How does the game run on Intel Integrated 4400 graphics?

My laptop finally met its demise and I am shopping around for a new laptop. I don't really game a whole lot out of STO. My old comp had a AMD Radeon card, but looking at new laptops they are really charging an arm and a leg for dedicated graphics. I'm leaning towards the new Intel i7 processors.. Was wondering if STO would work on such a computer if it only had the integrated graphics card. Thanks!

Works fine. Heck, this game probably runs on a Microsoft Surface Pro 2.

STO will work fine. I play it on a Dell Latitude 3450 laptop with an i5-4200u and a Radeon HD 8850m graphics chip. When I tested the game using the Intel HD 4400, I think it runs fine at 1600x900 resolution and low graphic settings. Using 1920x1080 resolution or using medium graphic settings makes the game lag a bit too much though. Naturally, if you are buying a laptop with only a 1366x768 resolution screen, then using medium graphics quality should be fine.

Just be aware that the Core i7 you will be buying is only going to be a dual core CPU. Only mobilie Core i7 CPUs with the "MQ", "HQ" and "MX" designations are quad core CPUs and they come with the Intel HD 4600 graphics core. The "U" models of the Core i5 and i7 have the Intel HD 4400 graphics core. The main difference between the these CPU is that the i7 will likely be clocked a little higher and have a little more cache (not much performance difference for games).
