies... which isn't that big of an issue. Perhaps you could expand the original post to include other issues along the same lines? Use other examples of how bad cryptic can be at times that back up the point you're trying to make?

For Example, my personal Gripe is against the Infected complexion being the head only, leaving the Borg captains with the nastiest reverse tanlines ever. To make it more of an suggestion and less of a complaint, I included a few other suggestions to improve the Liberated Captains as a whole. Also Mentioned that it would be a great time to do it since they're already reworking the Borg missions for season 9 as well as looking at more ways to improve the LTS. Since the LTS is about $300 and the only way to play as a Liberated Borg Captain, it would increase the value for the LTS as well as be a great addition for free players as they can use infected as an alien skin type.

Another great example would be the current arguments against grind and power creep, or the fact that they will constantly over hype features with blatant false advertisements only to release them half finished and halfassed, only to never fix them later. Champions online is full of these kinds of things. Don't just say "Wahh, i don't like this small issue!". Instead, bring up your issue, bring up other things along similar lines as your issue, give ways to fix it, or at least constructive criticism. If you want people to agree with your problem, you need to make it relatable to them as they play. The more people that agree with it, the more they mention it on the forums. If it gets large enough, they will be more likely to fix it.... even though it's Cryptic and they don't fix things as often as they seem to break them...

Posts like ours are expanding the issues to include other things. And his frustration is completely valid.

They have a PTR for this very purpose. Things like what I've experienced over the past few months as well as my partner should not be happening any longer, this game is how many years old? PTR system is supposed to catch these major bugs before they are released. Instead these things go through a test phase and these major bugs are dropping out of the sky every patch.

I would me more angry personally if they were a company like Arenanet who is too arrogant to use a system like the PTR in order to test but it's still ridiculous to have certain big bugs that shouldn't be missed happen every single time.

As near as I can tell he is not complaining about the part of the event that is bugged - he never even did the part that is bugged. He is complaining about the part of the even that is working as intended: the fact that some scans collapse. Some of them are designed to collapse. Every scan is not supposed to work. It is random.

He did 3 scans and then gave up. He never encountered a bug. He is simply angry that the Event does not function the way he wants it to. If he were angry about the Rom Doff I could understand that.

This. It's a doff, dude, it's not worth stressing over, sheesh. I have to gimp around in RL while a torn leg muscle recovers, that's worth stressing over, not a virtual object that doesn't affect real life.

You say Cryptic is "best", yet you say that? You're not making a lot of sense.

And you haven't really made any compelling arguments about how Cryptic isn't awesome.

Ignoring the fact that Cryptic listens to us constantly, then saying "At least Game X Devs are listening to the playerbase" isn't a valid argument.
